  1. 1) Trumpism dies January 2029.
    2) Canada was sold to China a ways back.
    3) The US will be the next international pariah.

    1. 1) Big assumption
      2) Given, more like
      3) Jury is out, May be the only western country left standing. Europe is over, done, finished. Canada is a very temporary shitstain on a map of North America. In any case who are the arbiters of “pariah” status? Europe and Canada usually play the role of hectoring Karen’s, they’ll be gone.

    2. 1) Followed immediately by Vanceism or Rubioism.
      2) Canada won’t exist long enough for that to happen.
      3) The US is now collectivists nemesis, DeMarxists losing, Trump winning, leaps and bounds ahead of them.

DeMarxists’ desperate all Trump all the time to enable their totalitarian triumph return to power and its perks may just work. Then again they’re doing their best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with their lawfare threats against Trump and Republicans.

  2. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Thorne’s evaluation suggests Canada needs to circle the wagons around the energy sector, suggesting that Carney was spoon feeding this position in tiny little bites. He states, further that Canadian Industry is no longer an option as it no longer truly exists.

EXCEPT, Carney issued a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2025 promising to visit carbon capture, pipelines, and various energy projects….which took less than 30 days for Liberals in Ottawa to vote down the MOU basis 196 to 139 (not even close). Historically speaking, Carney and his wife not only support the application of “climate change” regulations and costs, but he went so far as to spearhead the Net Zero protocol while acting on behalf of a banking conglomerate. He didn’t just go along with it….he CREATED IT. And, then quickly disbanded it when it became apparent that the bank(s) were neglecting their fiduciary duty to investors.

Thorne poses the question…”What is he going to do?” Well, first off, it doesn’t matter what he decides because the Liberal government holds the true power on dropping regulations, and they will not. It doesn’t matter, because, Carney likely supports that position 100%.

Thorne thinks the only way out for Canada is to restructure the Canadian economy around natural resources. It seems pretty clear to me that such an approach is off the table before it’s even considered….to the tune of 196 to 139.

      1. Orson,
        “Correct if I’m wrong.”
I wish you were, but, as usual, you nailed it.
Nice touch to say “Carney…and his Wife”…
196 to 139 could be a new song by Chicago.

    1. Carney has been on record supporting “Carbon leakage tariffs”, so if a country doesn’t mean Canada’s carbon commitment, any canadians buying their products will have to pay a tariff on those products, and then of course the increased taxes all up along the way.

    2. Carney is also onboard UN Agenda 2030 and is committed to remove another 15% of productive forests and potential and planned mines to comply. He doesn’t give a flying f..k about rural jobs when he can be seen by global Champaign Socialists as one of them. He is a master of deceit.

  3. What the author fails to deal with is the bald faced lying that has been done by this regime, and the lack of movement in any positive direction (MOUs don’t count for anything any more than blowing kisses). I don’t trust Carnage to look after Canada’s interests and until he does something positive (and pissing on the US regime doesn’t count) and tells us the truth, I won’t give him my attention or my vote. And if does what I think he is trying to do, implement WEF global communism, I will fight him tooth and claw to prevent his dissection of my nation.

In my opinion, the author is gullible in the extreme and that is as kind as I will be.

  4. LOL! That’s what I think of it. But by all means Canada, become even more of a resource colony than you already are (and that’s if you could actually pull that off, which is looking less likely monthly).

But seriously, what did this person say that Pollievre hasn’t (except for the more generous stance towards Governor Carney, and Pollievre at least talks a good game when it comes to Canadian manufacturing — and not that he’s very good, just…better than)? That a lot of other Canadians have said?
    The big question is: so?

PS. told you to watch gold, probably should watch silver and copper too
…and it looks like WTI for the win

  5. Exactly Accomac.
Trump is gone in 3 years, latest, and the Dems, being likely to take over because the voter ID is going nowhere. The next US president (Newsom, the pretty boy) will reverse everything Trump wanted, just out of spite. Meanwhile, Carney will likely be PM for another 8 years, at least. I say just hang in there.

  6. This seemed like a rose colored glasses view of the authors wishful thinking of Carneys comments.
    It’s Utopian, and nonsense.

  7. Canada’s natural resources are its greatest asset, which guarantees the current government will ignore that strength, on its way to bankrupting the nation.

    1. I have a prediction. Within less than a decade, Canada will lease out their claim on the Arctic to China.

    2. A very nice asset to have, indeed. However, it is/was only one of the assets that Canada has/had. I use the past tense because much has been squandered, possibly to the point of non-existence at this point, but there would be hope if someone would do something.
I would even conjecture that the psyop of convincing Canadians that the only asset (or the greatest asset) they had were their natural resources has proved quite potent…and perhaps lethal.

  8. It’s a partial truth … which in the end is utter nonsense.

In that context, pipelines, LNG, critical minerals, and tidewater routes to Asia and Europe are not optional; they are the hard leverage Canada has avoided building for too long.

Here’s what’s also not optional … building a viable military defense. On your own. You’re no longer gonna be defended by the USA. So Canada best carve out 10-20% of their natural resource leverage to be spent on Defense … or the ChiComs will simply show up one day and just seize it all.

    1. L – The Chi-Coms are already here. They have successfully infiltrated/corrupted most every relevant Canadian institution; which as it turns out, is not a secret to every nation in the Five Eyes Network, from which Canada is, in effect suspended. Hence, the title of Sam Cooper’s best selling book is “Wilful Blindness”. This title is an applicable meme for Canada. Hopefully less so the citizenry… To be continued…

  9. What I think Thorne is doing here is Puffing Carney- In reality, what carney says and what carney does are pretty much opposites.

In that context, what carney says seems pretty reasonable until you realize that it completely ignores geophysical reality and contradicts the entire ideological history of the Trudeau/carney partnership.

What carney is really doing – and without any Plan B – is betting the country on Trump losing the midterms, the Democrats castrating him, and then rewarding carneys loyalty by reestablishing, Ontario’s American markets. At a guess, it isn’t going to happen.

  10. Carney is playing with a contradiction admitting our future is in energy production but keeping the laws in place that keep that from happening.
The speech was written to appeal mostly to those suffering from TDS, plausible denial, and cognitive dissonance.
Can’t stress it enough that Carney wants to make Canada a colony again.

    1. Carney is a creature of the City of London, so keeping Canada an extractable colony is his only job. They didn’t bank on Trump going to total war with the City, and finally ending the revolution started 250 years ago. To be a fly on the wall when trump meets the inbred prince of ears, er, King Charles and Trump tells him to go and get stuffed.

  11. My assessment? These bullishit merchants have bought in to their own bullshit, waaaay too deeply. They talk a big game about these future hypotheticals being the savior of Canada (as well as the other ‘middle powers’.. whatever the hell that contrived bullshit is all about) and some fool-proof leverage in global markets, presumably over the U.S.. The trap this blow-hard is praising as Canada’s salvation is precisely why Russia, the middle east, and other ’emerging economies’ never truly emerged.. Hell, it was one of the unspoken reasons why treasonous British expats (many born abroad) rebelled against the crown, and forget Canada’s #1 trading partner, and security provider.. Devolving into a commodity-centric economy of limited scaling and domestic production of consumer goods. Canada has all but turned it’s back on domestic production, and is ready, willing, and able to crush it’s own consumer base in the process. No amount of nebulous ‘pipelines’, or ‘port expansion’ is going to remedy that.. Hell, brain-drain will sap Canada well before that happens anyway. Focusing primarily on commodity export is retrograde, it is a dead end, and even chodes like the Carny’val barker ought to know that.. Chiding and deriding your upper-tier access to the largest over-production dumping ground the world has ever seen is the most ignorant, irresponsible, asinine, pig-headed move I have ever seen. Instead of dumping it’s own over-production on U.S. markets, Chinada wants to relegate itself to just another energy and raw materials warehouse for the largest, most duplicitous, self-centered over-producers in the world? China doesn’t buy anything it doesn’t need, and games the system to where they can out produce you (why they are whining about being cut off from their dirt-cheap bootleg oil), and your over-priced labor any day of the week. The other Asian markets are, or are going to be vassalized in the very same spheres of influence that his article hints at, and they will buy from China before anyone else, while China dumps it’s over-production on them, the EU, and the U.S.. Outside of a ‘last-choice’ (overpriced) oil and gas option, and provider of minerals they can’t steal from S.A. or S. Africa (or they don’t want the U.S. to have.. it’s very dangerous to stand between a hungry wolf and raw meat). As for final ‘consumer’ products? looool.. China doesn’t buy, they sell.. the E.U. too, to a certain extent, so the only thing Canada has to offer China is *proximity*. Canada’s direct access to U.S. markets, U.S. subsidized refinement of petrochemicals, (well.. and narco-trafficking/money-laundering) and espionage opportunities are the only thing China really wants from Canada, and Carey and his mutts are even pissing that away. Carney is a dangerous retard, and he isn’t just f*cking with Trump, or the U.S… he is f*cking with the economy, livelihoods, standard of living, and national security of an entire nation, all for the delusional and pointless pipe-dream (and to ‘stick it to’ one man) of whoring Canada out to the most brutal ‘Johns’ Asia and Europe have to offer.. just so Trump can find it dead behind a dumpster one morning. My advice? Grow up, stop talking shit, get your ass off your shoulders, suck up some pride, and accept the reality that ~200 other nations, including China and the E.U. have come to accept.. Sign Trump’s trade deals, and make peace with a decidedly more self-interested southern neighbor.. I am a simple man, but that is just how I see it from south of the border..

    1. Excellent points, dude, but please!… use paragraph breaks, for the love of God!
After reading that, I, too, feel like a blind squirrel!

  12. Thorne: “That answer will not be found in virtue signalling, communiqués, or climate press releases; it will be found in permits issued, pipelines built, ports expanded, and supply chains to Asia and Europe that actually move molecules and metals at scale.”

Yes, everything that the Liberals will not do. Carney is the master manipulator. He lies through his teeth – the latest being that he takes full credit in saving the world during the 2008 financial crisis. He says he developed a process called “Forward Guidance” that saved the world from its financial self. Only that process was developed by the US Treasury back 2000 and began being used in 2004. I am coming to the conclusion that Carney is a technocratic psychopath.

  13. What carney says or doesn’t say matters not, as he, like turD’Ho is a puppet of the PMO, which runs kanuckistan for those who pay them. And today that is the WEF/China.

  14. The US is in bad shape, and they know it. Massive overhanging debt, huge unfunded liabilities. They have to retreat, retrench, and rebuild. If we had any brains we would be turning that into a win-win.

  15. Carney has two interests- Maintaining power and how he and his cabal can benefit. He has made no serious effort to settle the trade issues as the chaos is his best path to maintaining power. We still have trade barriers within Canada . He intends to take total control , create another level of government ( join EU) and the associated grifting ,and create mega projects with no financial controls with abundant opportunities for enrichment of the elite connected few. The only path out is a new country.

  16. I think the “National Security Strategy of the United States of America (November 2025) is a good read to put all that Carnet blarney into context. It’s only 33 pages. It’s straightforward about what the US will and won’t tolerate. For example ” …we want a Hemisphere that remains free of hostile foreign incursion or ownership of key assets, and that supports critical supply chains; and we want to ensure our continued access to key strategic locations. ”
Carney paying footsie with the CCP and being cute with his new world order might put Canada in more trouble yet, especially if he starts increasing CCP presence in Canada, with the goal of exploiting those resources. Trump may boast that the US needs nothing from Canada, but we all know this is BS. Cuba is next, how far down the shit list is Canada?

  17. a quick assessment is that Carnage is ignoring possibly the biggest customer for our resources.
    aw, who would that be?

  18. Who sat at the helm for most of this? All of this nation build should have been done regardless of all the American protections of the past. Nothing has really changed. We have been under performing for a long time. The fact that Carney gets to profit off Canada as a client state via Brookfield to finally realise its potential seems sickeningly convenient.

P.S. What about all his Net Zero lunacy?

  19. You’re 10 years late on your strategy. Because you governed like a bunch of stupid goobers since you’ve taken over the PMO.

  20. The US and Canada have a lot of structural economic advantages. America has a significant advantage over Canada in that several major river systems provide access to tidewater to large inland areas. Canada has one and it is shared with the US. This is why the bulk of Canada’s population is around the St. Lawrence seaway. Vancouver is the other population center due to the Fraser river – but it is short.

Canada purchases access to population centers to sell our goods. That access is getting more expensive due to competition. The more access we have to large markets the better price we can get for our goods. So: ports, pipelines, and railways.

Obsessively focusing on petty insults and engaging in short term thinking is a greased path to ruin.

  21. More – “Rubber, meet Road”: an item in Instapundit (posted at 12:57 by Stephen Green). Chevron has fully divested from the Alberta Oil Sands, moving its operations to Venezuela. I note, Chevron were always big producers of Venezuelan oil, and the Trump Team are probably making them welcome at that table; but it’s pretty clear Canadians didn’t make them welcome here

As pointed-out elsewhere in these comments, Carney talks a good fight – but ‘talk’ is all he does.

  22. The London People will never allow one of its colonies to develop into finishers of anything valuable.
Australia – can’t mine their Uranium
Canada- No Oil Pipe to the World Market. No development without BS Carbon Capture on the Oil.
