Has everyone forgotten that Exalted Ruler has declared muslim values are canadian values?
I lived in Calgary from 2002 to 2014. My daughter was in junior and senior high school and then went to UBC. If I remember correctly, Calgary’s public school system was “big” into charter schools (almost like private schools). There was one which was all boys, one which was all girls, one which focused on the arts and one which was muslim (if I am wrong, please correct me). Most of the charter schools were run like the British public schools and had the students wear uniforms (which I thought was a good idea).
I do not care if the Muslim school removed food during Ramadan, but to have the other schools do so, is not acceptable to my values.
My non-Catholic daughter sends her kids to a Catholic school because they are almost Christian. You get some non-Catholic parents whining about all the religious stuff. Idiots. I’d be tempted to give my kid $100 bucks to order pizzas in the parking lot for his Christian friends – shrimp and bacon – Muslim favourites.
Get back to me when parents withdraw their children in protest.

I don’t want to see Canada destroyed, but it has been destroyed.
It has become impoverished, dysfunctional, corrupt, autocratic, broken, and cannot be fixed because powerful people will not allow it.
Alberta, to save itself and possibly Canada, must leave.
Canada was once a free and noble country, it is not one now.
It is politically corrupt, it’s institutions have been captured,
Canada’s elites collaborate with foreign powers and global institutions to sacrifice the interests of its people
to plunder what remains of its prosperity for a privileged class of public servants and private cartels.
Canada has become adrift.
The people are regulated, supervised, controlled, influenced, tracked and surveilled,
told what kinds of cars they must drive, how to carry their groceries,
what medications they must take, how to speak, what to think, who to hire.
Canada is a managed society, governments run the place, and they have the people under their thumb.

School officials are trying to provoke violence. Telling a normal teenage boy that he can’t eat lunch because of Muslims would definitely start a spiral of reaction and opposition, culminating in violence. Fairness and equality are deeply rooted in Western cultures, imposing rules from a bizarre cult on everyone else is going to get pushback, which will be used to justify more repression. Politically motivated violence is wrong, school officials must not be allowed to set the stage for it to happen.
News report I’d like to see:
“In Calgary this Monday, 500 food trucks converged on Fairview School in the South-East; and offered free food to all the students. Hungry teachers were refused service.”

2 of my kids attended that school for a year, not a fan of Fairview.
I thought religious instruction wasn’t supposed to be taught in the public school system, they are all about “Happy Holidays” during the Christmas season.
I’m not anti religious at all, but if the rule is no religious instruction, then that will include mandating observances for other’s religious views as well, and the instruction for students who are not partaking in ramadan is out of bounds, there should be no repercussions for students who choose to bring lunch, and consume it in the usual area, including in front of other students who are choosing to not eat lunch. Are the diabetic children given an exemption? Then all the children can have an exemption.
Islam’s incrementalism is being forced, and push-back is the best remedy.
The next likely step is for schools to provide no-charge female genital mutilation. No parental consent required.
