  1. “ Canada’s carbon price “. Does he mean the carbon TAX you Canadians pay?

    1. Yes, yes. But nice, gentle, kind, polite, modest and craven Canadians prefer to call it a “price”. You know, like “it’s the price of doing business in never-never land”.

      1. Thanks Jamie. So clearly a tax, but they call it a “price”. Bastards!

Remind me of here in New Jersey when they raise the sales tax from say 5% to 6%, and deceptively call it a “one penny increase” in the sales tax, as if every single purchase is just one dollar.

        1. Same crap with the OHIP ‘premium’ in Ontario. Reminds me of Obamacare ‘subsidies’ too!

    1. Muslims must not eat from sunrise to set set during Rama dama ding ding.

      June should be interesting.

And no twelve hour bs. Allah said no eating sunrise to sunset, and Allah created the earth, thus Allah obviously intended all muzzies stay away from northern areas.

  2. Yet to many Canadian voters it’s a complete mystery why poverty is rising, inflation is rising, cost of living is rising, unemployment is rising, businesses are closing,, GDP per capita is dropping, productivity is dropping, investment in Canada is dropping, standard of living is dropping, etc.

It can’t possibly be 11 years of terrible policy choices by the federal Liberal government that those voters have kept in power. They still believe the media and the Liberals that it’s some nefarious external forces making Canadians poorer.

This is why Canada is poorer than Alabama.

    1. As usual, some good points.
I would disagree with the timeline.

Shitty policy choices go back well over fifty years.
Sure, they were amplified under the Black-faced Abomination, but you can’t make such a wonderful place so shitty or turn the electorate into imbeciles in just 11 years.
The systemic ruination of the post-nation has been a decades-long endeavor.

        1. Yeah, I was a kid when Pierre Trudeau was prime minister but I heard the adults talk about him. Even the polite adults I knew would swear when Trudeau’s name was mentioned.

I suppose that’s why the Alberta independence movement has support in all generations in Alberta. The older folks have long memories about the Pierre Trudeau disaster in western Canada. Millennials and GenZ got to experience Justin Trudeau’s economic disaster. GenX got to live and get poorer under both Trudeau’s and the federal Liberal governments voted in by central and eastern Canada.

    2. “Yet to many Canadian voters it’s a complete mystery why poverty is rising, inflation is rising, cost of living is rising, unemployment is rising, businesses are closing….”

Au contraire! They have concluded that the object of ALL their misfortunes – that they have voted for since 1968 – is a Big Orange Squirrel that has been sitting for a bit more than a year just over the fence to the south of us.

  3. The level of virtual signaling that Canadians are willing to reach is exceptionally high. I guess we’re exceptional people, just like the people of Los Angles who pay $1.50 more per gallon for the bragging rights of saving China and India from themselves. Sure food costs more. Sure it now costs $150 to fill up your SUV. But it’s worth it.

  4. FILTHY LIBERALS
I think Carney should make Ramadan Mandatory, same as TRANSJENGA.
    EVERYBODY GAY

  5. How symmetrical …
The War in Ukraine … the War on Fossil Fuels.
One was started by a maniacal madman who cares not for human life, death or destruction … the other started by a Canadian Prime Minister

  6. Carney is a cartoon. The guy doesn’t have a clue what he is doing. It will be fun to watch the hand wringing as the property values in the 905 continue to collapse. Where in the hell do Liberals find these nuts?

    1. Dwellers of the 905 area code would vote for a pile of shit as long as it carried the Lieberal Party banner.

  7. Once in a while it is useful to look at the fundamentals. The real purpose of the carbon tax has to be to defer global warming. Right?

So, what is the impact of the tax on temperature? Why don’t we talk about that?

For example, Canada’s initial carbon tax was forecast to reduce emissions by 90 Megatonnes (Mt) in 2022. IPCC science tells us that if this was actually achieved, global warming was deferred by 0.000041°C or 1°C per 24,691 years. Were Canadians asked whether this represented ‘success?’

    https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/syr/downloads/report/IPCC_AR6_SYR_SPM.pdf

Governments and activists always talk about tonnes of CO2 rather than degrees.

The reason is obvious – Canadians understand temperature!

    1. The real purpose of the carbon tax has to be to defer global warming. Right?

Nope. That’s the premise they sold to us, but it’s all about the $$$.

No worries, though. All the best informed Laurentian Elite & other [spit] Progs assure me that the trucking companies, etc., will happily absorb the cost.

  8. For the #Libranos to change the rate or structure of the carbon tax would require them to admit they were wrong.
I doubt they’ll change their direction, and soon there will be a few different social media censors overlooking whatever you say about this.
We’re having a separation referendum in October 2026. Perhaps life here, will change…

  9. Make it make sense. LOLOLOLOL
The price of carbon exists to fund things like Carney’s ten-day European vacation and the attendant carbon emissions that result therefrom.
