I, For One, Welcome Our New Self-Driving Overlords

Do you understand…

… what’s happening at Amazon right now?

Their own AI coding agent Kiro reportedly “decided” the fastest way to fix a config error was to delete the entire production environment. Gone. A 6-hour outage. 6.3 million orders lost.

Amazon’s SVP called thousands of engineers into a mandatory meeting this week. Not to discuss strategy. To discuss damage control.

And more.

@TechLayoffLover follows the engineer bloodbath: 45,000 people are about to be laid off at Oracle. All from AI.

Update (March 23)  – the @TechLayoffLover account is engagement slop.

  1. Suits chasing profits ignore engineers. Suits then blame engineers and have them fix the problem. Suit will then fire engineers.

  2. when l hear Amazon l think of the enormous south american jungle full of mystery and sometimes danger. am l supposed to do that? p.s. l have NEVER ordered anything via Amazon, closest thing have a tenant do so and pay them the price + handling fee.
the fact stuff that didnt arrive they just shipped it again blew my mind.

  3. How many of those jobs are actual cuts and how many are just shipped to Pakistan or India?

  4. Wonder how this little cluster will impact the AI-based tech bubble in the financial markets?

  5. Can we get whoever coded that poop-storm to do the same to the federal computer systems? Then maybe the chartered banks?
