uhuh. ‘tax the rich’ is high schooll level strategy. aka ‘if taxes bring in revenue then tax the living snot out of them. there. problemo solved’. BLAAAT wrong answer !!!
l studied some economic courses way back late 70s. learned about price inelasticity. without boring you how it works, suffice to say the clever marketer can LOWER prices and see profits leaps and bounds. its called ‘find the sweet spot’, lower prices to draw sales but not so low as to erode profits.
same here, shield the billionaires who employ 100,000s, get your tax revenue mostly from THEM (the employees and thriving businesses) and voila!!! but noooooo, that grade 10 naive logic triumphs.
and notice how bad it is, the exodus began BEFORE the law was in place and STILL the high schoolers in charge pushed it through.
hopeless. ungodly hopeless. it would interest me to find out how many of WA legislators have econimics courses on their CV as opposed to, oh, say, heavy on gender studies?

Here in CA, where we live under the Great and Terrible Spirit of San Andreas … highway and roadway projects are delayed/deferred as a matter of policy. Why? Because allowing the roadways to slowly, then suddenly, deteriorate is a strategy to … “get people out of their cars”™️… and onto mass-humanity transit … like CA’s high speed [sic] train.
