The Federal Crown has stayed all charges against two Calgary residents who were arrested last year after nearly 8 kilograms — roughly 17.5 pounds — of fentanyl were found hidden in their vehicle during a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway in Saskatchewan.

Swati Narula, 27, and Kunwardeep Singh, 29, each faced one count of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking. The Public Prosecution Service of Canada entered written stays of proceedings against Narula on February 24 and against Singh on February 27, Swift Current Online reported Monday.

There was no explanation for why the narco-suspects walked free, beyond the standard policy language the prosecution service has cited in a number of similar cases…

  11. If the reason the charges were stayed is that the crown had no prospect of having a conviction, whose fault is it?
    Are the RCMP that inept?
    Are the crown prosecutors that inept?
    Is the judge that inept?
    If it isn’t that one or more of this group are incompetent, then what is it?
    If some of these are inept? Then why are they not being dismissed? Why are they being rewarded with continued employment, when the task at hand is out of their reach?

    Have they all failed, because they’re #Libranos? and that’s what #Libranos do?

    2. Probably the RCMP was inept, we pulled them over for a broken tail light, tail light in dash cam is not broken, we searched the car because they where Sikh.

      Not sure of what level on ineptness on the prosucutor or judge would be enough to toss it out. Maybe If they lost the fentanyl or lost all the paperwork.

  12. I’m wondering if charges against immigrant truckers are being dropped, because:
    a) the Liberals want competition from immigrant truckers to put those nasty Liberal challenging truckers out of business
    b) like the Dems in the States, the Liberals are seeking support from immigrant voting blocks.
    c) both of the above.

  16. One of the suspects mentioned in the article was named “Manpreet Singh”. That is as common a name among New Canadians as “Linda Smith” or “Jean Tremblay” was back when Canada meant something.
    Give them credit for knowing the cracks in the system.

On January 28, 2025, officers from the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol were conducting proactive patrols along the Trans-Canada when they stopped a vehicle with two adults near Swift Current, a prairie city of roughly 17,000 people that serves as the regional hub of southwestern Saskatchewan, positioned at the junction of the Trans-Canada less than 160 kilometers from the American border.

    So … they had a taillight out? … and the Police searched under their spare tire? There’s a Mack Truck’s worth of missing information about this “proactive” traffic stop. Instead … we get an encyclopedia of geographical info. Who writes this garbage? Isn’t there a decent journalist/reporter/investigator working for the media anymore?

    Just a couple of innocent Punjabi’s driving across Canada? Unjustly hassled by the PO-leece? Because … they weren’t white on The Prairies? That appears to be the subtext of this disgusting story.

  21. Excellent article written by a real journalist Sam Cooper, who also wrote Willful Blindness about the Chinese communist party and Chinese triads operating in the casinos in the lower mainland. I recently bought it from Amazon and it’s well worth your time and money. I highly recommend this book to everyone. The politicians, the courts and police…everyone’s in on it and the amount of money laundered is staggering. Willful Blindness indeed.
