How is this different from the New York Jets and Giants? East Rutherford, NJ is home to both professional football franchises in New York. The same Cook County Democrats that spent taxpayer money to renovate Soldier Field in the 90s, still run Chicago and the rest of Illinois.
Some fun info about Wolf Lake that straddles the IL-IN border and is part of the area for the proposed stadium.

Local lore has it that Wolf Lake is so polluted from chemical wastes, that a body starts dissolving when it hits the water.
A dear friend, and her husband, live very close to the lake. Every year, I attend the annual http://pierogifest.net there. Good people in that part of Chicagoland.
Elections have consequences. Chicago and Illinois gets what it voted for. The down staters are screwed, as they can’t out vote Chicago and Chicagoland (and East St. Louis) and have now been gerrymandered completely to the point I don’t think they can do anything.

Funny, I don’t recall so much consternation over the Oakland Raiders … or Oakland A’s moving to Vegas. Why? My guess is because the owners were cast as greedy capitalist sons of bitches who just wanted stadiums that weren’t toilet bowls in the ghetto with no parking. How dare they. The taxpayers aren’t gonna fund their playgrounds!
Not to worry! The communist racists running the city of Oakland and The Coliseum Board has a BLACK buyers group who are buying the aged concrete toilet bowl in the ghetto …

There are a HUGE number of Indian nationals in the SF Bay Area. I worked with several of them. And yes, they are all die-hard cricket fans.
There is something endlessly amusing to me if any defunct stadium in American became a thriving center for cricket!
Indeed … and MOST of em live in Fremont … just south of the Coliseum. Hey! I don’t understand it at all … but I’d enjoy watching at least ONE Cricket match. But … it’s rather pathetic how the Communists ruining Oakland actually BELIEVE some fringe “international” sport will replace the Raiders or A’s. Or the “Oakland Roots” B-league (read: rec. league/pub league) soccer will replace the Raiders and A’s
You heard it here first … the Chicago communists will be doing the same thing … “who needs the NFL?” … they’ll claim AFTER they tried to sue them into staying.
Doesn’t it boil down to which state, Indiana or Illinois, gives the most taxpayer money to millionaires?
More like which state will increase the taxes on said millionaires and billionaires. And we know which state is set to do that.
It’s almost like if you raise taxes the rich (and their companies) will just move — see NYC under Mamdani (and Hochul will probably do the same to the state after the midterms; she’ll run on not raising them).
