   The number of teachers increased by 8%

   The number of principals and assistant principals increased by 37%.

   While the number admin staff increased by 88%.

   Only 30% of 8th graders are proficient in reading.

   California department of education estimates that total funding (local, state, and federal) for K-12 education in 2023-24 was $129 billion, or $23,791 per student.
