  1. Well isn’t that just perfect. Why sell it to your neighbour and partner for the last 200+ years but sell it to the Communist Red Dragon. Makes total sense…

  2. So, most of the larger oil patches are located in Alberta and Saskatchewan….yes? Ottawa doesn’t seem to be very good at this leverage thing.

  3. Here we go. What would you do differently if you wanted the U.S. to step in? The National Security Strategy
of the United States of America (November 2025) is only 33 pages long. Can somebody read it to Carney?

“…we want a Hemisphere that remains free of hostile foreign
incursion or ownership of key assets, and that supports critical supply
chains; and we want to ensure our continued access to key strategic
    locations.”

“We will deny non-Hemispheric competitors the ability to position forces or other
threatening capabilities, or to own or control strategically vital assets, in our
    Hemisphere.”

Agree or not, this is the U.S. position.

    1. Looks like your government is busy 6uilding 6ack 6etter … transitioning away from Western Capitalism in favor of State operated Authoritarian Communism.

      Enjoy your 100% tariffs.

    1. Just perused the Canadian constitution. Ottawa cannot force any province to sell control of their provincially owned resources to a foreign entity.

Section 92A of the Constitution Act, 1867, provinces have exclusive jurisdiction over the exploration, development, management, and conservation of non-renewable natural resources within their boundaries.

So, what the hell is Tim Hodgson going on about? I can’t imagine Alberta or Saskatchewan letting the Nasty Panda exploit primary resources of their provinces. And, I’m quite sure both Canada and China wouldn’t appreciate the financial repercussions of such an effort.

      1. “…letting the Nasty Panda exploit primary resources of their provinces.”

They already do that. It’s their policy. Look at canola.

    2. The pipeline talk is clearly separation entanglement. What should be done, through the US, are minimum price guarantees with reciprocating fixed rates for leaner oil times coupled with reduction in pipeline fees with improved destination status via favorable traffic policies with expanded routes and volumes.

  4. There is the theory that when the European kingdoms started colonizing North America it wasn’t to create a thriving civilization, it was all about return on investment.
Even after the US won its independence the British still had a business venture going in upper and lower Canada and the huge tract of land referred to as the Hudson’s Bay Company.
They kept the inhabitants in line by convincing them the biggest threat to their livelihood were those philistines in the US with their republic.
Obviously they were very successful as to this day the minions in the urban ridings of Ontario and Quebec will turn on a dime whenever they are told about the threat to sovereignty coming from the south.
This meme has become quite handy in getting the majority to not see the obvious sell out to a hostile communist regime.
    Cause orange man bad

  5. not only that, what ever happened to all them ‘canadian content’ regs for ages ago?
oh. right. a string of Liberal hypocrite governments

  6. Proud of you smart people here.
Carney is the Scumbag Manager of our country’s Satanic (- see Kenji ^^^ ) decline to Zero. We are the New Gaza to The Great Satan.

  7. L – Referring to his visit to China, P.M. Mark Carnage described it as a “strategic relationship”.
I’d wager that the Five Eyes Anglosphere security group is down to Four Eyes. The fifth one is blindfolded and the group discussion is if, it’s leader should be wall adjacent.

Independent or a vassal state of the C.C.P. ? ? ? I bet that pipeline south and over to the U.S. West coast could be fast tracked and built in record time.

  8. They have been doing it for a long time already. Besides Nexen, Sinopec has been nipping around here and there, as has CNOOC. That’s the thing about publicly-traded companies and the Chinese knowing precisely how to work the system.
