      The idea that Canada was going to start doing major trade with China, though? That was definitely clueless.

        1. Carney comes out of Oxford. It is a finishing school for globalists and their “useful idiots” i.e. Marxists. Oxford and the London School are are branch plants of the City of London. If you think that is a geographical reference, educate yourself. This is a war, on one side Trump, Putin and Xi, and on the other the centuries old European banking cartels and their colonial ways, and the establishments they have funded, e.g. The BoE, the BoC, the Fed, the Five Eyes, and similar elements within Russia and China. Each of those leaders faces an existential threat from inside, none more so that Trump, the removal of the $50 Billion USAID cancer was a masterstoke, every dollar of that was against the interests of everyday citizens and for the globalist cause.
          Three other presidents in US history went up against the real power of the Europeans, Lincoln, McKinley and JFK. Is it any wonder Trump has Blackwater watching the US SS?

      2. Carney is actually very very smart. Undoubtedly smarter than any of us here.

        So, look to an alternate explanation.

        1. Certainly Marx Carnage is “smart enough” in much the same way as B. Hussien Obama was smart enough, there are a lot of smart people in gov’t, and in business, or in academia, who just happen to be garbage human beings. Being smart doesn’t excuse them for making poor choices, or not having principles, or not testing the waters of criminal behavior.
          It’s separate from being a “good leader”, we shouldn’t confuse “very smart” with their propensity to rule over us like a part of royalty, without having anyone to answer to, while on his way to consolidate power.

    BTW there is no such thing as free trade.

  10. It seems obvious what’s going on. By “implying” a trade agreement was reached with China he violated certain clauses in the USMCA, making it that much easier for Washington to eliminate that agreement and do individual trade agreements with Canada and Mexico (which is the focus of the White House, but must be approved by Congress). This coincides were Canadian diplomats who spent the last week in DC lobbying congressmen to challenge Trump on his economic strategy including anniliation of a tri-lateral trade agreement. The (I think labor attorney) interviewed on CNN said she was confident the USMCA would continue because there would be enough congressmen unwilling to discard it.

    I’m sure the great menagerie of self-proclaimed at leaders at Davos also had advice for him. After all, they gave him the all too rare standing ovation after his speech. Incidentally, France (Macron) just popped up the other day mentioning that they were in talks with China to have the Nasty Panda make large investments in key French industries.

    1. Oops, it was the Canadian Ambassador that did the interview (Kirsten Hillman). I found the piece I read on it. It was over on the Conservative Treehouse. Canada, does indeed, appear to be depending on Congressional opposition relative to dissolving the USMCA (Or CUSMA depending on what side of the boundary you’re standing on). And, while she doesn’t mention how securing a trade agreement with China would harm this hope, Carney does above. Violations of the USMCA would effect this Hail Mary strategy.

  13. Any man that will lie to your face in public with no guilt is a narcissistic sociopath. He is worse than Trudeau in that he might be a bit more intelligent, but do not be deceived, he is in it for the money and whatever power he can grab. An underachiever that is hell bent on impoverishing Canada and selling the assets so that he can profit and become head of the Politburo.

  15. The recent China-Canada trade deal is very limited in scope, and it’s a good deal for Canada. It does not expose Canada to greater Chinese influence, and it does not provide a port for Chinese goods to pour into the US.

    And the Canadian official was correct. It’s not a general free-trade agreement with China, and Canada is not pursuing one.

    I’ve never so seen so much fuss over something so innocuous. Everone — SDA, Trump — is trying to leverage it for political purposes.
