Statement from the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister responsible for Canada-U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy:
“As the Prime Minister said this week, Canada and the United States have built a remarkable partnership in our economy and security — and we will remain focused on ensuring the future of that relationship will benefit workers and businesses on both sides of our border.
There is no pursuit of a free trade deal with China. What was achieved was resolution on several important tariff issues.
Canada’s new government is building a stronger Canadian economy, with a plan that is building our strength at home and strengthening our trading partnerships throughout the world.”

The battleship Canada is now mortally wounded and listing to extreme port. The order to abandon ship is imminent. Imperial arrogance has lost the battle, the war, and now its complete identity. The surviving members will of course re-incorporate into the new Republic of Canada, free from the mentally retarded feudal constraints of a foreign British Crown, and its obnoxious praetorian guard, the Laurentian Elite. The United States of America and her allies wish the new independent Canadian Republic well and Godspeed.
I find it puzzling that the word “arrogance” should get hurled against Canada when the reigning king of arrogance and hubris is Donald Trump himself. I’ve lived many decades and have never seen such a display by a democratically elected leader. It’s honestly embarrassing. In comparison, Canada’s response has been highly restrained.
Canada is a sovereign nation. There’s nothing wrong — and a lot right — in reasserting that fact.
Canada’s King is sovereign. You as a Canadian are a Subject of that King and are not sovereign. Only US citizens are considered sovereign. Canada, her institutions, and every single tangible and intangible asset within Canada are the personal and private property of that King. You are simply living in his house.
You must be American. Only an American would be say something so silly.
In practice, King Charles has no real power or property in Canada. He’s essentially a non-entity. So called “crown lands” are — in any real practical sense — owned by the federal and provincial governments.
And yes, there is private property in Canada, although the concept is not as well protected as I would like.
Crown lands are owned by the citizens of Canada. Unfortunately they are a commons and administered by a corrupt incompetent government.
Private property is not protected in the constitution of Canada. Nor the right to self-defence. I suggest a simple ammendendment that would solve the problem. An armed citizenry would also make the defence of Canada more practicable.
You must be a racist. Only a racist considers common sense “silly”, simply because an American speaks it. Crown lands are owned by the Crown, not by the people, and not by the governments, which exercise authority, not ownership. Of course the King is a non-entity. The King is not the Crown, he merely wears it for a while. Property of the Crown is not his personal private property, but it is his family’s property and he holds it as scion.
LosD
We doen’t even have land ownership here in Kanukistan, only the “right to use”, and that is an important distinction for financing purposes.
NME666 You are absolutely correct and you are a great Canadian!
What a bizarre statement, this means that you haven’t lived long enough to experience the complete destruction of a once great country under the two Trudeaus, yet you say that you have lived many decades.
Precisely. Those two limp pricks make Trump look like a total piker by comparison.
Justin Trudeau was a terrible PM, but his arrogance was nothing compared Donald Trump’s.
Arrogance is one thing while incompetence is another. Trudeau is both…and it is beginning to look like Carney is as well.
“yet you say that you have lived many decades.”
He also says he is a conservative.
A real conservative. I don’t what you guys are. Populists, I guess.
SewerRat is a David Orchard Con. Yeah, he’s an ENDP tool, he just can’t say the word.
Got corn on my populist…
It’s hurled against Canada because Carney is a tiny, powerless, ineffective, idiot, thus his posturing is arrogant.
You may not like Carney, but if you think he’s an idiot then you haven’t been paying attention.
“You may not like Carney, but if you think he’s an idiot then you haven’t been paying attention.”
Oh, Carney is ABSOLUTELY an idiot. Beyond any doubt.
Here is a man who believed that he could make the Canadian voters forget all about the horrendous Liberal record by simply diverting their attention to the Evil Orange Man who was out to CONQUER CANADA [gasp!] unless everyone put their ‘Elbows Up!’ and fought against him by voting Liberal.
He was apparently DUMB enough to think that Canada could get into a trade war with the United States and actually *force* them to comply with demands.
He was MORONIC enough to think that he could publicly antagonize and insult U.S. President Donald Trump –
( a man already well known to not only hold grudges but to swiftly retaliate to any personal slights, real or imagined)
– and that Canada would suffer NO CONSEQUENCES as a result!
He thought he would stir up as much TDS as possible, get himself elected then just go to Washington, kiss the ring and all would be forgiven. Because the US *needs* Canada, right? (…right??). No political fallout, no economic damage, nothing. Back to ‘business as usual’, like nothing happened?
WRONG.
All Carney’s great plans to “diversify” and “open new markets” crashed and burned, as did his appeals to the Europeans for help.
Why?
Because this great businessman/banker/economist failed, like an IMBECILE, to recognize the most basic fact of the matter: that the United States is still the richest and most powerful nation in the world, and that most other nations, given a choice between doing business with Canada or the US will choose the US every time *for their own economic health*. Nations don’t have friends: they have interests, and any deal that Canada might try to make with anyone else could be easily subverted by the US if they were inclined to do so.
(which, of course, they normally wouldn’t be…until the CRETIN Mark Carney chose to provoke President Donald Trump into a personal vendetta against him AND DRAG CANADA DOWN WITH HIM)
Hmmm…
You know what, KM? I may be wrong here.
Reading all of this, I’m beginning to suspect that you may actually be correct about this…because no one could possibly be as stupid as Mark Carney appears to be.
I’m changing my assessment: he’s not an idiot.
He is simply EVIL. 100%…right to his core.
The people who support him are the idiots.
We’ll see how all of this plays out. But Trump trying to dictate to Canada what trade agreements it can enter into is not something any Prime Minister should tolerate. And if Trump insists on wetting his pants over it, so be it.
He is an idiot. And I have been paying attention.
I do think Carney is an idiot.
Why?
Well, because he is driven by idiotic ideologies that are irrational (e.g., “green scam shite” as one example).
Also, he says things like “Muslim values are Canadian values.”
I could go on, but that supports my point that he is an idiot.
Hug BonHomme harder, you unhinged little grey psychopathic puppet.
OK, Marmot?
Unfortunately true. He’s well plugged-in with the globalist cabal and making monery hand over fist. Not stupid.
Yes, if you were paying attention you’d know for a fact that he’s an idiot.
UnDork
Yes that unexpected drop in the crime rate south of the border is troubling.
Unusual situations require unorthodox cures.
Try dealing with your own stupidity, your whining about how Trump mixed up Greenland and Iceland is full display of your STUPIDITY, I’v done that several times, and I’v been through Iceland about 8 times. My friend, a world traveler, who has been to both, also mixed them up just last summer.
So yer insistence that that is a sign of a deterioration of Trump’s mental capacity is a JOKE, and a sign of yer TDS!
If Trump was a typical president, I could fully understand mixing up Greenland and Iceland.
But Trump has been obsessed with annexing Greenland since his first presidency. He’s obviously thinks about it a lot. It’s a major priority for him. That makes mixing the two up rather strange.
If that were the only thing, I’d let it pass. But his behaviour is getting increasingly odd. Constant self aggrandization, countless factual inaccuracies, rambling on about irrelevancies, increasing incoherency, tantrums, blatant contradictions, all point to serious problems.
Carney’s trade deal with China is a case in point. Just a few weeks ago, Trump stated that he was fine with it. Now he’s threatening huge tariffs on Canada over it, even though the deal is rather modest and is of no threat to the US. That behaviour is not normal.
Does noticing that the president’s mental health is deteriorating constitute TDS? Well I thought that Biden’s cognitive health was declining back in 2020. I guess I had BDS.
Trump’s mental health is just fine. Your problem is you can’t keep more than one thought in your head at a time.
I notice you did not deny my litany of bizarre recent behaviours by Trump. I understand why. You just have to listen to his recent White House news “briefing” (almost two hours long). It’s all on display.
https://youtu.be/cbNmipgrJPs?t=2636
That’s where Trump’s ardent supporters are right now — trying to ignore what’s obvious to almost everyone.
Keep quoting MSDNC talking points, rat. You’re outed and fooling nobody with your navel gazing and faux outrage.
The Republicans are making the same mistake with Trump that the Democrats made with Biden; ignoring an obvious deterioration in mental health. They just didn’t/don’t want to hear it. It cost the Democrats dearly, forcing them to run a clearly inferior candidiate. We’ll find out what it’ll cost the Republicans this November.
I don’t think he thinks a lot, at all. He reacts to what people tell him.
Imagine being so obsessed with President Trump that you bring him up in every conversation? So weird. Hope you get the help you need there buddy, I’ll pray for you.
I’ve asked KM the same thing a few days ago, like any addict he/(she?) said “no no no, I don’t have TDS” 🙂
“I’ve asked KM the same thing a few days ago, like any addict he/(she?) said “no no no, I don’t have TDS” ”
Of course he doesn’t. And he’s not a pathetic attention whore either.
He certainly isn’t. Nothing pathetic about him.
I bring up Trump because we all know why LosDeplorables called Carney arrogant — because Carney dared stand up to Donald Trump.
Please. He gives Canadian reporters shit if they aren’t suitably obsequious and axe a question he doesn’t like.
Canadian reporters deserve shit from time to time.
Stood up to Trump? Like the dog that barks and growls until you open the gate? Then it runs away?
Carney didn’t stand up to Trump. Carney made an ass of himself and Canada will pay the price.
Carney has no power, rat.
Zero. Just a figurehead, with a pencil pushing military of DEI appointments.
Only ElBoWZos, digesting every last BT of propaganda believes he wields “new powers” to “lead the world”.
IOW, he’s a pissant.
Canadian reporters deserve shit from time to time.
Canadian reporters deserve shit all the time. But not from the likes of Marx Carnage & the Laurentian Elite. They’re merely egging them on.
“I bring up Trump because we all know why LosDeplorables called Carney arrogant — because Carney dared stand up to Donald Trump.”
I ask the very same question I have asked over and over again, every time you or another of your kind make the same assertion that Mark Carney can/has/will “stand up to Trump!”
WITH WHAT, exactly?
With all the economic, financial, political and military influence that Canada DOES NOT HAVE?? Has never had, and WILL never have? What are we going to do… strongly-worded letters? Scathing editorials on the CBC? What???
Canada is more of a Post National State than sovereign nation.
We should start acting like one- again.
Progs talking tough just doesn’t cut it.
Sovereign is such a solid word –
Post National State sadly defines this barely functioning mess we find ourselves in.
This country is a shadow of what it once was , why?
People adhering to a Liberalism that has morphed into a insane nothingness.
Trump doesn’t give a fk about a washed up country.
Deal with it ……….
It shouldn’t be hard for you to figure out.
I’m getting sick of the whining from people that haven’t be paying attention.
You sound like most people I’ve had to say Trump had nothing to do with our decline.
Their heads were either in the clouds or up their arse.
What did you think would happen when Carney came back wiping his chin , then his The Brain impression and – New World Order speech?
You sound like most people I’ve had to say Trump had nothing to do with our decline.
This. In spades. Anybody in Shitholistan who thinks Trump is the problem doesn’t have an f’ing clew what the problem actually is.
Clutch those pearls any harder, you’re going to break the string.
Your TDS is what’s puzzling, given so many here understand Trump’s use of power over politics.
Whining about his “arrogance” only reveals your ignorant timidity Un Mini-Me. Living and not learning.
What you call “restrained” is cowardly shots with blanks and international relations middle power seminar shit, an feint for bypassing the US for a “rules based system,” itself only possible with US power projection.
Canada is a sovereign nation. No shit, Sherlock. But who or what is sovereign, swamp slurpers or citizens?
True. No one is negotiating a free-trade agreement between Canada and China.
The recent deal is modest in scope; a limited number of Chinese EVs for Canadian agricultural products. It’s bewildering why so many are getting their tails in a knot over it. It doesn’t undercut Canadian sovereignty or open the door for Chinese goods to come pouring across the Canadian border into the US.
Trump’s apoplexy over this is all show. He’ll throw some toys around the room but quickly find some other distraction.
The toxic Chinese rat is in the canola field.
Yeah, whatever that’s supposed to mean.
Killer unME
Are you gay, like Jessica the Colon????
The poppies are in the field. But don’t ask me what that means. I’ll wait around…
And letting overproduced junk EV’s from China into Canada is absurdly stupid. That is exactly the problem that was warned about regarding Chinese steel that was making its way through Canada into the U.S. Carney is a China stooge…no question about it.
“In China, you can buy a heavily discounted “used” electric car that has never, in fact, been used. Chinese automakers, desperate to meet their sales targets in a bitterly competitive market, sell cars to dealerships, which register them as “sold,” even though no actual customer has bought them. Dealers, stuck with officially sold cars, then offload them as “used,” often at low prices. The practice has become so prevalent that the Chinese Communist Party is trying to stop it. Its main newspaper, The People’s Daily, complained earlier this year that this sales-inflating tactic “disrupts normal market order,” and criticized companies for their “data worship.”
This sign of serious problems in China’s electric-vehicle industry may come as a surprise to many Americans. The Chinese electric car has become a symbol of the country’s seemingly unstoppable rise on the world stage. Many observers point to their growing popularity as evidence that China is winning the race to dominate new technologies. But in China, these electric cars represent something entirely different: the profound threats that Beijing’s meddling in markets poses to both China and the world.”
The Atlantic, Nov 11, 2025
The maximum of number of EVs allowed in is 49,000 per year — about 3% of the Canadian vehicle market — and there’s no guarantee they’ll even sell.
If they’re junk, consumers will soon figure it out, but apparently the quality has improved dramatically in recent years.
That was not the reason for Trumps 100% tariff threat. Somebody spoke out of school and it was heard.
Forcing one of his ministers, curiously not Carney, to suck back and reload about “no China free trade.”
You seem neither curious nor thoughtful. One feeding the other in your endless loop of ignorant illogic.
You seem to have all the answers, but you don’t actually state them.
But I agree. The China deal is likely a pretence. The real reason is likely that Trump did not like Carney’s Davos speech one … little … bit. It didn’t help that the contrast between Carney’s and Trump’s speeches could not have been more stark.
Iron Man could not have been more stark!
Re: Chinese EV. Michael Campbell on his weekly show “Money Matters,” made an interesting point yesterday, both breathtaking and obvious, which is why are the environmentalists OK with China producing EV with lowering the bar on “fighting climate change” and the unions OK with being undercut by low wages.
Because both their goals are political power, not protecting the environment or their workers’ jobs.
Their tell is to shift from the micro to the macro, from the grass roots to some national system.
Against banning private healthcare, the cure a threat? Cue to “protecting healthcare for Canadians.”
We’re all tired and sore from being repeatedly Carn-holed.
Get used to it, because we are going to keep getting it good: good, and hard.
Damage control propaganda would be more effective if it eschewed the use of the word * partnership * which has warm and cuddly connotations for most people. Trade between two nations is not a partnership; successful trade arrangements may be made between two countries that hate each other provided, of course, that one does not want to destroy the other for some past transgression, real or imagined.
Was this a Freudian slip?
It’s an agreement, not a deal.
Heh, whatever, 100%.
Hey, is anyone going to ask Scott Moe about the rules? For globalists, you know, when can you say it, when did he get initiated, has he eaten a child or raped or murdered any children etc. Because he hasn’t said a thing, so, he’s one of them.
It’s all over for the Liberal Party of Canada;
… the extortion of the Canadian tax-payer which allowed them to become rich
… the extortion of the US tax-payer which caused the nation to go bankrupt slowly
And now their commu-socialism has run out of other people’s money,
they’ve arrived at “all of a sudden”.
Alberta will go on to become a truly Sovereign Nation,
control her borders, and maybe one day,
invade Canada.
Yes, so long as it eschews the Crown and does not become yet another vassal state to the British Monarchy.
Like Frank Zappa said, “The poodle bites! The poodle eschews it!”
Alberta will go on to become a truly Sovereign Nation,
control her borders, and maybe one day,
invade Canada.
LOL. WTH for? Having got rid of the problem, why would we climb back into bed with it again?
And here Dominic thought after Leisure Suit Larry was pushed out the door he wouldn’t have to do double duty as the baby sitter cleaning up after the PM has an accident.
“ … Canada’s new government is building a stronger Canadian economy, with a plan that is building our strength at home and strengthening our trading partnerships throughout the world.”
Cool. So Canada is doing EXACTLY what PDJT is doing for America. Congrats Canada. You should be looking to strengthen your own economy. Just like we’re doing.
Not sure Trump is strengthening your economy, Kenji; that certainly is the story but how do people in the store check-out lines feel? In the UK, they talk of the man on the Clapham omnibus
I’m the shopper of my family in the check out lines. My wife HATES shopping and cooking, so I do all of it. I KNOW the market prices of everything I put in my basket. I know what’s a true “sale price” and what fraudulently labeled as a “sale”. I only buy the REAL sale prices … or I go without and adjust my meals accordingly.
Other than astronomical beef prices … my shopping basket stopped inflating in the Fall of 2024 … when Kamalala couldn’t successfully run on Biden’s > 30% cumulative grocery inflation.
If anything … my basket cost has gone DOWN in 2025.
In Davos, Carney shit on Trump and the US.
End of story.
It’s not about trade or money, it’s about not talking shit about your protector and yugest trading partner.
Don’t like Trump, fine.
Don’t like the US, you’re entitled to your stupidity and ignorance.
But keep your fcking mouth shut if you represent Canada in any way shape or form.
Two different agendas here.
CUSMA is up for renewal. Trump’s extreme rhetoric is just his regular negotiating style – demand the extreme and then let the other guy think he won when he agrees to a much lesser agreement (which is what he was aiming at all along).
Carney is gearing up for a spring election by “standing up to the big bully Trump”. It worked for him last time, it will work equally well this time and he’ll get a majority.
And Canada will go into a deep recession….maybe a fatal one.
Let’s hope that you are correct. A Carney majority would likely destroy Canada as you know it which would be most excellent. Let’s hasten the demolition process so we may all work together to build a truly strong and free Republic of Canada where every single political executive must stand for open primaries and general election.
Could be.
(I don’t think he needs another election, just a few pieces of silver to lure away a few more CINO’s.)
Antagonizing Trump and his administration by saying one thing here and another there is a Black-faced Arsehole move and won’t help negotiations.
That may be but I doubt it given Carney has a defacto majority now, with the Bloc and NDP too timid, frightened and cowardly to defeat him, notwithstanding their anybody but Conservatives pathology.
If he did call an election, with voters now paying attention, he risks showing he’s accomplished little if anything and his handle Trump claims have blown up in his face, reality Trumping Davos speeches.
Why take such a risk? That would be misplaced confidence and arrogance imho. But, leave him to it.
Except for one big thing.
Trump is playing for keeps. They’re hearing the garbage and rhetoric from Carnage and Ford and their minions.
This time around, it’s hardball, not negotiations. Trump, deservedly is putting the screws to Canada. To teach a lesson.
In every crowd there’s a dummy that needs to be made an example of.
Akin to “killing a chicken to scare the monkeys”.
Our politicians are too arrogant they understand.
Carnage’s big empty words impresses the “Elbows Up!” retards. What libtards lack for in intelligence they more than make up for in arrogance.
The US under Trump, unfortunately as I supported him, is adopting a mafia-like approach to international affairs. And, even worse, is confusing international trade with personal relations. This is bound to be to the detriment of wealth. It’s a bad strategy to piss off the whole world.
“Don’t like Trump, fine.
Don’t like the US, you’re entitled to your stupidity and ignorance.
But keep your fcking mouth shut if you represent Canada in any way shape or form”
Well said, Buddy. How stupid would any Canadian politician have to be to not realize this?
To translate Dear Leaders mouth piece.
$7 billion possible trade with China= Yeah!
$430 billion actual exports to USA= Bad!
Libtard maths ?
I’m all for free trade with the US. Huge fan of that. Always have been.
But it’s Trump who is throwing up the major barriers to trade. Bizarrely, many here seem to back that. I don’t think that problem will fully go away until Trump goes away.
If y’all choose to make China more comfortable in your home, then there will be no free passage from your home into our home.
You’re free to do whatever you wish. So are we.
It could very well be that Trump’s successor will have a different philosophy, and will tell us to start playing with y’all again.
But maybe not, and at the very least, not for three years. And at least half of us are going to hold China against you for a long time. So choose your side.
The US is knee-deep in trade with China. You know that, right?
“If y’all choose to make China more comfortable in your home, then there will be no free passage from your home into our home. ”
Exactly. Allowing China to circumvent US trade rules will not be tolerated. All Carney had to do was agree to that, take some steps to secure the border on our side, crack down on the fentanyl trade and male some minor changes on the dairy issue…that’s IT. That’s all he had to do.
The ‘great negotiator’ refused to do any of it, and Donald Trump responded in predictable fashion.
I have to ask what Free self made man or women that cared about what matters in life would like Carney’s speech?
I ask this question knowing moral relativism has no bearing on the way out of this
Carney is a malevolent twat full stop.
