Pretty sure the US has too. Look at a food container, if you se a funny m or a COR in a circle or several others, that;s the kosher indicator.
As near as I can tell, the USDA does not certify food as kosher or halal, but allows independent religious org’s. to make such certification. The USDA provides the symbol for their independently certified foods to use … but the USDA makes no such certification.
It’s kind of the same way they deal with “certified organic” food. The USDA just takes some independent org’s. word for it.

I’m not sure if all chicken isn’t more or less halal chicken and always has been. When I was a little kid I used to hold the turkey wings, to prevent bruising, while my father cut their throats. We sold the turkeys head on, guts in. That said, I despise kosher or halal killing. If I see a label that says halal I will not buy it.

I saw first thing this morning that the Feds gave $2.2 million to a halal operation in PEI.
The biggest takeaway I got from Effraim Karsh’s book, Islamic Imperialism (King’s College, London), was that the explosive expansion of islam could not have occured without the active collusion of non islamic political and Christian religious leaders.
When visiting the grocery store, there are times I’m really tempted to drop an armload of bacon packages on top of the ever expanding displays of halal meat, if only for shits ‘n giggles. It would undoubtedly make the evening news, perhaps even nationally with a pearl clutching host offering the standard trigger warning that the story “may be offensive to some viewers”, but in this day and age of widespread security cameras and doxing, I always (non-halal) chicken out.
