They don’t even hear themselves anymore: [The Premier said] the U.S. location means that Saskatchewan potash will be hostage to the “whims” of President Donald Trump, who could impose tariffs on the exports or shut them down altogether.

” ….Saskatchewan potash will be hostage to the “whims” of President Donald Trump”
Preferable to the “whims” of the sweetweed and eagle feathers crowd.
?
duz eby know sumptin we’se swirling masses dont?
given the time to construct, wd el presidente Trump STILL be in office?
hmm?
answer the Q BC jerkoff. . . . . . . . silence.
Eby is that ex girlfriend who hates everything about you and constantly talks trash about you to her friends but loses her effing mind when you date someone else.
Someone send Eby a cd of Steve Holy’s song Brand New Girlfriend
I guess the trait that will define the neo-feudal progressive set will be extreme obtuseness.
“How dare you bypass the limits we put on your prosperity”
That’s the feel good story of the week.
Alberta and Saskatchewan together would be one of the most amazing countries on the planet.
Once we get rid of our collectivist clowns, BC can join the party, making a nation that will literally rock the world.
I don’t know about that. Too many here in BC are addicted to government dependence, the grievance industry, and outright socialism.
I suspect many of the Chinese that escaped China and HK, were only too happy to maintain their socialist ways from the old country.
This province is not what it was 40 years ago. Too many vaccinated, Brain damaged zombies.
AB and Sask should ignore BC and treat it like an incompetent spoiled step-child.
Witness Carney’s Two-Faced approach to a new pipeline. All smiley faced with Danielle Smith, but does she realize she’s getting played? Does she? Meanwhile, within days, Carney washes his hands and says it’s up to Drugstore Davey and his whiney Injuns.
Smith is getting played by Eurotrash Carnage.
It’s not the first time Ms. Smith was played. I still haven’t forgiven her for that.

Jamie, I was just about to type the same thing.

Alberta and Saskatchewan together would be one of the most amazing countries on the planet.
Maybe that’s the reasoning behind Trumps 51st state.
Let me explain.
Alberta & Saskatchewan leaving Canada take Yukon and NW Territories with them.
They Join up with the US.
Greenland decides to join the US.
This now makes the US owners of the NW Passage.
Nunavut would never join the US. The US would never pour in $100,000 spending per year per capita like Canada does to quell the Eskimo whining.
Not only does this give the finger to Comrade Eby, his drum beaters, Jacobin Judges, and tree huggers but it gives a message to Caesar Carney that in a business friendly environment, projects get built without the thumbs-up approval of a green Banana Republic despot to theoretically get around the glacial dead hand of the state of regulatory and shakedown purgatory that now exists in the deranged dominion.
Eby goes on television and insults Premiers Moe and Smith by saying they’re like tourists in sandals who don’t know what they’re doing regarding pipelines and shipping in BC. Eby and the BC NDP have been intentionally damaging Alberta’s economy for over a decade by blocking pipelines and supporting the oil tanker ban. Eby has made BC uninvestable because of land claims, labour issues, terrible infrastructure, insane regulations and one of the worst ports to ship from in the developed world.
But now Eby is upset with Moe because the world’s largest potash producer, located in Saskatchewan, doesn’t want to ship out of BC ports. Eby should be more worried that other prairie mining and agricultural businesses will follow Nutriens lead and also bypass BC ports. It would cost BC billions in revenue and thousands of jobs if they lose prairie potash, uranium, grains, etc. to American ports. BC will lose even more if Alberta decides to turn off the taps of refined oil to BC. Alberta and Saskatchewan should also step up inspections of semi truck and train cargo coming out of BC to search for drugs.
Play with fire long enough and eventually you will get burned. Alberta and Saskatchewan aren’t actually landlocked because we have a long border with our biggest customer, the US. Canada is far more hostile and abusive to Alberta and Saskatchewan than the US.
Yup, what you said; but all of this is a mystery to regressive progressives and partisan parasites. They expect the West to keep them in the lifestyle they’ve become accustomed to, but that divorce settlement is off the table,
Playing nice with the rest of Canada has not benefited Alberta and Saskatchewan at all. If anything, it’s made the situation worse because Canada never experiences negative consequences for their terrible behavior. The time has come for Alberta and Saskatchewan to insist on being treated with fairness and respect or get out of this toxic and destructive relationship with Canada.
1000% agree with you……….moved from AB to BC in 2009 BUT came back to AB…those BC COMMIES WERE JUST TOO MUCH TO TAKE………….I want AB & SK to be FREE from Ottawa’s grasp…..ENOUGH ALREADY……….let’s keep those transfer payments here in AB……
That’ll finally pick up a few eyebrows from international investors for other opportunities,
and stick in the eye for Ot-Ah-Wa.
Another chapter in The End of Canadien.
Eby thinks he has a nicer sand box. And … if you can ship potash to international markets through Washington State then you can ship crude oil. If you can ship crude oil you can ship American coal from an American port which currently travels through Vancouver. I honestly don’t think these people (Eby et al) get it at all. If you insist on building a house of cards …
Eby is unelectable due to his China ferries, denial of drugs to a dying girl and dropped ball on land ownership.
Dead politician walking, with TDS spent, so no bogeyman, voters soon not subject to Eby’s incompetent whims.
Wrong, Shamrock. Eby is very electable. The Conservatives are fighting amongst themselves more than they’re fighting the NDP government and the majority of votes are in the lower mainland where most of the evironuts live. If an election was held to day he’d get a majority.
Yeah the Con/United/Liberal/Socreds are a destructive divided entity, that leaves everyone worse off.
The biggest problem within that coalition, are those aligned with Federal Liberals. These are the idiots giving BC to the NDP. They’ve earned the moniker of NDPLite from the former United entity.
OneBC is a breath of fresh air and is causing immense problems for turncoat Rustad. He’s turned out to be just another FISH of a leader.
The only way to fix this, is to cheer for the economic crash in BC. It’s not far away. Studying the Nutrien decision should be a wake up call to all corporate entities. BC is not a friendly or economical jurisdiction. The morons that support NDP Liberals will never understand until the financial system locks up, unemployment screams higher, etc.
That’s a solid assessment. This planning isn’t being done on a whim. There are Nutrien LTD. representatives with a direct phone line to Scott Bessent’s office, I can assure you. They had representatives down in Washington rather recently. The whole investment is over $1 Billion, which includes building a large terminal to accommodate the Potash so it can be shipped to the Pan/Pacific. At the same time, I’m sure Nutrien sees this as a way to negotiate concessions on behalf of the US government for other aspects of their business. This, also, helps out US farmers looking to purchase more fertilizer from them.
It would seem that whomever is driving the decisions at Nutrien LTD. ignores the rhetoric and is more interested it satisfying investors. And, I think you’re right, Steve. This could set a precedent and start an avalanche of similar deals.
Iaboriginal lawsuits for land claims that include hw1, rail lines, port facilities etc will advance praire sovereignty from Canada and tie us more to the US. The economic momentum strengthens with announcement.
If the Port of Longview wants to thrive, put in a dock for exporting coal so Vancouver doesn’t have to hold their nose while getting rich. Maybe Longview would like to handle Alberta grain as Prairie exports are so odious.
Taxes and regulations.

But, but, but … the newcomer fake licensed truck drivers can’t deliver the Potash to port anyway. They’ll all rollover onto a family sedan killing 4.
Trains Kenji. They come with their own tracks.
They also come with long-ass waits at level crossings.
A catering truck could make a fortune at a level crossing at harvest time, and do quite well when its just oil tanker cars.
Eby should leave politics and open a tea shop. But he’d have to pay me royalties for the name!
