There is one out in Port Kells (Surrey) that lifts both the tractor and trailer, but they have a mechanism to fasten them pretty securely before they lift.

One of the last comments on the video was about how good the kingpin was for that tractor/trailer rig. Well, I’ll bet it isn’t a really good kingpin any more.

Weeks later that kingpin is going to fail and the resulting accident will kill somebody. And because they got away with it this time with no apparent harm, they will keep doing it. So what was the reasoning to do something this stupid?
