Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Trump is very entertaining.
Sitting there, obviously as reverential and submissive as he could be, you could tell Carney’s little balls were crawling up into his body cavity.
I think Andrew Coyne would feel much better without his Great Pumpkin.
I’m happy with the current PM of Canada being a #Librano as with every anti-western misstep it feeds those of us advocating for AB/Sask. separation. There was a contingent of representatives from AB visiting The White House about 2 weeks ago, apparently well received by The Man In Charge there.
So I expect the Marx Carnage to report to Canada’s bailed out MSM that a deal has been struck which suits and protects Canadians. Even while our economy is flushed downstream and it becomes clear our greatest threat is from our own federal gov’t and not from foreign entities such as the USA. The Marx Carnage hasn’t acted upon any of the 10 or so items our Premier has demanded change from, for AB and the west. Our Premier Smith has asked him about this and she states her meetings with him go well, but when it comes to substantive change, the Marx Carnage promises roses, and delivers garbage, and there’s a long list of major Canadian companies laying off hundreds and 1000’s of employees. Look to see who those companies donated funds to in past elections and it’s always to the same gangsters who rape us daily now.
When the announcement of details from this meeting is made public, don’t be surprised that it is another shit-sandwich for Canada. Another plate of garbage from the overseers who seek to phuck us dry.
marc, your comments are always astute and agreeable.
However, as much as I, like you, would love to see wexit happen, it is a pipe dream.
I could dream of Alberta, sask, and most of BC forming a western republic, but it is a dream.
Just look at the last 2 mayors of Calgary, and the last 2 mayors of Edmonchuk, and the majority who voted for that, as well as those who voted for red rachel….etc.
If a referendum were to be held, about 5% of Alberta would vote wexit, and maybe 20% in sask. BC wouldn’t be allowed to vote. Hell, I live in the Okanagan where I thought it would be a bit conservative, but they just voted Feur back in, thanks to lackluster Grey.
The west has been infiltrated and dying cowboys ain’t gonna swing the pendulum back.
They played a long game.
Moe and Smith are seemingly trying, but more for a few sectors, not for the larger intention
OK….rebut my gut feel, ya’ll.
Total pipe deam, westerners are Canadians first, and as such coward sheep. Carney and the Libranos would say Boo! and westerners will pee their pants and beg forgiveness.
Not ALL westerners, mostly Citiots, but not all are, but we are in the minority, certainly!
Not so fast.
I like AB and SK and all my wife’s and my vacations are in BC and and AB as we live within minutes from the US/Canada border in Montana, so we know Canada somewhat better than many Americans. We were just shopping in Calgary and doing some banking business there.
Trump is a deal maker. What if Danielle Smith, whom I have met, goes to Trump and says, look we have this oil and gas and you like fossil fuels, too. What will you offer Alberta if we choose to be independent of Marxist Ottawa, so on and so forth.
Trump might just come up with something, and give Albertans a deal they can’t refuse. I mean a nice deal, not a Godfather like deal. Trump says, “You Albertans want to be rich and independent? Here’s the deal.”
As I say, Trump is a deal maker.
Yes, our President is a deal maker.
Here is the thing about deals though: why go for a small deal when a big deal could happen? Alberta and Saskatchewan would be very small deals — settling deals, not asking ones.
And Alberta really isn’t in a position to ask for any offer from the United States; the only card they hold is their oil — that isn’t enough. My country might settle for a deal with Alberta/Saskatchewan, but it isn’t a starting point.
stevie and Johngalt9944 …
100% think there will be a referendum on separation, possibly next spring, at the latest in the autumn.
The timetable is set out for this, the gov’t has indicated they’ll respect the signatures gathered in support of this, and the pro-separation side has had sufficient initial support at their website, which is needed in order to put this to a vote.
Some polls from the gov’t supporters say separation has about 10% support, (similar to any political push poll) some from the pro-separation side are showing +40% support, and rising with every utterance from our PM Marx Carnage.
Premier Smith had tabled for the federal gov’t, a list of 10 items she wanted addressed by the federal gov’t over the next 6 months or they should expect a constitutional crisis (those were her actual words) It’s been 8 months now, and Smith’s given him some extra breathing room with their ongoing tariff struggle, and from the federal gov’t there are always smiles and handshakes, but there’s been absolutely nada in real responses from the feds to that list. It’s like it was all “just a dream”. Totally ignored this.
Whichever way the cards fall, I’ll have to accept that result. Of course I’m stocked up with a few bottles of Bushmill’s Black Bush Whiskey for this (I bought extra when I was working in Ft Mac 2019-2020 at the hospice construction site and found that I was the one drinking the least in our crëw as I typically only poured 1.5 ounces on top of my 3-4 times weekly ice-cream AND I’m zzzzzz by 10 PM while the others were training for the Olympic Drinking Team).
I’m not just looking at the cities, as the rural populace gets a vote too, and the UPC election was solidly in their corner, NDP support has fallen since then and UPC support is polling at + a few points above election results since then. We last had a referendum in AB regarding the equalization plan, and we won it with 63% to have this re-negotiated … it was brought to the federal gov’t, and they haven’t given a response to it yet. They won’t ignore the next one. You’ll know it’s “incoming” when the federal gov’t moves those ancient CF-18’s out of the Cold Lake military base to either Moose Jaw or Winnipeg. That’s “the tell”
So, while I am optimistic for this, I’m trying to be a realist as well.
If we’re successful, I think the deal between whoever is then elected leader of whatever we’re going to call this place, would do well to propose a fully equal free trade deal with The President of the United States, with the clear intent of not having tariffs between us, and I do think The President would be willing to recognize this new western country pronto, and I do expect Marx Carnage to attempt to draw out post referendum negotiations for the next 30 years. So a declaration would then be the way forward.
We don’t have a decade for this.
We have a year for this.
UCP, not “UPC” uff.
What is forgotten is that many people, even conservatives voted for not on the strength of hwrfather’s name and out of disgust for Alberta conservatives at the time. Will it happen again? I doubt it.
Let me guess, Carney will pull a Chamberlain 1938 “peace for our time” crap.
Great job boomers. Keep those elbows up and the flag flying.
james,
quit being simplistic. You grow more tiresome every time that you cast easy aspersions on “Boomers.”
Some Boomers are to blame, but so are all those gen X and millennial fan girls and beta boys who voted for shiny pony. Remember the photo of Blackie when he first got elected? All the clapping fed workers were NOT Boomers.
In short, stop with the demographic horse manure.
Signed, a pissed off Boomer who has never voted for this shit.
Have a nice day.
Like any good liberal leader, Carney is an expert at kissing ass.
“Like any good liberal leader, Carney is an expert at kissing ass.”
The irony is that Carney is now doing what Poilievre *should* have done if he wanted to win the last election.
“OK….rebut my gut feel, ya’ll.”
Wish I could….but you’re not wrong.
Canada will need to hit rock bottom first, and we’re just not there yet.
Unfortunately ,we don’t have time to wait for rock bottom. The demise will be used to institute digital I.D. and currency. The institution of the pending legislations controlling “hate'” speech and a program of fear will make it difficult to counter the mainstream propaganda. It appears to me that nearly 10 million new Canadians have arrived who don’t necessarily align with “old stock” Canadians no doubt be allowed a voice. I agree it is now or never and while I hope I am wrong ,I believe we are to late.
