Every time I hear/read that “elbows up” BS, I think to myself, “Good! Then when I kick you in the nuts you won’t be expecting it.”
There is no complexity to this. The dichotomy between the US and Canaderp couldn’t be more staggering.
In the US, we continue to see this type of investment, hundreds of millions of new spending by corporations, AND by partnering countries, in US industry and products. Everyone benefits, thousands of jobs created, short and long term. Government coffers grow by the various taxes paid, sales, land, income, etc, preventing the rise in individual taxes from stagnant economies.
And then there’s Canaderp. Foreign capital fleeing the country. Foreign governments NOT making deals. Corporations NOT investing. Massive subsidization by government in failing industries. Businesses winding down operations, and closures. More government borrowing and massive deficits.
We have derelict government in this country. Their end game, is either delusional, or, deceitful. Both do a disservice to citizens of this country.
Mind you, the citizens of this country are mostly delusional, expecting the same gangs that have been in power for a decade, to fix the exact problems they created. Now, that, is crazy.
This country is going to have a hard, hard fall. There is no saviour for this country that will replace the US economy. And no, it’s not China. They would be quite happy to see Canada spiral down the rathole. They would buy the assets at 10 cents on the dollar, much like American interests.

Don’t gauge the economy by the TSX. It’s mostly buoyed by the Big5, the banks performance does not align with the economy, and, they are some of the few businesses in Canada that are viewed as safe to invest your earnings into. Stable, with a pittance paid as dividends.
