Carney’s plan from the beginning was to have the talks fail because he knew failure would gain him more political capital with the gormless elbows up crowd than getting a deal that involved concessions would have.

Tariff related- I stopped at a smoke shop for a bottle of water this morning. There was a line of people panic buying vapes. Apparently there’s about to be a huge shortage of Chinese made poofty vapes. Whatever distributor gets them from China is just holding off, waiting for tariffs to pass.

If at some point the unionized RCMP or local unionized police arrive at your door for questioning about this incident, simply instruct them that you had asked if they are members of these organizations as you are afraid of them and their motives, how you thought it may be a trap, and thought for your own safety it was best to not engage in any further contact.

Maybe I missed them, but up until this I hadn’t seen any “analyses” in the media about how the 35% tariffs that began on August 1st would impact food supply and prices. As we all know, or should know, a large percentage of Canadians are more-or-less living from paycheck to paycheck …

Damn! I was all excited that the Trump Tariff whiners were gonna stage another massive market selloff starting on Aug. 1 … just like Apr. 1. The Dow and Nasdaq were down 550 + 350 points on Friday … and Fridays futures were charting a 600 point drop on Monday’s opening! Boy Howdy! I was already salivating at another fabulous FAKE dip to buy.
