I’ve detailed time and again that Canada is playing games we shouldn’t be playing in these negotiations. I’ve had that intelligence and my reporting verified by multiple sources in government and industry.
We have the wrong negotiating team in place, we are using the wrong tactics, we should change up the roster and the game plan.
Of course, every time I write on this issue and point out these problems I get a barrage from the “Elbows Up!” and “Screw the Americans” segment of Canadian society.

As we grow zero oranges in Canada, Carney will tariff the orange juice imported into Canada from the US.
Tariffs are paid for by the citizens of the importing country to the importing governments coffers.
Export taxes are those imposed on goods leaving the country, Carney has no ability to tax the orange juice leaving the US, only tariff the orange juice coming into Canada.
That our current process is supported by the chicken dance people is a clear condemnation of this country. Canada is useless and deserves a quick death.

(a) get on the Trump train, or

It is not necessary that we like either option.

Canada has 2 choices of who to join with, the EU is of no consequence, Russia is iffy:

Carney and the Liberals don’t give a whit about Canada. It’s people, economy or trading relationships. They only care about being elected another term so that they can continue to line their pockets with our tax money. Once you understand that, their negotiating strategy and bargaining team will make complete sense. I’m just glad that I’m in the position where I can retire early and give this latest troop the double bird salute come tax time. There’s no point in earning under these pillagers. My only concern now will be to find a place in the US and prepare things for my kids to jump ship. There’s no future in Canada anymore.

Your crack negotiating team is waiting until Aug. 31 before completely caving in to Trump. That way … they can claim to have fought the bad Orange man with everything they could.
