With all of the consternation in the world these days, we sense that you’re not feeling very groovy. To fix that, here are a pair of videos of San Francisco in the late 1960’s.
Now that you’re feeling more hip, dudes & dudettes, do share some rad tips for us!

I lived in Marin County where the second video was filmed as a kid in the mid to late 60’s Even as a kid you could tell San Francisco was “special”. On hot days we would drive into the city to cool off and for my brother and I to look at all the “freaks”. My brother and I being the little shits we were, through some pebbles at some Hells Angels as we drove past them. A couple of them followed us for a bit with my parents getting a bit concerned. We heard them ask each other, why are they following us to which my brother piped up about throwing the gravel at them. We paid the price later. Lots of fun to live there at that time.
Thank you for sharing! This must have been a very special time & place to grow up.
Those look like the roads I drove from the East Bay on the way to Stinson beach for a high school “cut day” in 1972 … the long way there. The Marin hills and backroads are simply beautiful … which is why so many Rock Stars bought property there.
Came across this rendition of Hang On Sloopy today:

“Ramsey Lewis’ instrumental version hit #11 in 1965…”
Complete with go-go dancers…good one.
I want to do a medley of “Hang On Sloopy” with “Sloop John B”. But it’s not as easy as it sounds.

“Note on New Trump-Russia Disclosures
Thanks to explosive new document releases, the Russiagate hoax is now exposed, commencing a new era that will be about accountability for the guilty”
“More material is coming. I was working on a different part of this story, about plans for possible charges, when these documents came out this afternoon, so I’ve had to start over. More will be out beginning in the morning. It’s a fascinating moment” (last paragraph at the link)

Yeahhhhh … “the affluence and materialism of our industrialized society and the market economy … but when that’s not good enough?” … the old fool narrates in the late 1960’s suggesting the enlightened hippies were better than that …
Sadly, the PBS puff piece failed to mention that less than 20 years later … that hippie generation became known as the gimme gimme gimme generation of the most money-crazed generation ever. Inheriting and spending the wealth carefully cultivated by their “square” parents.
Yeah … so much for peace, love, and a different way of living. Now, the wealthiest, greediest, most materialistic people in our society are the fossilized husks of those hippies. They now use their fortunes to not only TELL YOU how to live … but they govern to MAKE YOU live the way they decree. Most of those hippies changed NOTHING … and now they are just wrecking the beautiful country and culture handed to them by their “square” parents.

Great Success under Great Leader: Russian banks prepare for bailouts as Putin’s war hammers economy
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/07/17/russian-banks-prepare-bailout-putins-war-hammers-economy/
“At least three of the country’s biggest banks are investigating the possibility of a state rescue, according to Bloomberg News, in the latest sign the nation is struggling under the pressure of its invasion of Ukraine.”
“Officials are said to have ordered banks to avoid disclosing the full level of bad loans and instead to restructure their books to present a healthier image. But this tactic may be nearing the end of the road, requiring support from Moscow.”
“The purchasing managers’ index, an influential survey of the private sector, has fallen to its lowest level since the full-scale invasion began, indicating business activity is declining. Growth is expected to slow sharply this year. Analysts at Goldman Sachs predict GDP growth of a much more modest 0.5pc, despite the vast military expenditures.”
“Spiralling food prices and labour shortages have also pushed inflation into double digits. Ordinary Russians are struggling to buy some of the basics, with even potatoes now in short supply.”
“Analysts at Goldman Sachs expect the rouble to depreciate by as much as 30pc against the dollar over this year, a move that would be expected to further increase the cost of imports into Russia.”
I take it, The Telegraph is next in line to be branded (or rather barked) as a “socialist rag” by Loopy, the vicious lapdog of the Flintstone family from 20000 BC, right?
On a more serious note, I’m all in favour of schweinie-lovers persisting in their blockheaded reality-denial about the state of affairs in Russian kleptocracy (which they call “economy”) for as long as possible. It will make it ever more entertaining to observe the crisis (which was seen from miles or rather months away) unfolding.
unMe
You’v become irrelevant in here!
Is that your way of coping with reality? Just curious.
Just wait until the 20th sanctions package hits! That will really kill the Russian economy! Its in tatters, tatters I say!
> Its in tatters, tatters I say!
The Russian officials do agree with you: Russia on brink of recession, says economy minister
https://www.ft.com/content/f991d318-7b09-4a50-8c8b-132966dea56f
And Loopy got another target to brand (I mean bark) as a “socialist rag”: Financial Times. Like I said, I do sincierely hope that the entire Flintstone Family and their doggie will stay in blockheaded denial for as long as humanly possible.
Your heartfelt concern for the Russian economy is touching, but you need to remember the old Russian expression: “Moscow does not believe in tears”.
No worries, I do remember it. I also remember the full sentence, which goes “Moscow does not believe it tears; it craves blood”. Believed to have originated from the nighbours of early Muscovy whom it subjugated and was treating rather harshly. As everyone can see, not much has changed since then.
Fake quote. Nice try anyway.
Surely the original quote was, “Moscow does not believe in tears, but it wants your pillow anyway”? I can’t remember worth a damn, I was only a boy during the Crimean War, you know.
SDA’s resident “Russia, Russia, Russia” bore demonstrates yet again why it’s the Wan and Lonely Cipher.
BTW, why would I believe any media given their “stellar” dedication to reporting the unbiased truth (ha, ha, ha) over the past many, many years.
“SDA’s resident “Russia, Russia, Russia” bore demonstrates yet again why it’s the Wan and Lonely Cipher.”
(because we keep feeding her the attention that she so desperately craves… ) 🙁
But for those of us who just like to know what’s actually happening:
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/07/amid-collapsing-morale-ukrainians-lost-faith-zelensky-70/
Some highlights from the original Spectator article:
————————————-
“Putin chose war over peace this spring because his spies and generals told him that Ukraine is on the brink of collapse. Alarmingly, they may be right.”
(and)
“Now 47 per cent think that ‘Ukraine will be a depopulated country with a ruined economy’. A separate survey found that 70 per cent of Ukrainians also believe their leaders are using the war to enrich themselves.”
(and)
“Almost 7 million citizens have fled the country, and no less than 230k criminal cases have been opened for desertion since the war started.
More soldiers have deserted the Ukrainian army than there are fighting men in today’s British, French and German armies combined.”
—————————————–
That last one was the most enlightening.
And finally the head of the Flinstone family of cavemen from 20000 BC comes with his faithful doggie at his side, YAWN.
Flinny, you’re obviously far too retarded to understand that, but when you responding to a post about Russian economy with an article about Ukrainian military and allege that it’ll tell us “what’s actually happening”, you’re exposing yourself for what you are: a shit-st00pid windbag with a hyper-inflated ego. You’ve made a fool of yourself so many times here with your predictions (how many years it is since you pompously said “the seemingly endless stream of aid for Ukraine will soon dry out”?) that I’m sure you would have killed yourself long ago if you had any dignity left.
Loopy, I realise that it’s far beyond the intelligence of a caveman’s dog like you are, but you’re doing exactly what I’d like you to do: persisting in blockheaded denial. Looking forward to see your claiming that currency exchange rates and stock market indexes are fake, photos and videos are doctored, etc.
Yawn. You must be the life of the party—-not.
Danielle Smith’s response to the garbage accusations from Jasper
https://x.com/ABDanielleSmith/status/1946221684526403883
What I remember from the coverage at the time. Regional firefighters volunteered to show up but park authorities turned them around and sent them home. It might not have mattered as Jasper fire hydrants were a different size than every other town in the world thanks to Parks Canada’s brilliance.
I looked back. For the Jasper fire the Government of Alberta provided 250 wildland fire fighters for a fire they didn’t cause outside their jurisdiction. Yet, apparently, it is Alberta’s fault.
Diversity is our strength.

Another great video from Ezra Levant.
Two questions, though, for anyone who lives around there:
1) was that a police station across the street, or were those three police cars there for the protest?
2) was that huge red thing a BUS?
