When the Liberals abruptly cancelled EV rebates, they apparently forgot about rebate claims that hadn’t yet been submitted. Guess who’s on the hook for that.
The program provided up to $5,000 toward the purchase of a new zero-emissions vehicle. But with the abrupt suspension of the program — only three days after the government suggested it would be paused when the funds were exhausted — hundreds of dealerships were forced to swallow the cost of any rebate claims they hadn’t yet submitted.
He said that, collectively, dealers are out about $11 million.
That’s gonna leave a mark.
If that program comes back I would expect it to be a little different where the end user get’s the rebate and not the dealer.
That’s a chunk of change to be out for any business.
Another example of pure Liberal incompetence. They could care less about anyone but themselves.

This is what pisses me off …. so much of what Tesla is worth is from these payments from the gasoline / diesel car and truck manufacturers which must buy so called “green” credits from Tesla.
I found this on line ….. A truly wild amount of Tesla’s second-quarter profit – over half of it, in fact – was attributed to the sale of these credits to rival automakers that use them to meet emissions rules, the Wall Street Journal reports. Sure, the money – which is pure profit – isn’t technically a subsidy, but Tesla is still very much benefitting from government programs that are aimed at aiding the development of electric vehicles.
There is no such thing as a “zero emissions vehicle,” it is as absurd as believing in a perpetual motion machine.
I say that to friends I know with EV’s, that they moved the emissions from their tailpipe to the smokestack at the power plant, and it doesn’t register. Unthinking government propaganda repeaters. Canada is full of these sheep. Shithole.

Based on what I’m seeing in the USA … anti-ICE riots and “resistance” … all those newly terminated government DEI chair polishers are being hired by George Soros to throw rocks, fire guns, and shoot weapons-grade fireworks at ICE vehicles.
Bjorn Lomborg once calculated that you need to drive an EV over 60,000 miles to break even on the extra energy needed to make one versus an equivalent ICE – extra energy needed for the more exotic alloys and metals used for light weighting, battery manufacturing, mining of minerals, etc. Like you said, this does not even consider the CO2 emissions from the power plant to charge it.
