    1. Wow! Astounding. We have Tik Tok’ers writing SCOTUS opinions. Oh well, I suppose it could be worse … the SCOTUS could be using editors in India who don’t understand English … like The Daily Mail … who misspell every homophone in the English language.

      And here it was ‘Signalgate’. The left’s ‘Signalgate’ stunt … intended as their “insurance policy” against Pete Hegseth led to a tightening of security that then led to the elimination of Irans ‘sword of Damocles’ hanging over the West’s heads. The more the Left FA’s the more they are FO’ed

    I must admit, not all Russians are as primitive as I thought they were; that Chekunkov guy would need to get high on something a lot more sophisticated than vodka to say things like that.

    1. I believe when Russia banned food imports from “unfriendly countries”, Poland (which had exported a lot of its apples to Russia) had a public initiative called “Eat an apple to spite Putin”. The Russians could now launch one called “light a gas burner for Putin”, but they are probably far too greedy for that. Their idea of patriotism is mostly limited to threatening and verbally abusing everyone who isn’t “Russian” (or one of their chosen pets, e. g. Serbian).

  13. Stevie! I’ve finally moved on (sorta) from my rediscovery of Wishbone Ash … and I’m onto a new rediscovery! ‘Nantucket Sleigh Ride’, by Mountain. Yeah, we all know ‘Mississippi Queen’ by Mountain from their debut lp … but their sophomore lp ‘Nantucket Sleigh Ride’ which got almost NO radio play is their true gem of a record. And the title tune is a fabulous composition that takes the listener on a musical “Nantucket Sleigh Ride” (look it up, if you don’t remember what that is from Moby Dick)

    Now … the guitarist … a ‘Mountain’ of a man, Leslie West does appear to play a Gibson flying-V on this tune … so perhaps my ear is just caught up on the silky tones of the flying-V? But the composition written and sung by bass player Felix Pappalardi is simply superb. It’s also interesting to note that Felix Pappalardi is credited as writing, arranging, and producing Cream’s second album Disraeli Gears … so he may have learned a thing or two from vocalist/bassist Jack Bruce.

    Nantucket Sleigh Ride is a chocolate box of musical styles sampling everything from hard rock, to prog rock, to psychedelic prog. I’m enjoying those tasty chocolates.

      Leslie West was a large player. Mountain could really stretch out a tune and jam. Don’t forget Corky hitting the skins. And, yes, call me Ishmael harpooned and on the sleigh ride.
      The Leslie mention made me recall something. Steve Morse (Deep Purple and Dixie Dregs baby!). Morse recorded two volumes emulating his guitar influences. If you don’t know those albums, called Major Impacts 1 and 2, then check it out. Morse did a fine homage to Mountain on one cut, and he wrote some great stuff to channel Beck, Hendrix, Beatles, Byrds, etc.
      I loved the Dixie Dregs. Lately I’ve also been recalling Spirit and Randy California…The 12 Dreams of Doctor Sardonicus.
      Anyway, musical reader tips back at you, lad.

        Happy Sunday … I am in and out of the house doing some outdoor chores … with my patio speakers blaring. Hope my neighbors enjoy 70’s rock … cause they don’t have a lot of choice … 🙂
