      I’ve heard this is a legit absolution from responsibility for a whole range of criminal behaviour.

  6. Comey worked in the law enforcement and legal community for most of his adult life and he doesn’t know what that term meant?

    I guess the obvious search by the secret service would be to start with his emails to see how many times he’s used that phrase without knowing what it meant.

    Is his next excuse going to be with the Anthony Weiner defence?

  8. In all seriousness, if Comey’s tweet is not dealt with harshly, then it’s the sort of thing that could spin out of control and lead to civil war. That is criminally irresponsible to post that about someone with two past assassination attempts on their life. This is a call to a REAL insurrection and cannot go unpunished; “for the encouragement of others” he must be made an example. Otherwise bullets will start flying in every direction.

  14. Instapundit has a still photo of an interview Gretchen Whitmer (Michigan Governor) gave back in 2020 or so with children’s blocks in the back ground spelling out 86 , 45. Nothing happened.

    Might be alot of “pleading the 5th.”
    You do notice that Comey, on his second tweet, never states that he didn’t know what “86” meant.
    Just that he “didn’t realize that some folks associate those numbers with violence.”

  16. Put Dan Bongino on the case. He luvs Comey. He could ask him questions. Like, “who is the message for?” Or:”Do you think the deep state is upset with Trump’s trip to the middle east?” “You know another guy who sent message like that was Soros? No, not the scotum face, the young nerd that looks like Elvis Costello. Before somebody took a shot at Trump”. He could have the sort of conversation Comey had with Trump and Flynn, without informing him he was a suspect under questioning and without a lawyer present. If he’s not guilty he has nothing to hide, right?

  19. Someone from the side who tried to cancel people for making a “thumbs up” or “ok” hand gesture doesn’t get to hide behind the idea they weren’t aware of the meaning of those numbers.

  20. From what we know about Comey he’s willing to sell his virtue if he personally is about to suffer.
    Let me speculate that should Comey be informed he is going to be incarcerated his tongue may loosen up on a great many things.
