The latter’s choice is how badly he intends to lose (this is de facto Washington’s offer).

    5 ⃣ I think it’s safe to say that Trump’s peace plan didn’t work out – because it couldn’t. On the other hand, a good – purely business, without political obligations, guarantees, etc. – agreement was signed with Ukraine, thanks to which Trump can tell voters that he’s not giving anything away to anyone. What’s more, by accident it turned out that the Ukrainians themselves are now convincing us that they’ve made a great agreement (the real art of the deal). Which will actually help the Americans a bit in talks with other countries.

    6 ⃣ Since there will be no peace in Ukraine – unfortunately – we should expect Russian preparations for a large-scale operation that would resolve the conflict. Why? Because if Trump fulfills his promises, he will start sending a lot of military equipment to Ukraine, and Russia will receive a powerful sanctions blow that will limit its revenues from energy resources. The clock is ticking dangerously for the Russians, because no revenues from oil means no foreign currency and no support for the ruble (if payment is in rubles). This will mean the need to print more money, and all of this together will destroy the ruble even more. The state will be able to continue the war, but the potential return of the economy to peace and to the international market will be increasingly painful. Russia has been on a slippery slope for a long time, but it is getting steeper.

    7 ⃣ Recent talks between Moscow, Beijing and Pyongyang could have concerned a “hard” version of ending negotiations with the US. China’s position on sanctions seems to confirm this. Russia and China will want to jointly put the US under enormous pressure in two different places in the world (Eastern Europe / Far East). It is very likely that Kim Jong Un, threatening South Korea, will also be used as a tool.

    8 ⃣ After negotiating trade agreements with the world – and here a lot is happening at once, which I recorded a material about for you – the Trump administration will be able to focus on external challenges. And it is doubtful that the Americans will give up, especially if they manage to subordinate their partners and allies and the entire West will act as a single bloc, and not a gang of self-interested countries, some of which impose sanctions, and others travel to Asia with a smile to negotiate agreements.

    If this type of concept comes true, the US will have a powerful impact on China’s economy (see its dependence on the import of energy resources by sea and on the export of goods to the EU and the US), and will also put more pressure on Russia.

    What is the up front cost to register as a candidate in a Canadian federal election? I’m talking financial cost….let’s leave the eternal soul thing out of this. Not all candidates are like that.
    I have heard unsubstantiated numbers bandied around from 25k to 100k, refunded if a member gets a certain percentage of the popular vote. This was to discourage frivolous candidates.
    Spent some time on the Elections Canada website, but could find nothing. Either it is not a thing anymore, or particulars are scrubbed.
    So…what is the actual amount, assuming it still exists, and who financed the mayhem of 91 candidates in Pierre’s riding?
    May as well find out for ourselves, as the Investigative Sleuths at CTV don’t seem too concerned.
    If some of our independent media were able to follow the money, it may lead somewhere interesting.
