Sun- Beyond broken, Canada is close to being dead as a country
We feel Vancouver’s pain. But it’s not enough.
Sources told me the man allegedly responsible for this heinous attack had not only had more than 100 interactions with police, there was one in the hours before the mayhem. Hate is hate. Dead is dead. A ticking time bomb is a ticking time bomb.

“Carnage is commonplace. Expected. Tolerated. It’s normal now to have a country that is no longer normal.”
So now people will vote for Carnage?
joe,
that is how they have been incrementally doing it for the last number of years.
slowly but surely, what (was not normal) will (and has) become normal.
carnage is expected, tolerated, and should not be tolerated, but, oh, well, what’s on net flix tonight?
how about a fun brit box mystery, where some old lady solves a crime?
and, hell, let’s skip the dishes again! who needs that 3,000 dollar stove anyway?
let’s vote liberal again. mark carnage is smart and shite.
VOTE TOMORROW
But “elbows up” because “Trump bad”. Meanwhile, the country goes to hell, something that started well before DJT ran for office.
Canada gives you two choices.. The smokey tent or the maid program.. We have allowed experts, lol.. Social workers to feather their beds over public safety.. I’m not sorry that elections have consequences..
What do we do as a nation?.. We elect the biggest sellout possible 90% of the time.. What you want and what you get.. Shameful stuff..
invite millions of migrants who hate you into our country …….. what exactly did you think would happen?!?!
this is the last election for Canadians if the WEF candidate Carney gets in Canada is finished
Followed by the angst performance is an attempt to use a mental health disaster to again support
the Poilievre party:
// No matter how it’s spun, Canadians are no longer safe anywhere. This is the reality as people struggling to make ends meet go to the ballot box on Monday to decide just who is best to clean up this horrible mess.
Maybe it’s too late.
But it’s a choice between a new coat of paint on the group who has seen it all deteriorate on their watch and new crowd who are called too angry for pointing out how insane things have become. But everybody should be angry. //
ibid:
// Do you believe election polls or crowds seen on campaign trail?
a month ago By Joe Warmington Verified Winnipeg Sun //
Tomorrow the verdict.
But, but, but … PUNISHING crime is “mean”. Punishment and incarceration is “angry”. We’ve e-vol-ved past that … Right? Law Enforcement was “getting him help” … they were diverting him into “rehabilitation”. WRONG! There is NO rehabilitation for CRAZY or EVIL.
Rehabilitation should only be granted to legitimate candidates who have the ability and motive to turn from a life of crime. Hint: criminals, and the insane who are interdicted hundreds of times are NOT candidates for rehabilitation. They need permanent incarceration.
Where were the street barriers? I mean really. What municipal police force or modern public safety organization with any kind of current threat awareness does not insist on street barriers these days. Only the totally useless and incompetent
The road was blocked off with signs… and there hasn’t been an attack on a festival here, the last van attack was years ago and it was never repeated, etc.
/government is the name of the things we do together to make sure no one is responsible.
I have a question. Why in the actual eff do we tolerate living in a place where we feel it necessary to install anti-vehicle barriers in front of any place a crowd might be? Does that not strike anyone as unsettling in itself?
Politicians always spout empty drivel.
For example, the politician says, “I condemn that act.”
When asked as to what the politician plans to do about it, the politician responds. “I condemn it. What more do you expect?”
So, is the act of driving a car at high speed into a street full of people “unacceptable”? Or is it “extremely unacceptable”, which makes the response even more serious. Totally unacceptable is somewhere in the middle in terms of unacceptability.
In 2014, when Russia invaded Crimea, President Obama said it was “completely unacceptable”, at which point Russia slunk back into it’s home territory completely cowed by the magnificent rhetoric.
Words are powerful, the pen is mightier than the sword. How many pens does it take to equal one Iranian nuclear weapon?
m’kay, here’s a nasty little question; how many of the now 11 dead voted lib/ndp?
And they will still be voting for them.
None. Fortunately, they were all PPC and CPC voters. Such types have a serial number tatooed in the armpit.
I couldn’t help noticing another example of mental illness crime taking place almost simultaneously to the festival plow. Some crazy guy named Peterhans Jalo Nungu just going around beating up tourists for fun. I don’t feel so bad about that one since the woman he beat up couldn’t wait to get on TikTok and show everyone her injuries. Apparently the guy is such a menace that his mom is trying to get him put away.
Of course, despite a criminal record longer than all our arms put together, he got immediate bail…just like he did a few days earlier for trying to beat up a police officer when his mother called the cops.
“While that may be true, perhaps we should be looking at putting structures in place to make sure mentally ill people who may be prone to violence are not in a secure mental health facility?”
Trudeau the first, made sure that ship has long since sailed. Under the liberal ideology, every one of these people are “fixable” and can be present in society, no matter the cost to society.
The social contract is on it’s last legs here, and no one is going to like what it looks like when it’s completely gone.
Socialists who are opposed to ‘involuntary treatment’ will surely embrace NCR (not criminally responsible). Keeping the maladjusted in the community is a great tool for maintaining social unrest and is good for Socialism.
“There is nothing normal about being mowed down by a car at street festival, people pointing guns at police or being hit with stray bullets”
20 years ago, maybe not, but now it IS normal. Wait for much more of it as Canada goes even more broke under Carney and the justice system becomes even more useless.
I thought we’d end up like Mexico, but we’re more like Beirut in our cities.
“Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre went to a Filipino church in Mississauga to grieve and mourn with members of the community.”
Sorry, I know tomorrow is election day. But going to a church and mourning is not the answer. There are thousands of these people in Canada wandering around, one hit (drugs or alcohol) away from mayhem. Get them off the street now. But nobody, not even the Conservative party, has the balls to do this. It’s too late.
Yeah, that sort of reaction by Poilievre is nonsense. What I would have preferred would be a statement like this:
“Look, I want to be very careful not to politicize this horrible occurrence. I have thoughts on events like this. They are all too common and have been increasing in regularity in the recent past. There are reasons for this. Obvious reasons. And, there are ways to make them less common. But, I will not use the misfortune of others to try and score political points like my opponent has. Instead, I will sympathize with the victims and keep them in my thoughts. After tomorrow I will be in a position to take steps to assure such a terrible event doesn’t occur again.”
IOW…politicize the hell out of it while claiming not to politicize it, and nail Carney in the nads as a bonus.
I have learned that the country I was born in 1955, and built a career in, no longer exists because of the self absorbed ,sullen corrupt Liberals. And my fellow citizens, seem poised to re-elect the evil bastards. Enough. If they win i will truly despise Liberal voters and choose my friendships accordingly.
Place the blame where it lies. The vast majority of baby boomers are selfish entitled children, showered with largess by their hardworking parents, they still elected governments that would take all the work of the past, taxes of the present and the labour of their own children and give it to them. I pray this country disintegrates and fails quick enough to make them suffer unimaginably in their dotage. I will shed not a tear as their nursing homes are robbed, as they are sexually assaulted by care workers from third world hellholes, and every other malady I can dream of befalls them.
shut up. you are wrong. too bad that you hate your parents so much, cuck.
You must have missed the part about there being more millennial voters than boomers. Let’s face it, the government sold the people of Canada the idea that it was the solution to their problems instead of the reason and most of us bought in.
Shrug. The inevitable result of Progessivism. Courtesy of Canada’s big three.
They will bring the flowers and teddy bears, sing kumbaya and light candles tonight. Tomorrow they will still vote Liberal.
Was it on First Nations land?
Arm everybody. Everybody packs heat. See an obvious crime? Shoot the perp(s).
A recent report in America indicated that armed civilians are more effective than LE officers. Since the Liberal party is insistent that we are all safer when there are no guns on the streets it makes perfect sense to therefore remove all cars and trucks from our streets just as they are removing all fire-arms. (Liberal logic). Suppose someone in the crowd last night had been a licenced carrier and had dispatched the perp at some point in the attack there is no dispute that some lives could have been saved and some injuries could have been prevented. Also the taxpayer could have saved some money by the elimination of a trial and the subsequent costs of housing the perp for the next……., what five, ten years. When will we come to the conclusion that the government is wrong and that they cannot protect us all in every given situation and that their collective desire to dis-arm us is fool-hardy. If they cannot guarantee our absolute safety then at least grant us the inherent right to defend ourselves. This is not the first attack and I can bet the farm it will not be the last.
“… at least grant us the inherent right to defend ourselves.”
It is our right to defend ourselves. Because it is inherent it is not something we should ask to be granted, Assert it by using it if/when threatened.
An attempt to dissuade or prevent you from defending yourself against a physical attack is participation in that attack.
I think the crown in BC is going to have difficulty gaining a conviction of this person.
It’s appears obvious he has major mental issues, and proving intent here isn’t easy. He does have 100 past examples of mental issues to prove he’s “not all there” … How many past examples of mental issues are necessary to prove someone is nuts?
I disagree with those who would like to see him hanged, or sentenced to multiple life sentences.
The gov’t mandates only gov’t health care is suitable for Canadians, the gov’t fails to do its part, then the courts and justice system all fail to take the necessary steps to deal with someone who shouldn’t be freely walking about, (or driving) and even after 100 examples of him not being a stable individual, when he DOES kill people, nobody will blame the gov’t health mandate, the gov’t laws which set this in motion, nor the courts which operate as revolving doors without actually doing anything constructive for this person.
I’m not saying he didn’t kill these people, but there’s a difference between killing, and murder.
Vehicular manslaughter? maybe…
If people are going to be “out for blood” on this guy, have a look at how he got here. Ask those who said, “we’re just doing our job” … have a look at the paper trail this person has with all those who are employed in the mental health field. If anyone needs a scolding, have a look at those “professionals” tasked with his care, and who’ve failed for years, and note that your tax dollars are paying for their mediocrity…
