    1. That is one of those “I wish I wrote that” tunes. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hamilton should check with Saskatoon about this. Saskatoon had to close down 2 libraries in the downtown area for 2 weeks, because the staff were too traumatized by finding people who died from overdoses. My city, Regina, is not quite there yet, the downtown library currently acts as a warm space for street people, clean bathrooms, big comfy chairs and a big screen TV in the magazine area for the guys to watch sports.

    2. And are the 115 signatories going to pay for all the added expenses? I didn’t think so.

    1. Are Canadian media required by law to use a person’s preferred pronoun?

      The Torsun headline:

MANDEL: Ontario must cover U.S. surgery for trans patient who wants a vagina — and to keep her penis.

      Her penis!!! Jesus wept.

      1. It didn’t stop there. If you’d continue reading, You’d find phrases like this:
“K.S., who’s sex assigned at birth was male…”
That’s where I stopped reading the article.

      1. Dad went a time or two when he was in Europe with the Air Force. My grandfather was a Welsh motorcycle mechanic/shop owner/race bike sponsor so he’s certain to have gone. Wish he’d left me an old Norton racebike.

      2. Well I certainly hope that those motor cycles are battery powered and don’t use that nasty fossil fuel stuff.
The major reason for the quick, short election call was so that there was limited time to find the skeletons in the Carney closet and what he really stands for. In the event of a Lib majority I expect 1. Guilbeault returns as Environment minister and 2. In about six months buyers remorse will be a thing.
And the fascist commentary on democracy – one (insert modifier) man, one vote, one time.

        1. That’s what happened after the Brits elected Starmer. They very quickly regretted it.

Kanuckistanians refuse to read the writing on the wall.

    1. Thanks. I also posted a note on this before checking here. I think this is a huge story. Canadians are being duped.

  1. Andy Lee:

“Brookfield Business Partners to Aquire Healthscope”
“Healthscope is the second largest private hospital operator in Australia…”

    https://x.com/RealAndyLeeShow/status/1915751757634036083
    Brian Lilley response…
“Mark Carney, Canada’s Liberal leader, says health care is a right in Canada and a big business in the U.S.
Truth is, health care is big business for Mark Carney and his investment firm Brookfield.”
I can’t have more than 2 links in 1 comment here… it’s directly below Andy Lee’s post on X/Twitter and linked above.

    1. $0.09 per mile.

I suppose San Fransicko will add their own local mileage tax on top of the state tax.

  2. the low rider culture thing. l got a question, are the modified hydraulic suspension thingies even approved by safety standars people? seriously. you make those kind of changes to the suspension does that not create the possibility of introducing strength and handling issues? is THAT not high on the safety cetrification checklist?
    boing!! boing!! boing!!!

  3. That Kristie Noem’s a piece of work. Now she’s had her purse stolen at a restaurant. Said she had 3k in cash in it.
Was her secure phone in it?
Wonder if it happened while she was in the bathroom admiring herself in the mirror?

    1. “That Kristie Noem’s a piece of work. Now she’s had her purse stolen at a restaurant. Said she had 3k in cash in it.”

      Yes…and?

“Was her secure phone in it?”

If it was, it was obviously locked. So what?

“Wonder if it happened while she was in the bathroom admiring herself in the mirror?”

No, someone hooked with with their foot while it was under her chair, dragged it out and placed their coat over it before leaving. She felt something move but assumed it was her grandchildren playing.

What’s your obsession with Kristi Noem all about?

      1. She’s a phony.

Did you see her pointing the muzzle of that machine gun in the face of the ICE agent? She passes herself off as a ‘gunny’. No experienced gun handler would pull a stunt like that. Those ICE boys must be laughing every time she comes around.

And how about her shooting a pup that didn’t behave on a pheasant hunt? You know why it acted up? Because you didn’t spend a minute training it Kristi. No pup knows how to behave on a hunt. They must be taught.

It’s no different than when you bring your newborn kid into the world. They don’t know anything. They must be taught. When iread her account of what happened I knew immediately it wasn’t the puppy it was her. She solved it by shooting the pup. Good one.

Sorry, beyond a pretty faceI don’t see much there.

        1. “She’s a phony.

And yet she IS an experienced gun handler (she has been hunting for decades). Look at the picture again, CLOSELY this time: she *doesn’t* have her finger on the trigger and the gun is *not* actually pointing at anyone (and very likely wasn’t loaded anyway). She’s not used to posing with guns, is the problem. Much ado about nothing.

“And how about her shooting a pup that didn’t behave on a pheasant hunt? You know why it acted up? Because you didn’t spend a minute training it Kristi. No pup knows how to behave on a hunt. They must be taught. ”

Ahh,okay… NOW we get to the REAL root of your problem with Kristi Noem: you are just another city dwelling dog owner upset with what she did to an out-of-control hunting dog. Thought so.

(that was actually my first guess, believe it or not…I knew it had something to do with that…)

This has been rehashed already, many times. City-dwellers, who think of dogs as pets, companions “members of our family” who they dress up in cute little outfits and even carry around in strollers will *never* understand it. But still, just for those who don’t yet know:

          1) This was not a “pup” or a “Puppy”…this was at least a teenage dog, well past the puppy stage.

          2) This was a *working* dog, not a pet. Hunting dogs, sled dogs, police dogs etc are NOT pets.

          3) This dog was incapable of being trained. She had been trying…it wasn’t working.

(and yes, she *had* managed to train her other dogs, so there goes that excuse)

          4) The last straw for Noem was the dog GLEEFULLY KILLING some chickens. For fun.

Now people who say “well, just give the dog up for adoption and let someone find it a nice home” are really not clear on the concept…the dog is a killer, and it *will* kill again. Who should she have given it to….a nice family with a couple of toddlers? Don’t be so naive. That would be CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE if the worst happened.

I suppose she could have had the dog ‘put down’ by a vet, sure…but that’s not the way ranchers and farmers handle their problems. Smart people, when they read a sensationalist story like that coming from people who are very obviously pushing it to smear the reputation of a well-known Trump supporter, know better than to accept what they are told by CNN, MSNBC and the NYT/WaPo…and will do at least a little bit of research into it themselves to discover the entire story (in context).

“It’s no different than when you bring your newborn kid into the world. They don’t know anything. They must be taught. When iread her account of what happened I knew immediately it wasn’t the puppy it was her. She solved it by shooting the pup. Good one.”

Like I said, smart people know better.

I like dogs and cats myself…but I don’t anthropomorphize them, and when they start to bite people or kill other animals they *must* be dealt with. That’s just how responsible adults act.

          1. Fred your an Olympic championship at jumping to concussion. Quit flattering yourself thinking you know me – you don’t have a clue who I am.

I live out in the buck brush far from any city. A 45 minute drive to a little town to get milk/bread. Get the picture?

I’ve owned and trained hunting dogs for over 50 years. People bring me dogs to train. Unlike yourself, I’m no expert but I’ve had some damn good dogs and have hunted upland birds and waterfowl all over NA with them. And yes Fred I’ve had to put down my own dogs. It’s heart breaking and when it has to be done I’m like Clayton Delaney in the Tom T Hall song,” I went out in the woods and I cried.”

Enough with your hectoring and lecturing Fred. A coupla days ago you called me a troll. Accused me of being childish, offensive ignorant, an irrational bigot and more.

I could care less if you don’t like my opinions Fred. You don’t like them because they challenge yours. If you hate my opinion that much maybe skip by them and troll somebody else on this blog.

        2. “She’s a phony. ”

You’re the phony…and a flat out LIAR by the look of it.

So, you’ve trained hunting dogs for 50 years but say incredibly stupid sh*t like “When iread her account of what happened I knew immediately it wasn’t the puppy it was her. ”

Sure you did, buddy….sure you did. You train dogs but don’t think she can? And you were heart broken to have to put down your own dogs, but castigate Kristi Noem for doing the same?

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe you just hate strong women…is that it?

          1. Fred do you win all your arguments by calling your opponent names? Or do you sometimes resort to logic ?

One last small point. I’ve put down dogs that were old, infirm and starting to suffer. I’ve never lost my temper and shot a misbehaving untrained puppy. Just sayin’.

      2. It is after all “Kristi” Noem, isn’t it? For a while I thought it was “Kirsti””, and I was trying to get her to adopt a Goth persona named “Kirsti Darkness” and form a band called the Lit Candles. As it is, it’ll have to be Kristi and the Biscuits.

    1. Fighting has started between Pakistan and India

Again? Or, maybe, it’s been a continuous fight since 1947 with a few pauses along the way.

  4. Posters with Quran passages promising men ‘full-breasted maidens’, aka sex slaves, are all over London.

No, no, no, a thousand times no!
You get 72 virgins who are eternally whining at you! “Who do you think is prettiest?” “Am I your favourite?” “Why don’t you take me to a nice restaurant and buy me nice things?” “Tell me you love me above all else.”
