There are something like 2,500 colleges and universities in the US. There are less than five accredited institutions which don’t take fed tax dollars so virtually all colleges and universities are government/private hybrids. Harvard is the most politically connected of them all and rakes in the most doh-ray-me.
Universities and colleges should be split into two sectors….REAL science and pseudo sciences. The REAL science portion should be low cost tuition subsidized by the high cost tuition charge for those choosing pseudo sciences. Then the REAL science portion should retain the title of “university or college” while the pseudo science portion should be referred to as “Kindergarten”. After all, how many baristas does the economy really need?
