Trump said he wanted to drop oil prices. Well, he just dumped about $8 in a couple days off a barrel. We’re now getting into the range where, if it stays there or goes lower, the Canadian oilpatch is going to be hurting, as will provincial budgets in Saskatchewan and especially Alberta, where they based spending on a price around $70 a barrel.

My opposition to wind and other “green” projects (setting aside the moronic, easily-disprovable, anti-scientific lie of AGW, and the lying sacks of $hit pushing it to our detriment and their gain) is the same as my opposition to welfare.
No matter the supposed benefit to some, the funding for it comes from money stolen from others.
Based on this principle, I am opposed to it. No crunching of numbers or presentation changes that basic fact.
It is no different than someone taking money to sell their house so that a business can use “gov’t” funds to tear it down and convert it into a high-density multiplex. Regardless of the argument that the recipient might provide to their neighbors (doing it for their children, donating some of the money to charity, etc.), at the end of the day their neighbors suffer and the once-quiet neighborhood is transformed for the worse.
This is how the POS’s in gov’t push their various evils. Using one person’s money against their neighbor.
These is NO case for “Green” energy whatsoever. It is expensive. It is unwanted. It is unnecessary. It is unreliable. It is difficult to incorporate into the electrical grid. It solves no real problem while making everything worse.
CAGW is a fact, deal with it.

Not in the least, even if it was “a fact”, which is is certainly not. Given the irrefutable evidence from the geological records that we now know about, the IPCC scam has been exposed and the TRILLION dollar ‘climate change’ industry is in jeopardy. The only real debate over the amount of global warming (which is what the hysterical CAGW activists used to call it, before the planet stubbornly refused to follow their predictions and get any warmer for * a decade* or so) caused by humans is whether it is a small amount or a tiny amount.
And of course, even if the CAGW scam *was* true, the idea that Canada could do anything about it other than expensive (but utterly useless) virtue-signalling is laughable anyway, since we generate less than 2% of global GHG emissions.
Spending over 500 million for a project that over it’s useful life will produce 300 million of revenue is never good. This doesn’t include capital cost, maintenance, or decommissioning. Far better deal for taxpayers if Weyburn is given some money in lieu of the project.

It has been two generations since “An Inconvenient Truth” was mandatory viewing in all schools. Two generations of negative climate change indoctrination in our schools with little to no push back. It is now ingrained in people. Do parents know what is in theit children’s curriculum? Are they even concerned about it given their own ‘education’? America will be buying local? That ship has sailed. In about 1975 I bought a nice 26 inch TV for 1200 Canadian yen. Nowadays a 70 inch TV without the oak is something like 600 Canadian yen. If everything is made in America nobody could afford anything. Those $100 shoes made in Vietnam would suddenly be $300 made in America. The US tariffs are not big enough to encourage anything to be made in the US. All they will do is bring high costs and poverty.

$25 billion? if the government is involved it’ll be many times that, after all they took a $6 billion pipeline and made it cost over $30 billion and counting.
