It should be done because it is the job of journalists to provide, without fear or favour, information essential to citizen conversation and democratic decision-making. It is their job at all times, but is especially critical during an election campaign. Plagiarism, with or without subsequent punishment, belongs to the highest order of that essential information.
The job of journalists? Are you kidding? Every journalist in Canada in the mainstream media is bought and paid for by the Liberal Party of Canada government. The Media aren’t going to do anything that would jeopardize the food on their table, their mortgage payments or their rents or their clothing or their car payments or their kids education,or their General livelihoods. This is how it works in Canada in our farcical, so-called democracy, where the government pays out nearly two billions of dollars a year to subsidize the media.
I hear there’s an ex-Global reporter and ex-CTV “fact checker” who’s looking for work right now. Maybe she can look into this…..

Peter Stockland does not appear to have the most basic curiosity to understand that the reason the story might not be gaining any traction within the MSM could be related to the $$$$ millions in support the Liberal government provides to the MSM. He’s from a different generation of journalistic integrity that, sadly, no longer exists within his traditional cohort range of vision.
