Government housing =communism.
Their new plan is to recycle the returning soldier program from 1945, and the failed rental program of the 1970s, while ignoring that they are responsible for the massive increases in house prices, first from the cheap money of the Carney, then massive monetary expansion, followed by almost unlimited immigration.
And Canadians will buy it.
When you finance the media, you can lie with impunity.
3.89 million divided by 2023 housing starts of 257,000 results in the Liberals achieving their goal of 3.89 million houses built by 2040, not 2030. They are just straight up lying to you and calling it rain.
Perhaps they are waiting for the trees they haven’t planted to grow?
All to be built when the billion trees are ready for harvest.
and right now after 10 years. nada one tree
35B/500k = $70,000/unit … and that doesn’t account for any of the government employee overhead cost and the brand new bureaucracy created to disburse the largesse.
So how is this taxpayer money and debt being spent? $70k/unit isn’t gonna even pay for the heat pump!
Socialism is WASTE … utter WASTE
$70,000 at $400 per square foot (on the low side imho) equals 175 square foot “homes.”
Not including the land or its improvement cost. Now Poilievre can tie this nonsense into their other “promises.”
I suggest Liberals get out ahead of this and call it their once again failed housing promise – for grannie pods.
With Carney caught for plagiarism, aka PhD and stolen Conservative policies, Brookfield unethical China loans, Bermuda tax dodges, his obstinate refusal to remove bounty hunter MP Chiang, and soon to be imposed Trump tariffs, despite his and Carney’s friendly discussion, spells a bad week for Carbon Copy Carney and his band of failed, fascist Liberals, so plenty of exposure for upcoming debates, and even NDP regaining lost votes?
OK, given Jagmeet Singh is the dumbest politician with the poorest possible judgement, the last one is a stretch.
Many projects are in the $800 to $1200 per sq foot range for a condo.
Awesome Sham! Tiny “homes” for the lot of ya! Along with the COVID medical experiments for the lot of ya … 🙁

I am sure he can get his CCP pals to help build large chinese style apartment blocks to house the one million happy workers for all the new car plants.
A billion trees planted? Four million homes built? The deficit will balance itself? I’m ready to believe. But who do I vote for? Justin help me.
