  1. Nahhhhh … no negative influence on our culture, society, or human relationships. Nahhhh …

  2. Looks like my family. My daughter used to text me from the other side of the living room to ask what was for supper. It’s still better than everyone staring at the TV laughing at lame sitcom’s.

  3. Wow. Just wow.

And here I am, stuck out in the woods with my flip phone. People say I miss a lot, and I agree – and don’t mind a bit.

  4. My very tech-handicapped/almost 95 yo father wants to get one, primarily so he can save maybe an extra $10 a month in coupons from his favorite supermarket. I’ve tried to tell him this doesn’t make sense from a financial perspective, but 94 year-olds tend to be stubborn, and it’s shaping up as a losing battle for me so far. He still hasn’t mastered how to operate a PC after 20 years – can you imagine him with a cell phone?

  5. 40 years go the picture would have been exactly the same, except one person would be reading a newspaper or a book and the other would have been watching TV.

  6. Government false-propaganda (partisan politics)
must always remain a concern of honest citizens.

So-called Smart Phones are merely the next generational attempt
at large scale political manipulation of populations,
    and has been wildly successful.

When the Left realized the American private sector tax-payer
would never support large scale public funding of “Education by Television”,
they coined The Boob Tube moniker, which stuck because the truth is
the Left angrily pivoted to creating dumbing-down programming
and shoved that down the throats of The People.

That was successful only in the dumbing-down,
but not in converting The People to socialism.

UK and Canadian private sector tax-payers, and thus society’s, weren’t as fortunate
because they already had too many growing-government-dependents
voting for “free” Education by Television
and so the Red BBC/CBC flourished.

    However, the optimistic song remains the same;
some brilliant individuals will get through to the adult masses
with real opportunities for self-educating, as opposed to self-medicating.

All children understand this intuitively, as do many in The Arts
(as opposed to todays monopoly of Left Wing political artists).

Learning is as enjoyable as entertainment, and there’s a time for both.
The Left simply cannot allow it to become prevalent.
