An 8hr slow boat ride from Vancouver up the Jervis inlet. Yeah, snow capped mountains emerging from the saltwater ocean. It was like Lake Tahoe … except there were starfish in the “lake”. But the same Bears could be heard bellowing from the woods.
Summertime waterskiing on the salt water with high school girls in bikinis … boating to chatterbox falls. Watching the tidal rapids as water squeezed in and out of the inlet … swimming in the pool carved out of the rock outcropping (again, with HS girls in bikinis) … and learning about Christ.
Young adorable girls. Christ’s Love. God’s incomparable creation in remote BC … Canada at her very best! What a time to be alive! I pray that your country hasn’t lost that.

I think those events may have planted a seed of hatred in my heart for this country, but I never, ever thought it would get to be this bad.
It certainly planted a seed of disdain for the province of Quebec. So much so, that 15 years later, I found myself leaving the province just to survive.
And 28 years after that, leaving Ontario for the same reason…
Leaving SK was just to preserve my sanity.
