We’ve long known that many Leftists are mentally ill.  Why else would they vote for policies that destroy their own society?

Here’s the latest illustration of what Trump Derangement Syndrome has driven some Canadians to do. Is this not the equivalent of a child being given a time out in their room and throwing a tantrum?

We also have B.C. Premier David Eby personally attacking one of Elon Musk’s businesses through legislation. The official explanation for this doesn’t ring true. It’s probably illegal for a government to single out and cause harm to specific individuals. Oh wait, the Trudeau government gleefully did it in 2022 by freezing the bank accounts of people who disagreed with them. But that was proved to be illegal, correct?!

While I understand, but don’t agree with, Canadian anger towards President Trump, why on earth is any Canadian angry with Elon Musk about work he is doing for a government of another country; work that doesn’t effect Canadians in any way? Is it simply anger & stupidity by proxy?

    1. They’re afraid of Musk because he runs probably the largest free-ish speech platforms in the world. I say freeish because Elon is known to cave to governments to keep the platform going. Eby and his ilk don’t have effective control over it right now. In Canada the biggest threat to the established order is freer speech. No doubt They’re setting the stage to ban it from Canada.

    2. The stupidity started as far back when I was in high school (1968 to 1970) in Edmonton. The teachers’ union was very NDP and I think promoted stupidity. I was so happy to discover the International Baccalaureate program (started in 1980) for smart students and made sure to register my daughter in the Grade 10 start year. I told her that if she found the work “too difficult”, she could always go back to Senior Matriculation. She did the Math and Sciences certificate and loved the program.
      I think the Canadian school system has actually accelerated the “dumbing down” of society. I could be wrong…

      1. Not wrong. As a private school teacher, and home schooling parent for almost 50 years, the functional level of government school interns in regards to knowledge, reason, and problem solving, is not that far beyond that of a 14th century serf.

        1. In Sask what most teachers care about is following in lockstep with what/how the STF tells them to think or believe and then complaining that they work too hard and get paid too little.

          They get over 3 months off a year, and their work day is 8:30/9am – 3/3:30pm. Don’t care about “marking” or extra cur activities, lots of us in private sector and other professions do a lot of off hours work and volunteering.

(67 days) Christmas vacation 14 days+, spring break week, every statutory day, off, 20 sick days allowed off each year, 2 personal days (no reasons needed), toss in 5 days paid leave, each for any funerals, then the pension, dental, chiro, massage, whatever coverage, and you’ve got a government union flunkie who feels entitled to their entitlements.

            …………a person working less than a 170 days out of a potential 365, versus the small business owner working almost 365 out of 365, without sick leave, pension, benefits, or protection, then being called greedy for wanting/needing to keep what they earn.

    Thousand of jobs, hundreds of businesses potentially affected, by the removal of Alaska Bound cruise ships. All just to spite a minimum amount of Alaska bound transport trucks, 1% of all freight. Freight gets to Alaska almost exclusively by Air or Sea.
    And, there are existing treaties that exclude the land route from any tolls.

    2. Here in New Brunswick , Premier Susan Holt is playing the same stupid game. Port of St. John released it’s cruise ship schedule and 77 ships are due to have stop-overs here. Now not all are American owned, but if any significant percentage cancels, the damage would be just as devastating.
