Fox- Elon Musk’s SpaceX launches crew to rescue stuck NASA astronauts from ISS

SpaceX launched its Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket just after 7 p.m. from the U.S. space agency’s Kennedy Space Center, in collaboration with NASA.

  4. Communists in our country – hardest hit. They were CHEERING and JEERING at an experimental rocket of Musk’s busting into flames and pieces just a few days ago. They were so hoping for disaster … you know … like NASA’s epic disasters that have killed dozens.

    Note: the Biden Admin. sued Space-X … and the lawsuit is ongoing … because Space-X doesn’t hire enough “foreigners” … ovvvvvvv culllller. How DARE Space-X hire on the basis of Merit and Competency!?

    1. There is a law which requires those employees to be be American citizens, and there’s a law which mandates hiring foreigners.
      So, the auto signature in chief went with the most politically advantageous law, to whittle down his enemies list.

      Someone should ask the auto signature in chief what the motive was for this.

    2. Which NASA disaster “killed dozens”? I only know of two launch-pad incidents that killed more that 24 people (first 120, second 48), both in the Soviet Union, where they just couldn’t get that tweaking a fuelled rocket is kind of dangerous.

From that same article: As of January 2025, there have been 19 astronaut fatalities during spaceflight that either crossed, or was intended to cross, the boundary of space as defined by the United States (50 miles above sea level). Astronauts have also died while training for space missions, such as the Apollo 1 launch pad fire that killed an entire crew of three.

          So where are the “dozens” he’s talking about?

          1. The number of fatalities on board American crafts which I counted at the link, appears to be 24, which is 2 dozen. I did include the couple from India and Israel as they were lost in the NASA era. I wasn’t aware of the Chinese rocket landing in the village, but do expect them to say “6 villagers died” when it may have been 100. Their past history of earthquake reportage being suspect.

            People’s memories change over time, I wouldn’t get so caught up in dicing someone over saying “dozens” if it could be swiped out with “too many”
            I’d count those lost while on earth tooling up the process of getting into outer space, as they wouldn’t be there if the goal wasn’t outer space, though wouldn’t count car traffic fatalities to and from work… how deep to go here?
            Perhaps the Democrats will refer to the folks stuck in space as “delayed re-entrants” which would apply if they were delayed a few days, but it’s well beyond that now and I’m happy the World Elon Centre for Engineering Excellence is able to step up where the Democrats have failed.

          2. I don’t think it makes sense to include those who died in the training airplanes as “epic NASA disasters”. My understand of a NASA disaster is something that involves a spacecraft built / operated by NASA.

          And yes, space flight has always been and remains a risky enterprise. So was sailing rickety wooden ships toward the edge of the earth looking for new trade routes and finding North America … just think of all the lives lost as a result of THAT enterprise. Boo hoo. No risk, no reward. But I never cheer for death like the leftist termites in our countries.

            In the Wikipedia article, I can see 14 US “Spaceflight fatalities below the Kármán line”, plus 3 “Fire during spacecraft test”, that makes it 17.

    1. This isn’t news. He’s not the first (or last) from Russia to fly on Crew Dragon (the rideshare agreement was planned from the beginning).

Apparently, because Russia is using the 1960s Soyuz to get to the ISS, which has a good safety record, so they wanted to have an alternative for NASA astronauts to get there in case Dragons were grounded. Rideshare was the best way to achieve it because it didn’t require paying for the Soyuz flights.
