Normally, isn’t there a ceremony for this or was this done behind closed doors like everything today? Second, the EU is a total waste of time and he should be spending all his time before April 2nd negotiating with the US. He is supposed to be a smart money guy after all.

  14. Carney is linked bigtime to McCains (potatos) which is wholeheartedly Liberal. I’m not sure about Cavendish (potatos, brother owned). Some people want to rally against American products; how many conservatives will do the same for Liberal supporting Company’s products?

All old money in Canada is Liberal, if your aren’t you don’t get to be old money, as the state and Liberal cronies with government support will relieve you of it, or shake you down for pennies on the dollar. Why are all our greatest entrepreneurs growing their businesses in the US? Because they want to keep them.

    1. Simply put, we don’t vote for the PM in general elections. We vote for party candidates running in our ridings, the party with the most won ridings (or the one who can create a coalition) becomes the ruling party. The leader of that party is then sworn in as the PM. Should the ruling party change leaders, the new leader is then sworn in as the PM.

      After saying that, our politics has become more of a cult-of-personality contest than a political content contest, creating a situation where the leader is the party and not the riding candidates.

      The possible question here is why doesn’t a change in party leader create a mandatory general election? A change in leadership usually creates a change in political direction that the populace has not voted for. (in this case, not so much.)

As we are very likely entering a long term bear market in a recession on the way to a depression in the middle of a trade war with the US and not even bothering to get a mandate from the nation he pretends to speak for, he’s burning jet fuel to hang out with the elite Jacobins and Bolsheviks of Europe.   26. Maybe he’s going to renounce his citizenship in Ireland and the UK, and he’s just following Trudeau’s footsteps when he runs away from Canada during a “crisis” after all Trudeau spent a bunch of time in Europe this year.

    He has No mandate to be flying to Europe,,, nor does he have a mandate to negotiate with POTUS, or the ChiComs, for that matter.
    The only thing he should be doing, is calling a general election, and let the Canadian Citizens decide where we go from here!
