  1. Fidelito is an awesome negotiator, especially when working on behalf of AB and SK, his favorite folks.

    1. Kill agriculture, drive down land prices, make everyone a welfare whore, and guess who comes in to buy all the land. The Carney Clown Show.

  2. Fear not..

Turdhole has tears for all of us.. And that’s fine.. But must we fight with the USA and China at the same time??..
What are we paying these politicians for?..

    1. “We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us.”

“If we had some ham, we could have ham and eggs, if we had some eggs.”

“That wasn’t true Socialism. This time, we’ll do it right and have true Socialism”

UBI is the last stop on the railroad, Canada.

  3. All things being equal, there should be a market for Canadian canola where the oil that displaces the Canadian oil was previously consumed. Given that the supply doesn’t change and the demand doesn’t change the only problem is finding these markets.

    1. Access to congested ports, port workers using hostage tactics, appeasing aborigionals, interprovincial trade barriers, etc. The list of logistical problems is quite long in a Country where everybody wants a slice of your pie.

    2. The chinamen waited to see what the Brazilian soybean crop would yield. A bin buster. Drive down canola prices. Ship canola to Vietnam where is gets rerouted to China at a discount.

  4. De-industrialization. De-agriculturalization.
Just think of all the Diesel farm equipment that will be idle
    A massive Net Zero victory!

  5. Trump screwed American ag outa the soya bean market last time around. Slapped tariffs on the Chinese and they simply moved to Brazil. The US are no longer the worlds #1 soya bean producer’s.

    1. You know we educate young farmers from Brazil and other countries at our top agricultural universities.
We sort of screw ourselves anyways.

    2. abKKKraper
That was rather short, me thinks you can do a much better whine than that!

    3. You have that exactly wrong. Reality is that china was developing brazillian bean production all along. The US is always supplier of last resort. China only buys US cargos if they can’t due to logistics get them from South America in time. So it is impossible for a US tariff to screw up American exports because other countries will try to buy elsewhere if possible all the time. That does not change with tariffs. It is irresponsible for the US not to tariff imports.

  6. “Stand Up for Ukraine”
    “Stand Up to Trump”
    “Stand Up to Russia”
    “Stand Up to China”

We pretend we’re some kind of global power, meanwhile, we can’t build our own jets or submarines, and can’t even get it together enough buy them. A truly pathetic country populated by a truly pathetic people.

    1. Virtue Signalling has been nothing but a race to the bottom.
      “We’re for the Latest Thing!”
Canada is a pissant on the global stage. Turdeau has ensured that.

      1. Canada is a wingman. But Britain is a mess, and they are content to alienate the US. They seem to be cozying up to China, so an abusive relationship is what they’ll get.

    2. It’s interesting. At the end of WW2 Canada had the third largest Navy in the world after the US and Britain. WTF happened?

      1. The war ended, and they didn’t need a huge navy any more. Frankly, I think they should have kept it and called it “Floating Combat National Historic Park”. Worth the maintenance cost in nostalgia value.

    3. “5000 years ago, Moses said to Israel, “Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land.”

Trudeau said, “Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land.”

Today, the government has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land.”

  7. Canola Oil?
Should only be used as machine lubricant or as biodiesel.
Eat that shite? There’s more and more evidence that “veggie” oils play a substantial role in the obesity, diabetic epidemic in North America.
We should only be eating tallow, ghee, or lard or deep frying and cooking purposes. Veggie Oils are slow motion death.

      1. ‘Cause it rapes your mustard plants. Instead of nice spicy mustard seed you get canola.

It will pollinate most things from that family and ruin the next generation. Broccoli, kale, some cabbage.

        1. Broccoli, kale, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kohlrabi, are not closely related. They are the same species, Brassica oleracea, that can freely cross with watch other. The distinct varieties are the product of selective breeding by humans. Not sure about interbreed-ability of cabbage’s cousins rapeseed, mustard or their close relative turnips. Rape is from rapum, Latin for turnip.

        2. I’ll go two feet out on an oak branch as thick as Crystia Freeland’ s calf-like area and say nobody really “likes” kale.

    1. Probably not a great lubricant. Does it generate significant BTUs when burned? Greens are always looking for the next great inefficient fuel.

    2. Dan, you are spot on. It will be interesting to see if RFK Jr. Can move the US away from seed oils. Hopefully corn syrup also.

    3. Not doubting you but when one has a billion chinese to feed can they afford to be picky? Besides they are exporting a gazillion gallons of used cooking oil to the USA to rape the USA taxpayer as it is ‘ethical oil’

    4. Seed oils specifically. Canola is a highly processed food.
I rarely use. I stick to olive oil and avocado. Have some peanut oil and sesame.
I get avocado at Costco. The stuff they sell is rated to highest by CR.

  8. Meh.
    $1+100% = $2
    They’ll eat anything that moves.
They need cheap cooking oil for woks..
Rapeseed*, like corn, is both plentiful and ‘sustainable’.
    Let the games begin !

*Soon to be re-re-named Carnoly Oil.

  9. The Conservatives could use this against the LPC if they had advisers that were past puberty. “Trudeau did to China what Trump is trying to do to Canada and look where it got us!”

  10. I can’t wait for “Team Canada” to get up and boo China /sarc

Canadians know the US is better, the US knows, and the US knows we know, which is why they have been kind(ish) in the past. That is coming to an end. A childish people, run by a childish government, and daddy is about to kick us out of the nest. Doubt we will fly.

    1. When a carbon intensive fuel source is called “carbon neutral” you know it’s all about destroying a particular industry.

  11. “Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in August that Ottawa was imposing the levies to counter what he called China’s intentional state-directed policy of over-capacity…” But wait…I thought he admired their basic dictatorship. I guess Winnie the Pooh isn’t too happy with Little Potato.

  12. Let’s see if Canadians have the stomach for a trade war with China. I’m a teensy bit skeptical.

    1. Crickets from the msm. All Trump all the time. Most Canadians don’t have a clue about tarrifs between China and Canada.

      1. Most Canadians don’t have a clue about the tariffs we have imposed on American goods for decades, either.

  13. The USA:
Imposes tariffs to protect and bolster domestic production.

    Canada:
Imposes tariffs to fill state coffers.

  14. Last Friday in Trump’s speech he told American farmers this time the tariffs were going to be,”fun”.

I listen to US rural radio. Farmers aren’t looking for ‘fun’ they are looking for stability and profit. They aren’t happy with Trump. They know what’s coming.

    1. As if they didn’t get paid off the last time. As if there were no ethanol subsidies and no ethanol mandate.

If they’re looking for stability they ought not be farming.

  15. Maybe farmers will grow food instead of toxic garbage this year?

Farmers feed cities… ultra processed food.

Starving out the soy boys isn’t a bad thing.
