  1. I lived through, up close and personal (many friends lived there) the Oakland Hills Firestorm. The devastation was complete. But believe it or not … that was 1991 … and the city of Oakland was only semi-woke, and hadn’t gone full communist. It’s truly shocking just how FAR the city has fallen in 34 years. The city public works and planning departments actually had their shit together and they made rebuilding as smooth as possible. The rebuilding was (mostly) quick and orderly.

  2. I cant understand why they didn’t have a fire boat just off shore, or otherwise pump water from the ocean, heck, even a personal trash pump..

Those beachfront homes are akin to dying of starvation beside a refrigerator full of food.

  3. Meanwhile our communist mayor is proud of the fact that they got all 12 city agency needed to process the application to rebuild under one location, cutting out 6 month out of 5 years of just doing the paperwork. The very thought of waiving regulation never passed her little head.

    1. Yes paperwork will be faster funelling everybody to the same location to fill out the same paperwork. Because I assume that the amount of paperwork will be exactly the same. Am I right? I’m just guessing here.

  4. Seats at the Board of Variance there will be golden.
    Inspectorships won’t be far behind.
Waterfront is not a straight line.
