Free Speech in America, Once Again

This is one of the most important executive orders since Trump took power on January 20, 2025:

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution, an amendment essential to the success of our Republic, enshrines the right of the American people to speak freely in the public square without Government interference. Over the last 4 years, the previous administration trampled free speech rights by censoring Americans’ speech on online platforms, often by exerting substantial coercive pressure on third parties, such as social media companies, to moderate, deplatform, or otherwise suppress speech that the Federal Government did not approve. Under the guise of combatting “misinformation,” “disinformation,” and “malinformation,” the Federal Government infringed on the constitutionally protected speech rights of American citizens across the United States in a manner that advanced the Government’s preferred narrative about significant matters of public debate. Government censorship of speech is intolerable in a free society.

So, the next time anyone uses the 3 highlighted words, be they in America or elsewhere, know that they are purely trying to silence your free speech because you dared to challenge their narrative.

  1. By God, I’m loving Trump more than I ever thought possible. Meanwhile, in the mediocre Dominion, we’re still under the liberal dictatorship.

    1. He’s learned. Very focused and unlike his first term…appears to have a decent team around him.

Case in point: not one leak of his EOs.

    2. I loved the comment I read on ‘X’ that suggested the are regretting that they CHEATED the 2020 election and stole a Presidential election. Regretting they didn’t allow 4-more years of a neutered Trump, kneecapped by a feckless, weak, VP and RINOs undermining his every move.

They created Claudius Maximas Trumpica … a bloody MONSTER of MAGA! Woohoo! Is this GREAT!? or WHAT!?

      1. Yeah, I probably was paraphrasing the same Tweet. It specifically mentioned Pence and the neocons.

They also regret not putting things into law so that, as St. Obama the First of His Name put it, Trump with a ‘pen and phone’, i.e, Executive Orders on Steroids.

Last Monday I was at a gathering and of course everyone was checking their phones every 30 seconds. I was pretty much the only normie there, and just said “pace yourself, its not even Tuesday…”

    3. Tump would have to be made of stone if he did not harbour very deep feelings about what was done to him. He has had four years to contemplate, to learn how the Deep State functions, and he never backs down. As Robert Burns wrote in Tam o Shanter. “Whare sits our sulky sullen dame, gathering her brows like gathering storm, nursing her wrath to keep it warm”. The best is yet to come.

  2. 2 (d) identify and take appropriate action to correct past misconduct by the Federal Government related to censorship of protected speech.
3 (b) The Attorney General, in consultation with the heads of executive departments and agencies, shall investigate the activities of the Federal Government over the last 4 years that are inconsistent with the purposes and policies of this order and prepare a report to be submitted to the President, through the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, with recommendations for appropriate remedial actions to be taken based on the findings of the report.

Hopefully this action includes imposing some penalties. Speaking of misinformation and infringement of free speech, I recommend 1600 Jan 6ers be hired to set some guidelines.

    1. Any and every Federal employee who took those actions, which actively denied their fellow citizens their constitutional … “civil” … rights … need to be immediately FIRED. No severance, no questions, no explanation.

      1. the liberal government in Canada has completely destroyed free speech and 24% of Canadians are OK with that

  3. Disagreement is not disinformation.

Neither is it hatred and it certainly isn’t phobia.

So, yes, dis- and misinformation are labels for ‘censorship’.

    1. But, but, but … what about the “fact-checkers”? Don’t we need to be schooled in the … facts?

      1. Pretty sure that with ‘expert’ and ‘influencer’, ‘fact-checker’ is on the way to ‘buggy-whip’.

  4. I wish we had free speech in canada. The 51st State thing is looking better and better…

Americans can disagree with Trump all day long, they can protest in the capitol while wearing pussy hats, they could probably set up a bouncy castle without being jailed and having their bank accounts frozen…

  5. There are many other synonyms they have invented, to hide their violations of the 1st.

    They are devious an dishonest.

  6. As good as the first week has been for the new Trump Admin, keep in mind that +90% of the cabinet hasn’t taken their oath yet. I’m expecting RFK Jr, Kash, Tulsi, and Hegseth to make real impacts shortly after finding their way around the room.
I expect, sonic booms, per say… the others will all want to make, “deep impact” 😉

The labelling of what isn’t approved gov’t speak as “misinformation”, “disinformation”, and “malinformation” is offensive to anyone who’s read of what occurred in the old USSR and other East Bloc countries which brought disinformation to an art form.
Disinformation is particularly offensive to anyone who grew up having read Solzhenitsyn.

  7. I noticed Trump’s new press secretary during her first press conference today referred to past “misinformation” in the mainstream media, she’s awesome and excellent and maybe “misinformation” is still a legitimate term that has its uses.

  8. Something very remarkable and unprecedented is going on. Currently, the Democrat party doesn’t have a leader. The role would have fallen to Gavin Newsom, but he’s damaged goods and in no position to stick his head up. No one else is stepping up to the plate because they’ve found that Trump 2.0 is much better prepared, and as corruption is exposed and publicized, anyone who grabs the leadership role of the DNC is by association going to have that corruption attached to them (thus scrambling any future ambitions). Then you have the DNC faithful. The leftists, who really are NPC’s (Non-player Characters). They need someone to tell them what to do, say and think. No one has grabbed onto that role, so they are disturbingly quiet, even docile.

Finally, there is Kamala Harris. If you ever wanted to have an excellent example of just how stupid and inept she is (as well as the people who surround her)…this is it. Here is a golden opportunity to display leadership and tactful strategy to waylay all the naysayers. She could step into the role of leader and challenge Trump on every single act, and it would be acceptable as she ran against him in the election. Yet, she’s as quiet as a church mouse. She really does need things handed to her, and has no ability to earn her place.

And what is Trump doing with this lull in DNC activity? Hell, he shouldn’t have used a garbage truck as a prop. It should have been a bulldozer. As it is written in “Art of the Deal”. If you have leverage, use it and whatever you do, don’t waste it. I have no doubt that even Trump is surprised at how fast he’s going. They gave him the opportunity to throw down without any meaningful opposition, and he’s certainly taken advantage of the situation.

Look for Gretchen Whitmer to step up in the next week or so.

    1. Well said, Orson. And if I can add … Kamalalala has shown leadership … just before she vanished for a month-long disappearance/vacation … she told the Dem’s to: ”Hold onto Hope” I guess Obama’s puppet has dropped “Change” from the Marxist slogan … as they’ve changed nothing in Obama’s 3-terms.

Meanwhile … MY President, who never takes a vacation, is literally KILLING IT! He’s killing Marxism in every dark corner and cranny of the Federal Government.

  9. I’m cautiously optimistic about this. He’s backed off the s.230 nonsense and is focusing entirely on the government collusion, which is where the sledgehammer needs to be aimed.
