And this may be the roadmap.
The deadline…
Canada has been given until Feb 1st to make a satisfactory deal to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal migrants across the US border to avoid a 25% tariff on Canadian goods moving into the US.
My prediction is the Liberals will make damn sure that Canada doesn’t get a deal.
The Liberals will sacrifice the economy and Canadian workers to make sure they can run a political campaign against Donald Trump and, of course, Alberta. The Liberals will divide Canadians just like they did during Covid with their vaccinated vs. unvaccinated election campaign. This time it will be the corrupt Liberals presented as “Team Canada” and everyone who is against them as “traitors”.
Any premier that aligns with the Trudeau Liberals should be treated as just as guilty as the Liberals themselves.
This is what we get for having a government that wants to destroy Canada and rule over the ashes.
Be warned.

Destroying the automobile in order to save the hood ornament.
President Trump was ready to bring tariffs to all Canadian products, this was entirely preventable by doing what Trump had requested, and now slightly delayed only by Alberta Premier Smith’s reach out to him while all the other Premiers, the PM, and those who would like to be PM stood on the sidelines saying “this is how I’d retaliate to the USA” … as if tier 2 Canada has anything in their arsenal to actually stop this.
For all the bitching at Premier Smith as to how she’s not the one for the job (from the eastern media) there isn’t anyone else who’s actually stood up for Canada.
I expect Canada’s gov’t will entirely waste this 10 day window of opportunity, we’re really not set up for taking executive actions as the US can and does… there’s no end to Canada’s foot dragging when decisions need be made, and I’d expect the worst.
When’s the election? I’m actually not caring so much now… and I’ll just stick with, “when’s the Alberta/Sask. separation referendum”?
We’ve been warned, as in all things Canadian, I expect failure.
The Liberals can make sweeping, decisive, executive actions when they choose to. Like when they chose to freeze a bunch of peoples bank accounts.
“ as if tier 2 Canada has anything in their arsenal to actually stop this.”
Surely you jest.
Doncha know? Running into a gun fight holding a pair of safety scissors is what the Laurentian Elite refer to as punching above our weight (like it’s a wise thing to do).
Uh oh! Canada is about to go all stabby with the USA!? Well … you do appear to have radically increased the percentage of radical Islamic “newcomers”. So, you’ll be well prepared.
Don’t forget the msm! Without them, the liberals cant survive. Between canada and or justin the msm would choose justin. As you can see happening right now. The reporters get paid by you to work for justin not for you.
Already had this figured out, since the Lieberals have already had their propagandists working furiously for the last week plus. OF COURSE, they will work at their MO, divide and conquer.
Just saw this in the TC letter section, a rare but accurate sighting of common sense cutting thru the BS:
“It boggles my mind that the same people who spent the last few decades tearing down all notions of Canadian identity, decrying nationalism, lamenting patriotism, sneering at our history and traditions, agitating grievances, loudly denouncing their fellow man for their choices, smugly dismissing the notion of individual freedoms and insisting we are a “post national” state, akin to a country-sized Costco to where any millions of foreigners can simply buy a membership are now hyperventilating at the notion another country might take umbrage to our poor decisions.
These people now insist we wrap ourselves in the flag, sing O Canada!, God Save the King and Maple Leaf Forever rah rah and dig deep inside ourselves and find that red- blooded frontiersman spirit and patriotism to repel the brutish Yankee invaders.
Sorry, but we’ve looked, and you’ve been found wanting. Ironically, you don’t deserve America.
John Smith
Esquimalt”
This is trash. Canada already goes after fentanyl and cooperates with the US on illegal crossers. Both are a drop in the bunker compared to Mexico. 16,000 lbs of fentanyl in 2024 vs 40 from Canada.
…and only a handful of apartment buildings were taken over by gangs in Colorado.
How much is too much, AllanS? Where do you draw that line?
I’ll take Trump’s word that there’s too many drugs flowing across the northern border, no matter the amount. Any illegal drug trafficking is too much.
As for wanting a new country, I say “ditto.” Paul Mitchell nailed it. That’s exactly how this is going to go down. How can you have a “Team Canada” in a “post-national state” … “without a core identity?”
I’m truly surprised at Scott Moe for going along with this. Doug Ford? Not so much. That’s his MO.
Mexican cartels operate in Canada.
They move a lot of product to the US, not to mention all the Canadians they kill. They move it in smaller quantities per but higher numbers of parcels.
I think they use the Mohawk nation as it straddles the borders with the reserve being on eastern Ontario, western Quebec and the United States. I personally believe they also engage in human smuggling. They started with smuggling cigarettes and booze back in the 1980’s.
They are well-established in Vancouver where the Chicoms bring it in or the chemicals to make it.
First off, do you have ANY IDEA how many people 40lbs of fentanyl can kill?
Second, that’s NOT the flex you think it is! ONLY intercepting 40lbs is PATHETIC!
There are scores of labs within an hour of Kamloops alone (Kamloops has been a known transshipment point for drugs for at least a couple of decades now…do you really think it’s the only such location in Canada?). They managed to shut down a lab in Falkland (Falkland FFS!) a couple of months ago followed immediately by a second, both with Cartel connections, and I promise you, they didn’t even make a scratch.
“Second, that’s NOT the flex you think it is! ONLY intercepting 40lbs is PATHETIC!”
Plus, almost everyone (except Art) seems to be ignoring the fact that 40 lbs is only the amount that was INTERCEPTED, not the amount that was actually shipped…who knows how high *that* number might be? And yes, the US/Canadian border is also quite different than the US/Mexico border.
Who cares? This is what happens to “post national states”. Welcome to the post national part. Canada is a tier 2 shithole, tolerating everything, so by definition, standing for nothing. It was ok for my first 40 odd years, the last 10 have been abysmal. I have two daughters of family formation age, one already in the US, and the other headed that way upon graduation as an RN. They recognize they have no chance at capital formation in Canada, make a decent wage and then save and invest and have that taxed to oblivion. Their generation doesn’t give a crap for Canada, their educators having taught them they are white colonial oppressors, and their country having squandered their economic hopes, why would they?
Canada deserves it’s fate, I feel bad for the minority who is trapped, I have two passports so am not, but the rest who either sleepwalked into this mess, or are mediocre by nature, well it’s really gonna suck to be you.
Trenchant observations Peter. In my more fevered moments I think that Canada – at its worst (SDA readers and their ilk exempted, as always)* – is not only a wicked, deeply immoral country (e.g., MAID) that DESERVES to be punished, but for reason unfathomable to me, turns around and self-righteously flaunts the country’s manifold sins and wickedness as National Virtues (e.g., “empathy”, “compassion”, “reproductive rights”, gender-affirming care” et al). Vomitis.
Furthermore, a plurality of Canadians have thrice elected – and almost 40% would re-elect again – political parties dedicated to the systematic enfeeblement of the country. As I’ve said before, had Canadians voted for governments that put forth a muscular, expansive, pro-free-speech, pro-free-market, pro-small business, pro-Western, pro-American version of this country, Trump would not be trolling us, nor would the issue of punitive tariffs even come up. Losers!
Instead, we have people who should know better – names too numerous to cite here – wringing their ridiculous little Canadian hands, stomping their ridiculous little Canadian feet, shaking their ridiculous little Canadian heads, sporting their ridiculous little Canadian hats (“Canada is Not For Sale”) and shrieking in their ridiculous little Canadian voices and accents that “Canadians should have a leader Trump is afraid of” Yeah, riiiiight…
We have done this ENTIRELY to ourselves
*I will make an exception for UnMe, assuming he/it/whatever is not merely some AI bot
Peter
Right now the USA needs nurses like crazy, Plus the pay is darn good.
In terms of per capita “immigrants” coming into the country, Canada is considerably higher. As for fentanyl, Canada’s border is much longer and we have no idea really how much is coming in, has come in or will come in. Canada needs to control it’s OWN influx of illegals given that numbers are higher than the U.S. and Canadians like you are blissfully unaware of it.
Then it should take a bare minimum of effort to avoid these repercussions if it’s so insignificant.
Right?
and you know this how, or are just another useless liberal
And where, oh where, does the fentanyl come from, that ensnares the lives of the zombies on Hastings St, DTES Vancouver, Pandora St Victoria, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Abbotsford, Penticton, amd that’s just a small part of BC and the country?
Why haven’t our governments cleaned that up years ago? Chased down the source of the zombie drugs?
Because the Poverty Pimp industry supports their socialist gubmint masters. Quid Pro Quo. The money flows both ways, so why fix the problem?
There’s a new sheriff in town and he’s taking no prisoners. Time for Canaderp to Grow Up.

According to this CBSA whisleblower, there is LOTS of room for improvement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgYo3hTek1I
This comment is from a friend and neighbor of Canada. My heart aches for the direction turdo and the liebrals have taken your land. And then, someone’s answer to the problem is more idiocy from that moron freyland?
YGBSM! I always try to stay out of family fights, but, I guess I care about you folks. Please, if there comes a viable candidate, vote. If you can, send him some little money. Talk positive about him. I believe when four years have passed, the US will be a lot better off than it is now. Trump and I are not your enemy. Just like us, we have more than enough internal enemies to be concerned with. Be strong for your children and those who will come after.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.
I second that emotion, semi-white.
I’ll ask again … what could possibly be the problem in cooperating with the USA by strengthening the US/Canadian border? Ohhhhh … sorry … I forgot. Canada is a post-National UN-protectorate, one-world, borderless, Unitarian Church of a … “place”. Good luck with that, my beloved Canadian friends.
Yeah, that may … sound … all progressive and whatnot … until the invading Muslim horde push all the ‘Indians’ off their reservations and genocide them
Please, if there comes a viable candidate, vote.
And therein lies the rub. There isn’t one. We need a Canadian Trump. What we have is a plate of wet noodles. Hence, WEXIT.
As others have said, what would anyone wanting to destroy a country do any different than what Turdboy and the Liberals have done.
Align yourself with Trudeau and I know your traitor.
I have a related article on this at paul530.substack.com – comments requested. One quibble: the liberal leadership race between two soros suckups who hate each other will complicate this and so make it more likely that Canada folds easily on this. (As we should since we are clearly in the wrong here.)
I expect the traitors to endorse a pivot to China in response to the US trade war as the next step in the destruction of the country.
Well if drugs and illegal border crossings are so minor it shouldn’t take much to get a plan together to reach Trump’s objective. Trouble is those are symptoms of what the real problem is as perceived in Trump’s trade world. He’s looking to open up the game. The next coupla of years will be painful.
Doug Ford prattling on threatening to remove US liquor from provincial liquor stores amounts to pissing in the ocean. Last time it was Russian vodka over the invasion of Ukraine. You can purchase that vile swill in the LCBO today like you always could.
There has NEVER been a better time for a forced Canadian election. As it now sits, Canada is the Titanic heading toward the iceberg and the “captain” is drunk and passed out in his cabin.
That’s a rather optimistic view. To me, Canada has already struck the iceberg.
or just doing a kneel and bob with his best friend Gerry!
Today it may be taken for granted by many that it is a pretty flag, but others know it’s sordid and partisan political history: in 1963 the Liberal Party of Canada’s Lester Pearson became Prime Minister and announced Canada would have a new flag other than The Red Ensign under which hundreds of thousands of Canadians fought and died. John Diefenbaker as leader of the Conservative Party was against the Maple Leaf since it represented only Eastern Canada and stated, “we’ll have that flag over my dead body” so naturally the Liberal Party ended debate by invoking closure and on December 15th 1964 the Canadian Maple Leaf Flag was shoved down our throats. Ever since it has been wielded as the logo for Liberal Party of Canada who are proud of nothing but themselves and who have never represented the majority of voters in this nation.
Flag debate aside, I note that the maple leaf was proudly worn by our troops in both world wars and the Korean conflict. May units incorporated the leaf in their hat badges. It is also on the logo of the Conservative Party of Canada, not just the Grits.
And the colour was specifically made to cater to said party!
If one actually listened to what was said, Trump has thus far alluded to what he might do as opposed to will do. In such a way to answer the question “what the worst thing that happens if Canada doesn’t address illegals entering the US from the north and fentanyl?”
The clown show lead by PM Leisure Suit Larry is by stressing this will be inevitable is telling Trump that they don’t think there is a problem or they don’t care about the problem (aka the strategy of not letting a crisis go to waste)
They also focus on tariffs and do not consider any other actions he may take if the investigation proves the current Canadian government is deemed a security risk.
Eminently sensible, Joseph. There is indeed an enormous gap between “might do” and “will do”. This is about setting up for negotiations between Washington and Ottawa. Washington knows full well that the current Canadian government is a collection of the Walking Dead and incapable of negotiating anything. They are also fully aware that there is no functioning government in Canada now with the complete shutdown of Parliament. The American language is aimed at the NEXT government of Canada, not the current collection of losers.
So yes, specific words and phrases matter deeply.
Right now, Canada has a small bit of leverage because the refineries in the US are primarily geared towards processing heavy crude. But, Trump is clear about wanting the US energy production to be self-sufficient. So, it would not surprise me to see efforts in switching the refineries over to processing mainly light/sweet crude (US domestic drilling product). Or, more likely, just adding more refineries to accommodate this while still processing heavy crude as an export product. Allowing lowered transportation costs to be the lynchpin in addressing part of the inflation problem. If that happens, Canada’s energy threat becomes less important.
Additionally, most of the other exports from Canada are, also, available through Argentina. And, Milei was front and center in the good seats at the Inauguration. Make of that what you will.
Relative to the illegal immigrants gaining access to the US through Canada, just look at Upstate New York. It’s surging. Hell, there are border areas there where the boundary is right down the double yellow line on the road without supervision. Even CNN covered the mass surge of illegal immigrants using the northern routes. You can see a wealth of videos showing these crossings, and it’s not a sporadic occurrence. The Cartel de Sinaloa (CDS or Sinaloa Cartel) and the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) are both staking out territory in Canada and have been for years. In fact, their first order of business was to gain dominance on the traditional “mafia” in your “underworld.” You may have noticed an increase in violent crime within your urban areas. It wasn’t just kids acting up.
Switching over US refineries to use their lighter crude will wind up making American petrochemicals even more expensive than they already are. American consumers might think they are willing to pay more, but that will change when they get the bill. The process also takes years, not months.
Yawn. You realize what happened to fuel prices in 2020, right?
Danielle Smith seems to already be prepared for PM Trudeau the Second’s attacks on Alberta oil and gas exports. In Canada, one level of government isn’t allowed to tax another level of government. If I understand correctly, Smith has said the Alberta government will legally (on paper) own Alberta’s oil and gas so that Trudeau can not levy an export tax. According to the National Post, this move by Smith is based on what Premier Lougheed did when PM Trudeau the First put an export tax on Alberta oil and gas going to the US.
This move will, of course be called traitouous, unCanadian, blah, blah by Trudeau, his paid media and voters in central and eastern Canada. At this point though, after a decade of constant attacks by the Trudeau Liberal government, I doubt if the vast majority of Albertans care what the rest of Canada thinks. Maybe Alberta will decide they have had enough of this shit and get serious about Independence.
Excellent Comment LC Bennett!
Moe and the Sask Party will do the same!
Start the Bus to LEAVE!
Canada can’t even remove provincial trade barriers. How are they going to deal with Trump?
No drugs will flow into the US if Americans stop consuming. How about addressing demand, not just supply.
Simple.
As simple as alcohol prohibition worked in the US.
Abstinence.
Silliness
People who don’t want to abstain won’t abstain and they’ll always find a way to feed their habit.
Tell that to your local junkie zombies. Hope you don’t get stabbed, heh heh.
Evidence of abstinence is not abstinence of evidence!
Canada needs to get serious about going after criminals. Our justice system is pathetic. Those drugs don’t just go to the US, they also get sold here and contribute to the drug problem in Canada. A serious crackdown on the drug trade in combination with treatment centers and mental health facilities would be a way to minimize homelessness and the open drug use plaguing cities across Canada.
Scum drug dealers are meeting the demand. It’s easy to complain about them. It’s harder to discourage addicts to quit the stuff.
Drug addicts will always be with us but that doesn’t excuse not shutting down drug labs and prosecuting organized crime. Helping addicts through rehab is kinder than what is being seen in places like Vancouver’s DTES. Drug addicts and people with mental health issues make up the vast majority of the homeless. The next biggest is Trudeau Tent Cities from his pro-poverty policies like high immigration causing unaffordable rent and home prices.
Not to worry. They will quit when they stop breathing.
The numbers are going
We might not agree on the value of human life but those addicts/homeless are turning communities into a hell hole. Taxpayers in those communities deserve safe neighborhoods and proper law enforcement. Common sense law enforcement makes for safer neighborhoods and helps the trade relationship with the US. Win, win.
The obvious question is why the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government and their supporters don’t want to crack down on the drug trade? Are they benefiting from the drug trade in some way?
How typically Canadian, we’ll hector them into submission. Clown.
As per expected the usual mis-ill-informed nitwits rise to spout their opinions without the brains of a flea to understand and form an intelligent opinion. Getting your shorts in a knot because the new leader of a real country wants to protect his citizens sends the nitwits into a meltdown. Let’s face it the drug cartels in Canada are operated by more than Mexican spinoffs. If the truth be told there are probably as many Indian, Pakistani and Chinese gangs working the drug trade as there are Mexican but we can’t mention them because then we’d be racists. Then let’s take this admonition from our political leaders that we’ll have to fight to maintain our sovereignty. Fight, with what? Or how about the argument that we’ll apply our own tariffs, yeah that’ll work well, show me anything that we produce North of the 49th that can’t be produced south of it. While we’re on the topic of sovereignty, please tell me how we can claim sovereignty when we have been riding America’s coat-tails on defence capabilities since the Fifties. Also tell me about sovereignty when we are allowing China to interfer with our elections and no-one gives a tinker’s curse about it. But, but, but, you might say the Mounties are looking into it! Ah! Yes, the Mounties are looking into it. The Mounties “always get their man” another myth created by our great neighbour to the south via Hollywood. How long have the Mounties been playing lapdog to the Liberal party? SNC-Lavalin, the Truckers Convoy or the Coutts debacle are all indications of how the Mounties operate.
So to all the nitwits out there and the wanna-be political leaders it is about time you gave your heads a shake and wake up to the fact that Canada is a vassel state to America and has been since the Fifties. We’d all be better off it we just make it official! We were a vassel state to Britain since Confederation and became a vassel state to America once Britain lost its influence in global affairs, our sovereignty has always been an illusion and a tool for greater powers. Be very careful because one of the greater powers now looking at us is China and if that continues there could be a whole lot of hurt headed our way.
Possibly the best comment I have ever read.
A vassal State of the US … with designs on becoming a borderless territory of the “one-world” United Nations. Seems the Canadian far-lefties want a new vessel for your vassal.
I wonder what Justin’s boss will tell him to do?
Bananada couldn’t even deal with a Chinese weather balloon floating across the county and had to get the US to shoot it down for us. Oh, lets lease a couple of helicopters now
RCMP getting involved- yeah ok . We all know how the Enforcement Arm of the Librano Party actually functions. Its a big step to move beyond trampling grandmas at protests, assaulting journalists who may not “speak the truth” and carrying the suitcases for illegal immigrants.
Thankfully Bananada is collapsing on itself and its every peoplekind for itself.
Our virtue signallers claim the historically wronged ‘first nations’ must have a say on what to do. What are their suggestions as to an approprite response to the USA? Lets get it right this time, people!
Pierre Poilievre @PierrePoilievre
We have an emergency.
Reopen Parliament now.
To take back control and put Canada First:

with the letter that follows..
And of course he brings up retaliatory tarrifs. Had some hope for Pierre, but I’m afraid he’s looking like just another tiddlywinks player on a 3d chess board here.
I. Want. A. New. Country.
Doug Ford is already calling for a monumental “stimulus” program at a time when interest rates are going the wrong way. It seems he can’t wait to resurrect the heady days of pandemic spending when politicians told Canadians they would be foolish not to borrow more. This country is done like dinner.
how did fat dougie ever consider himself a conservative
Well, self-styled Conservatives keep voting for him.
Check out my rant on this very subject on YouTube this morning.
All the best.

I’m not buying it. Even the Liberals aren’t that dumb.
If tariffs can be avoided, the Liberals will be lauded for their deft handling of the situation. And if tariffs can’t be avoided, the Liberals will be — fairly or unfairly — at least partially blamed.
Further, if tariffs are imposed, who would Canadians prefer to be negotiating for them: Liberals or Conservatives? Most would choose the Conservatives, as Trump seems to have little respect for the Liberals. The fact that he would impose tariffs on Canada on their watch demonstrates that.
tsk tsk. our chirese masters are gonna be very miffed if the TUR… er, little potato dare comply. he does after all admire them, feelings are NOT mutual, to them he’s a comedy figure. wish i knew chirese must be something humorous there.
mags thatcher went to hong kong prior to the handover, kinda jumped the gun.
deng xiao peng quipped ‘whose this cow they sent me.
walking down some steps she stumbled. the veddy superstitious chirese viewed it as a bad omen. correctly as we now see, crushing protest and dissent.
l was in a hi rise once. the #4 in chirese sounds like ‘death’
there was no 4th, 13th, 14th or 24th floor. theyve actually demolished partially built structures the ‘vibe’ wasnt right.
but he admires them doesnt he?
p.s. the point being Canaduh is their best fentanyl customer, right?
” Willful Blindness” – Canadian author Sam Cooper . An absolute must-read on the ‘ drug trade’ that Trump is talking about .. a book 8 years in the writing . I have a Daughter-in-law who is a “drug undercover” worker in western Canada. She describes the book as being ‘ correct’ to what’s happening as we speak! You won’t believe your eyes how the ‘elite’ leadership of our country has failed us… A ‘must read’ for 40 million CANADIANS !!!
Problem for liberals is that polievre will actually call them out and he can get around the lamestream press losers and scumbags.
The fentanyl and migrants must flow!
Any thoughts on how Ford got tucked so deeply into Trudeau’s pocket?
