  1. The 29.19 minute marks says it all.
AI has nothing good to bring us.
Recording beautiful things that come from the soul to the brain, and then the fingers to the strings, or what have you.
Is as far as it should go.

    1. As someone pointed out on the AI generated dogs comment thread, Mugs, AI is just not real. It’s… off. Very good, but off. No feel to it.

I would think it would be much the same if AI was tasked with, “Given Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos 1-6, write Brandenburg Concerto No. 7.” I think the result would be quite good, but not have that extra spark of creative genius that Bach instilled in his works.

      1. Jeff was golden.
        Thanks for this.
He took the whammy bar where no one went before.
As for the “AI” comments on this thread….
        Joe Walsh said it best…
He said that AI will never take over music because AI can’t trash a hotel room.
Let your freak flag fly, fellow babies!

Boom! End of discussion right there.

  2. Eric Clapton’s favourite guitar player is David Gilmour. David Gilmour’s favourite guitar player is Jeff Beck. Jeff Beck’s favourite guitar player was John McLaughlin.
I find it interesting that classical guitarists are almost never mentioned in these best of lists. Like Julian Bream for example.

Beck was never better IMHO than his young, creative years with the Yardbirds. And since I am a devotee of psychedelic music … who cannot be enthralled by ”Shapes of Things to Come”. How can you not adore Jeff Becks fuzzed lead solo played on his knees. Pure genius. A solo crafted by a young guitarist … inspired by black American blues … reinterpreted for the ears of MY generation. Damn. I love this video.
