    Well there is the pardon for the First Son. It is obvious he’s not being pardoned for actions of which we are aware and for which he has been convicted in court.

    1. As well it is problematic an election will leave them in a position of very little real influence. That isn’t the situation now. They apparently can hold out until sometime in 2027.

      1. Election is scheduled for October 20, 2025. They would have to change the law back to five years, max out the five years from the return of writs from the 2021 election and have a long campaign but it could be in 2027. Alternatively Turdeau could ask the Governor General to max it out to 5 years plus and she is likely stupid enough to do it.

    My local Postmedia paper has an embarrassing censor that censors comments that mention things like “incompetent Liberal Immigration Policy” and worse.

    One never hears that Postmerdia, owner of most Canadian newspapers, is 75% American owned and hugely subsidized by the Liberals.
    As is most of the Media.
    And laughingly, they’re the “good” guys.
    The Media certainly represents Canada.
    Life half the country, governed by lies and nothing but big Welfare Sucks.

  16. .Canada developed first as a two-state nation made up of Upper and Lower Canada…and when Quebec [ Lower] threatened to leave – the nitwits tried to prevent this by cementing the relationship with the Canadian Charter.

    The Charter set up Quebec as the Colonizer [ eg England in the old days]..and the ROC as its colonies..which it fed on.

    The Charter is quite explicit about this, it privileged Quebec and bilingualism…and deliberately preventing Canada from developing a cohesive identity – by inserting multiculturalism as the ‘Canadian identity ….with all privileges going to assumed minority ‘identity groups’…rather than individuals. Note this carefully; the Charter does not protect or promote individuals. Indeed, it represses them. Freedom of speech, for example, is incorrectly defined as a ‘fundamental right’ but the Charter sets it up as a second, not first [ as in the USA] clause; it is proscribed by Clause 1, which declares that the freedoms are “subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a red and democratic society”. How’s that for open ambiguity?

    Result? Quebec has moved further away from any collaboration or shared commonality with Canada, has declared itself a separate nation, as unilingual, and insists on its own immigration, legal system, taxes..everything. [ But oh, it welcomes the equalization and other payments; from the colonies and…its literati function as the federal bureaucracy]…

    And Canada has dissolved – with no identity…None. It has treid to develop a ‘negative identity’ [We are NOT Americans]…and still parrots this – I’ve heard pundits saying: We are nice and kind people unlike The Americans’…which is of course nonsense.

    But- we have nothing else…

    This can’t last – and Quebec will hav e to leave and work with Canada within a new mode of federation – and the West will have to develop its own identity..Same with Ontario and the Maritimes.. But the Charter will ha ve to be burned, thrown out, trashed..as the idiotic piece of junk that it is.

      It seems like a Europe kinda thing. But that doesn’t really work here because of the thousand(s) years of a cultural record and history aren’t sewn into the lands. The extension of France into Canada is like a snail amongst Timbits. It is the only “European” aspect but it has been allowed to predominate.
      Quebec, the province, is too large and should be dramatically reduced and then removed from the improved federation.
