Truly Apologetic or Just Deceitful Poseurs?

Raised as a Roman Catholic, confessions are a big part of being an adult for me. So I’m very open to forgiving someone for their past transgressions, just like I’d hope they would be willing to forgive me for mine.

In the past year, culminating with Trump’s recent historic victory, several prominent media figures have appeared to do a 180° turn and now tacitly “seem” to be not so anti-Trump and anti-conservative. Only time will tell how sincere they are. Here’s a partial list of those I’m highly skeptical of ever being sincerely sorry:

  • Bari Weiss – she owes Tulsi Gabbard a sincere public video apology
  • Ana Kasparian
  • Joe Scarborough & Mike Brzezinski – insincere swamp creatures who are not sorry for any of their bad behaviour
  • Piers Morgan – His condemnation of people against the Covid narrative was truly atrocious
  • Chris Cuomo – he owes Joe Rogan a sincere public video apology, and a whole lot of others too

  1. Forgive nothing.
The battle against the corrupt and politicized propaganda must continue.
The offenses committed by these heinous partisan hacks is extraordinary and verges on treason.
There are not sufficient Hail Marys, or Our Fathers to be said in order to re-admit them to the community of trusted media.

  2. None of them are sincere, they are just hoping that you will ignore their bad behaviours so they can continue to grift.

Ana Kasparian seems to be especially stupid, considering that one of her ancestors was killed by the “young turks” during the Armenian genocide, and she works for a show called “The Young Turks”.

  3. Bari Weiss,
Though I believe in forgiveness, Bari isn’t worth Tulsi’s time and Joe Rogan corrected her, famously, so she’s disabused of the false notion and hoax surrounding Tulsi.
I appreciate the sentiment and the post but events have moved past the 2nd class Bari.

  4. Piers Morgan. Yup, pretty hard to forget that pontificating horse’s arse. I’ve put him in the same file as Michael Coren.

    1. Michael Coren! There’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. Makes me also want to add Charles Adler to the list: either he was lying for years or is lying more recently; either way, no respect!

        Rafe Mair, too.

I only remember him vaguely from the Covid era, but now he seems to be a full-on Trump supporter. I love the way he shuts down all these ranting, yapping 20-something Democrat activists on his show.

I have the same mixed feelings about Bill Mahr now…and wasn’t Joe Rogan a Bernie Bro?

  5. Piers Morgan is a liar for hire. He will take any position for money and appears to have studied the most effective ways to APPEAR to be correct to an unquestioning audience when he asks the loaded questions, cuts off the guest repeatedly, and proclaims himself the victor in the end.

  6. None of these people are believable in any way. That they’re currently spewing a line that we find acceptable or whatever does not mean it isn’t -spew-. Broken clocks do find the odd acorn and all that.

It’s Hunger Games TV. Do we believe Cesar Flickerman now that he’s for the rebels? How about no?

  7. Never forget we have an off switch for them. I am more concerned about Republican Benedict Arnolds in the senate and house.

  8. I remember the virtual spewed against Tulsi by the bible pounders when she first started to shift.
So, does anyone in here understand the definition of HYPOCRITE???????
Oh, and that was just not in here!

    1. “Hypocrite” is from the Greek, “high on critters”. It originally applied to fake vegans, then spread by analogy.

      1. Thank you for that excellent scholarly explanation, ebt.

One quibble; I thought it was spread with a butter knife. I guess I’ll have to study the original cuneiform texts to confirm that. I wouldn’t want to be accused of spreading misinformation.

        1. I don’t know, H. R. It’s a critter thing, so maybe butter knives aren’t kosher? There are talmud scholars out there, perhaps they’ll enlighten us.

  9. I believe in God who loves us and has given us a way of redemption. That requires a repudiation of one’s former actions and ideas and becoming a small child before God.

The truth doesn’t need popular people. If they’re just catching the next wave to lift themselves up they need to be avoided so as not to be corrupted by them. If they sincerely are seeking truth, give them a few years of relative solitude to rebuild their lives. The apostle Paul who excelled in knowledge of the scriptures didn’t start his ministry until three years after his conversion.

  10. Fools names and fools faces are always found in public places.
You list a bunch of hasbeens and never weres.
I suspect most of their “influence” , as in audience, are people coming to look and laugh.

As the “Lefties Losing It” show from Australia.

One of the recent realizations, spreading across the world,is that these people live in self imposed bubbles and seek to control a reality they cannot/will not see.

    Not Sees.
    Blind by choice.
Except the truly amusing ones seem to believe their own BS..And the collision between their fixations and everyday living get funnier by the week.

I love Rita…she puts out some really good stuff, doesn’t she?

  11. I dunno. I haven’t forgotten that Gabbard was a Dem for the last 99.99% of her life. Hanging right in there with the Clinton’s/Obama/Biden. What, were now supposed to forget/forgive her cuz she’s been a Republican for less than a month? Wasn’t she on everybody’s enemy list?

    1. Being a Republican makes one a good person? You’re a fan boy of Mitch McConnnell, Lindsay Graham, etc.? Sheeesh.

    2. Choosing among Clinton, Obama, RINO’s and neocons … MAID is an equally valid option. Gabbard was disabused of Dem leanings when they put her on the terrorist watch list and she saw that Trump was willing to take on the swamp. For now she’s got to be better than anyone Mitch McConnell would endorse.
Given the pre-Trump Republican culture, I’d say Republican heritage is a detriment.

Donald Trump was a New York Democrat for, what, 30 years?

He turned out okay in the end. People change…and as long as that change is sincere, I have no problem with it.

(Joe and Mika’s calculated and cowardly manipulations excepted)

  12. Weiss did a bit of good when the “X Files” were released, but not otherwise.

I don’t trust Gabbard, but Dr. Peterson gave her a good rap to my surprise, and she is better than most dems, current or allegedly former. That’s admittedly a very low bar though.

Time will tell; time always does…

  13. Gabbard hanging out with the ruskies (Russia’s girlfriend) and providing shade for Syrian mass murderer Assad isn’t a good look. That’s why her own party put her on the terrorist watch list.

She goes from that to the front bench of the cabinet in one step? Really?

Her judgement should be under scrutiny imo.
She’ll face a a tough confirmation, and she should.

  14. Ana’s conversion has been a very long process caused by personal experiences that didn’t line up with the narrative. I think her conversion is sincere, she’s taken a lot of heat for it over the last couple years. She’s not a conservative, but she’s no longer woke.

The rest are posers, there’s no way to no if they are sincere. But I’d wager my life that Joe, Mika, and Chris are not sincere. They never stray from the scrip, even if they happen to agree with it from time to time.
