  1. “You Can’t Fix Stupid”
… so let’s use an IQ test to determine which immigrants to allow into Canada.
Do a search for “Global IQ Map” and look at sub Saharan Africa.

    1. First, let’s take a look at what sub-Saharan Africans are good at, then decide, just as we did back in the ’80’s with Jamaicans; if you can run fast you are welcome to Canada.
If sub-Saharan Africans are superb athletes, bring ’em in, we need more overpaid stars in our sports industries.
Russians, are Russians any good at any particular sport?
Every Canadian team in the NHL needs goaltenders, especially the Oilers, so…..if you’re a Russian goaltender, you’re in!
I wish my ethnic group, the Welsh, were good at something so many of my distant relatives would be allowed to come here, but all we are known for is coal mining and brooding, with the occasional fabulous tenor cropping up now and then.
I guess Canada might as well stay the course and keep bringing in people from the Middle East, peaceful intellectuals all, devoutly religious and conservative, with an average IQ more than twice their shoe size.

I mean, take Ahmed Hussen. Please.

      1. The ruskie gurls excel at chesterfield rugby. Shurly there’s room on a team somewhere in the country?

          1. Some gurls play 3 downs but most go the distance with the 4 down rule. Go long…so to speak.

  2. I learned in the early 1980’s, from all places, Cosmopolitan magazine, that there are 6 types of intelligence and of course, we all are composed of the 6 in varying degrees. The six are as follows:
    1. Physical intelligences – think athletes, dancers, actors/actresses. Princess Diana had lots of this.
    2. Mathematical – think staticians (sp?), engineers – this is often combined with the next one for some odd reason
    3. Musical
    4. Artistic
    5. Emotional or empathy – again Princess Diana had this in large quantities
    6. Ability with words and to make connections – think writers, politicians, engineers
I myself have very little physical intelligence, I love walking and can do solitary sports such as skiing. I have some artistic, some mathematical and have the ability with words and to make connections. Sadly, Princess Diana was not able to make connections and would do what the last person told her to do.
I would think that Dr. Peterson has a lot of empathy and ability with words and to make connections. I could be wrong.

  3. Also at play are a couple of other factors:

NUTRITION, especially in early childhood. A malnourished brain is a limited brain.

    Kultcha!

Does the surrounding social culture cherish and encourage high achievement and innovation?

    Imitation?

Herd mentality? If someone is exclusively surrounded by “the less gifted”, will they “go with the flow”?

    Is “damage” repairable?

Norman Doidge, M. D. wrote an interesting book on that subject: “The Brain that Changes Itself”.

See also Oliver Sacks study of the effects of MUSIC on the human brain: “Musicophilia”.

I am not a psychologist, nor have I ever played one on TV, but it seems to me that there is a LOT of SERIOUS work to be done and wonders to be revealed.

    1. It’s also been demonstrated that cows in diary barns that have classical music playing yield more milk production than those that don’t. But the again, if cows had IQ’s, it would hardly be measurable!

  4. The 5 laws of stupidity original print ,takes you straight to PFD form, read for free.
Seems everybody wants to sell us books explaining what the author meant.
There is a cure for stupid, but you must not be caught administering it.
Unless you are from the government, then it is MAID.
So are all our health minions “MAID Men”?
As they are all working for the Liberanos.

        France – Macron
        Germany – Scholz
        Canada – Trudeau

        Pretty interchangeabley stupid.

    1. In my county here in Montana about 30% of Republicans got the Wuhan Flu shot.
About 90% of the Communist Democrats did.

  5. As I sit here on my deck in Australia, I am listening to hundreds of kids at play on the nearby school fields. It seems that today there is no classroom time. Same yesterday. Same a couple of days last week. The summer holiday starts in two and a half weeks but it seems they’ve had all the learnin’ they’re going to get this year.

We’ve lived here for fourteen years, observing the same year after year. The kids spend alarmingly little time in the classroom, being more occupied by sports, school fetes, alarm and evac drills plus of course the multiple ‘school trips’ that are apparently necessary. That school isn’t atypical here in Australia, and it’s the same with public schools in the UK.

Meanwhile, numeracy and literacy are at all-time lows and universities are increasingly finding it necessary to provide each year’s intake with classes in basic math and English, before they start their degrees.

However, those youngsters might not be getting their three R’s, but if my 10yo granddaughter is an example of our public schools, they’re being taught more than they need to know about our dying planet, climate change and the evils of Donald Trump (did I tell you she’s ten years old?).

On this basis, lack of schooling among immigrants might not be the biggest problem going forwards.
