Yep. Thune’s got an overwhelming majority of Senators so he can DO NOTHING and blockade Trump. My hard-on just lost a little rigidity (sorry).
I don’t think Thune is sticking around in DC. The primary question is how self-focused is he. Trump placed Noem in the DHS slot. That opens up the South Dakota Governor’s Office. Thune has some new grandkids back there in SD. The Governor’s office opening is probably looking pretty sweet to him.
However, he had to remain in the running for Senate Majority leader because if it was a straight up contest between Cornyn and Scott….well, Scott would have likely won. I believe the moment Thune faces some hardship early on, he’s going to split and return back to SD. And, I think the Trump team is serving that up as we speak. Trump was always adversarial with McConnell. Watch how he turns it up to eleven with Thune. There’s nothing to lose, no future election to worry about. Thune just stepped in a big pile of “this isn’t what I thought it would be.”
I think you’re right. Thune’s wife wanted him to quit Congress already a couple of years ago and he seriously did consider it. It may not take too much adversity to make him hang it up.

Just my opinion but Thune is there because Trump allowed him to be there, well for now at least. People got to chill out and quit black pilling over every little details that looks bad for Trump, sit back and watch the movie.
All governments at ALL levels need the same treatment. ALL of them.

I’m holding my breath until the Epstein List becomes public. A good chance I may perish. But I’m more hopeful for truth coming out now than I was mere weeks ago. We are finally making some progress in turning things around. But it will be a monumental challenge.

Hoping for an accurate account of truth in those files is a real stretch though. Too many modern bad actors still to be hurt by that info. Same reason I’m doubtful on the Epstein info getting released. But can always hope for a truth-teller with balls to come forward.

I think many here at SDA are going to be very disappointed by Trump’s lack of action when he finally gets into office. Or it may be his inability to do much because of the vaunted American political system.
The so-called Deep State isn’t new thing or the invention of the last three Democrat presidencies,it’s been around forever, and Trump isn’t going to make much of a dent in it.
The USA has built a system of checks and balances we Canadians envy, but so do our politicians, as the American system is set up to protect it’s players even better than ours.
I like Trump’s appointments so far, let’s see how many actually pass House and senate scrutiny.

I think you’re right on your last point. The Epstein list opening up is doubtful.
BUT… I think we’re forgetting one thing. We can bypass the media entirely now. This is huge in fighting the Deep State. Citizens have been kept in the dark/duped for decades now by media… Trump’s and Vance’s presence in the podcasting world helped a lot. This will continue. As will powerful sources of REAL NEWS like Kate here at SDA. We must keep hammering, encouraging and fighting the good fight.
