    1. In the 1980s the Trudeau One government paid scientists $70,000 to study how to improve the spreadability of butter.

      Their scientific conclusion?

Allow it to come to room temperature.

      1. Well, there’ll be no replication of that study, joe. Nowadays, $70,000 won’t buy enough butter to repeat the experiments.

P.S. I’m surprised you even remember butter. It’s so expensive now that it’s one of those things you vaguely remember having when you were growing up.

“If we had some butter, we could have buttered toast, if we had some bread.”

    2. “The government pays dead people …….Again!………….$38,000,000.”

Well, they are voters….so there is that…….

  1. A couple of years ago the CRA, the Canada Revenue Agency, the taxman, spent about $35,000 on a survey for what colour their envelopes should be. They are still a brownish grey.

I’m sure a good liberal survey company was gainfully employed in this endeavor.

    1. CRA now automatically demands quarterly tax payments if your return requires you to pay more than three thousand dollars when you file. Annually I have to add over four thousand dollars to the taxes already paid been doing it for years. I politely declined their quarterly assessments. I will not pay taxes on money not received. They now are charging interest on quarterly payments that I refuse to make.
CRA policies should be illegal in a real country and not a communist backwater.

  2. “Education” budgets from kindergarten to PhD need to be slashed in half in order to restore some sanity to the system.

If what needs to be cut is not obvious to the managers of those budgets then they should be fired immediately.

  3. The ‘research’ grants he cited are just 2 of thousands that get funded via the tri councils each year for years. Have a look at what SSHRC funds. (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council). You will discover some real doozies.

  4. That arrogant bureaucrat saying in so many words, “You wouldn’t understand…”
You just want to lynch him and when he pleads for his life and asks why you are doing this, my response: “You wouldn’t understand.”
