  1. Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge announces seven “experts” to advise the CBC on how to “modernize” itself before the next election:

    The compliant corporate media use the same words — “experts” and “modernize” — that appear in the Heritage Canada press release. Word translation:

    “experts” = “left-wing media types who already infest the CBC”;

    “modernize” = “make a few superficial changes to be announced before the next election to combat Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives”.

    1. “modernize” = get the Liberals re-elected or perhaps support Pascale St-Onge for Trudeau’s replacement,

    2. The panel includes:
      — Marie-Philippe Bouchard, CEO, TV5 Québec Canada;
      — Jesse Wente, chair of the Canada Council for the Arts, founding executive director of the Indigenous Screen Office;
      — Jennifer McGuire, managing director, Pink Triangle Press;
      — David Skok, CEO and editor-in-chief, The Logic (independent media startup);
      — Mike Ananny, associate professor of communication and journalism, University of Southern California Annenberg;
      — Loc Dao, executive director of DigiBC;
      —Catalina Briceno, professor, Université du Québec à Montréal.

      Where’s Canadian Kate McMillan, a modern day news accumulator, on that list ?
      Where’s Canadian QDM, a modern day motion media expert ?
      And why are there two people on the list whose expertise is …teaching ?
      CBC needs a different kind of diversity to modernize..

    1. When I first settled in New Brunswick in 1985, during the dark days of premier Richard Hatfield, one would read of some children in rural areas having head lice. Fortunately over time that problem disappeared. Sad to see it voting back in Chowtown.

  2. CBC – apologies in advance.

    “RCMP’s ability to defend national security is eroding, report warns
    Federal policing is ‘stretched thin’ and it’s putting Canadians at risk, Management Advisory Board says”

    “Federal policing has now arrived at a critical juncture of its sustainability, which present risks for the national security and safety of Canada, its people, and its interests,” says the report.

    1. I think that is pretty bad. What has happened to Germany. A leader in the new totalitarianism.
