    1. Ever play pickle baseball?

It could become a very popular pickup game. Needing a small field of play and a small baseball bat.

  1. Wow. People think that guns are going to be banned. They won’t be. It will simply become impossible to use one legally as a gun. You can defend yourself just not with anything meant to be used in self defense.

  2. test. I’ve been unable to post since early this morning. I’m just testing to see if I am blocked for some reason.

    1. rebar is used to r e i – – – – – e concrete.
for some unfathomable and forever unexplained reason, that word is banned from the sda filter.

      1. go ahead. anybody. do a test. one word so theres no uncertainty.
not an obscenity ferfcuksake its an ENGINEERING term, but, no quarter at sda

  3. Is that really true that you’re not allowed anything specially for self defense? That’s insane!

    1. Actually defending yourself can result in being charged. It’s dumb beyond belief, but that’s Canada.

      1. You are both right. But it’s not just Canada. Most governments do not want their civilian populations armed. Historically with armed populations, the civilians can have the idea that the source of their problems is the government itself. That’s the real lesson of an event like Bastille Day in 1789.

      2. It’s better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.

But it legal to defend yourself in Canada. The issue is if the degree of defence is not reasonable given the threat you can be charged.

        1. thats the ‘official’ version. the ‘street smart’ version beware of ANYTHING you do in defence in CanaDUH.
l was assaulted at a VIA station by a drunk wanted me out of the line
after me knocking him on his ass and telling him to stay away they sold him a ticket but not me.
so l left just in time for cops to show up blame everything on me and refuse to look at the godam video.
ever since then l celebrate, a great sense of satisfaction every time one of them is dead.
what are the rules cop? stay or leave? if l stay like lm told and the fight resumes l get charged. if l leave to deescalate and preserve my well being l get accused of “trying to get away” and blamed.

18 YEARS trying to get clarity.
          it

          cops.

and naturally for a host of reasons its all my fault. ‘tone’ ‘attitude’ ‘bla bla bla’

      1. A metal/steel cane with a hardwood handle along with a lightweight knife are ok in some circumstances but in others, nothing but a gun will do.

    2. Poor victims are allowed to protect themselves. I think this is the scale they use:
      https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e38f25f4e6d2d0fd59196392862c245a431355f40e3b135310af89fc91d5892d.jpg

And the guy who ran down the police officer in the Toronto City Hall underground parking lot is using the excuse that he feared for his family’s life after the Muslims who were ran over in London, Ontario and that they are always the real victims… yada… yada… yada. Let’s see what the verdict is. If he gets a slap on the wrist every cop be afraid to even approach a Muslim for any reason including to prevent them from committing violent crimes.

      1. The cops that approached the guy were in plain clothes. I might be scared too if approached by strangers in a parking garage after dark. Same with SWAT teams in ninja suits breaking into one’s house at 4 am. At the same time cops should be paranoid having to deal with drugged up crazies and cop haters. The situation is a recipe for bad outcomes for both civilians and cops. What about that gunsmith killed by Toronto police in his Port Dover shop. What those police did was tantamount to assassination.

        1. cops sure as shyt dont help things with the volume of lip they produce.

a buddy his late ex wife went at him with a knife so he reported it.

          unfortunately,
          -no witnesses,
          -no video,
          -no injury,
          -no confession.

so the cop instead of explaining their inaction for lack of proof,
my buddy gets (exact quote) “its a marriage thing”
lip lip lip lip lip lip
with a guy lve never seen him so much raise his voice exessively since 2003

godam cops bring it on themselves the hate, violence and death.
jeepers it occurs to me, are they trying to get us ALL to convert to
          ‘the religion of peace’?

  4. I think in the future we may have to move more towards those items not traditionally kept as defensive weapons such as using a chainsaw or a cordless construction saw, you know the element of surprise is going to be with you and to be sure not everyone is going to know how to react in those circumstances.

The splatter is going to be epic and perhaps witnesses will be shocked, but think of it as an act of desperation in which your lawyer will thank you for being so inventive, clearly nobody goes looking for a tilt with one of these.

  5. Innocent question (no really). Without judging the cause, is there any difference between these Columbia students demonstrating and say Ohio students demonstrating against the Vietnam war in the 1960s?

    1. I guess it depends on whether the demonstrators are threatening violence…..which at Columbia, they are.

  6. It’s legal to carry a sword cane, providing your intention is to use it as a cane. ????

  7. So all I have to do is attach a key ring to my gun?

I swear it’s just a bottle opener that happened to be used for self defense.

    1. The police and crown attorneys in Canada are just waiting for an opportunity to charge any citizen defending themselves. I think the only safe way to defend yourself without charges, is to be trans and claim you felt your life was in serious danger.
A few years ago, a certified firearms instructor, in rural Welland Ontario, was charged after discharging a pistol with warning shots above the heads of neighbors fire bombing his house, even with it fully on security video. Only after several years and thousands of dollars, did he prevail in court He tried to get a carry permit, because he had been threatened numerous times, but was denied. The answer from police? Just call us, even though they admitted their response time would be at least 30 minutes.

      1. I remember that case, Harper, when he was PM, had to step in to get those charges against the retired military firearms instructor dropped. He didn’t change the law unfortunately.

  8. If you are going to have a bat, make sure you have a ball and glove also. That is what I have been told.

    1. Concerned
Make sure it’s aluminum, and then say you deal in scrap. I have one in the box of my pickup:-)))

  9. I’ve been buying as many 6”+ locking blade pig stickers down at the Res mini mart. That’s still OK isn’t it?

    1. Nope. My brother has carried a small 3″ knife with him since he was a kid, comes in handy more often than most people think, a few years ago he pulled it out to cut some plastic tubing at a worksite and a woman who was walking past the room saw him do it through the open door and ran and called the cops saying that he was waving it around and threatening her. The cops showed up and even after explaining to them what he was doing, was told that even though they weren’t arresting him that day that he would be open to the crown laying assault charges for up to a year.

  10. A golf club in your car plus a few balls for practice? I once had to use a putter on an aggressive raccoon. One swing and it was real dead.

  11. Four dead in Ohio?.. Apparently the national guard was acting in the best interest of the USA.. Just don’t tell Neil Young..
