    I have come to see Maxime as the guiding angel which the CPC refuses to acknowledge, but which they grudgingly follow, sometimes. Without Maxime to break the trail, the conservatives are just gonna wander around the Liberal\NDP base camp.

            In addition, the result of the leadership race and party handling was questioned by some supporters of such as runner-up Maxime Bernier and fifth place candidate Kellie Leitch due to discrepancies in the final ballot count, specifically a gap between the number of ballots cast and the announced result – a 7,466 vote discrepancy, which is greater than Andrew Scheer’s 7,049 votes margin of victory in the final round. There was criticism over the exact role of the accounting firm Deloitte during the voting process – a deal revealed that Deloitte was not specifically tasked with auditing the vote but “observe” the counting process

            If you believe that Bernier actually ‘lost’ after being the clear frontrunner in the polls and leading every ballot until the last one, you probably also believe the Joe Biden won fair and square in 2020.

            And as convenient as it might be to opine that “well, he should have just stuck around until next time then, and tried again.” The problem with that, is that someone like Andrew Scheer or Erin O’Toole probably *would have* sucked up their pride and meekly gone along with the steal…but then they don’t have much backbone to speak of, do they? We already know what kind of ‘leaders’ those guys made. Maxime Bernier, for all his faults, seems to be made of sterner stuff, and I think he would have made a great CPC leader. Too bad that he never got the chance to prove it.

            I will continue to vote PPC until the CPC adopts some actual conservative policies. As I’ve said before, if the CPC wants my support they know exactly how to get it….if not, they just should stop whining about ‘vote splitting’. I WILL NOT vote for a liberal party disguised as conservative…we did away with the ‘Progressive’ Conservative Party for that very reason, and the few remaining Red Tories should just vote Liberal and stop trying to fool everyone into thinking they are something that they are not.

  7. I still say it is good to see any leftie seeing the light on some issues.
    The 2 basic flaws in multiculturalism as preached in Canada:
    1) The absurd presupposition that “all cultures are equal.” They are not. It is not Racist to admit that. Race is a genetic mix that a person is born with. Culture is a set of beliefs that an individual ascribes to. And some cultures are terrible, wrongheaded, and evil.
    Funny how in our enlightened Canada we are not allowed to say that certain cultures are backwards, evil and oppressive. Yet our Dear Leader can denigrate white culture, European culture, and blue collar culture (comments re. truckers or pipeline workers) with impunity without being called Racist or Judgemental. Apparently the loving umbrella of Multiculturalism is selective. Shocked, I am!
    2) The government funding of multiculturalism. Open to cronyism. Limited dollars means that some cultures receive favorable treatment, and others don’t. If you love things about your culture and heritage, keep them alive, so long as they align with what WK called Peace, Order, and so on. But do it on your own dime. I have been to Robbie Burns days, Phillipine Dance celebrations, and many other fun celebrations of diverse cultures. All organized and funded by the people involved. The way it should be – gov’t just gets out of the way and lets the people do things on their own. Provide a basic infrastructure, the necessary policing, etc, and then leave the people alone. Anything more is just vote buying with the people’s own money.
