Google’s Gemini AI invented fake negative reviews about my 2020 book about Google’s left-wing bias. None of these book reviews — which it attributed to @continetti, @semaforben and others —are real. None of these quotes are real. This is Google’s AI blatantly lying in defense of Google

It is not the “AI” that is lying, it is the very human operator. The “AI” couldn’t give a rats arse about the book.
AI IS BS
There is currently no AI (Artificial Intelligence) , it is all bullsh*t.
There are however , human designed algorithms , which the ignorant media label as AI, created by biased designers who insert into the algorithms their particular bias. In the recent example of the Google AI generated black Pope , the designers biased the algorithm to exclude white people.
That’s funny because there IS actually a “Black Pope”…it’s a colloquialism used to describe the very powerful and rather lesser known Captain General of the Jesuit order found in some of the deeper conspiracy rabbit holes.
Out in farm country, AI means artificial insemination.
Same in this context, though the results are less productive.
Exactly! People are having stupid bred into them.
AI is a guilt free lie mega-factory. This is poison to a free and fair society.
Google could have just used the likes of the sock puppets that infest this place to put up fake reviews. AI just makes it easier for them than it used to be. If you look at Amazon reviews of any conservative publication over the years, commies will gladly put up fake reviews for free and do so.
And that’s what is going on here. Most people have no idea how a basic computer works, much less a large-scale LLM like ChatGPT or Gemini. LLMs have no idea what they’re saying. They have no ability to reason, they have no understanding of context or relationships between entities. They’re literally generating random text strings, they’ve just been trained that certain random text strings are more likely to be “correct” based on what they’ve been told “correct” looks like. And no, that doesn’t always mean deliberate training bias.
In this case, even if Google weren’t deliberately training the AI to be a psychotic Communist, you’d still get similar results as Hasson. That’s because Gemini has been trained by pointing it to real reviews of real books as what “correct” looks like, and any conservative book will have tons of BS negative reviews that describe it exactly the way Gemini did.
Yep. Who knows if some of the comments on sites like this aren’t generated the same way. Can AI generate insulting arguments too?
If it were possible to pass some sort of law making all links available to all search engines, It would certainly help even the playing field, and this sort of garbage may not happen so much. Dare to dream?
If I want a condescending, arrogant, vapid liar, I could hire Just Insufficient for a whole lot less. Oh, wait…
I wouldn’t expect anything less from Google. I’m surprised actually that they let live on YouTube Matt Walsh, Megyn Kelly etc talking about Gemini AI.
Anyway going forward, I expect Google and the other big shots to implement full blown Minister of Truth using AI. It’s much more cheaper and easier to unleash Winston bots to mislead/disinform/change the past. Humans don’t do 24/7, are expensive, plus they may have doubts/180s on the road to Damascus. Also, with AI they can bring the BS excuse that it wasn’t them-them who did it, it was some lonely silicon chip/bad line of code/bad rule.
Stupid people have allowed another fraud to take over their tiny minds. A I is programing and is not sentient.
On almost every level what this tells me is the ‘left’s’ or ‘progressive’s’ positions on everything at issue today is supported by very few, less than we think. If more common sense values people would just get out and vote, we would not be where we are today.
Who says an AI can’t fill out endless mail in ballots?
Listen and understand…their goal is not to convince you of things that you know are false.
Their goal is to wear you down and make you give up and quit. That’s how they will beat you.
