  2. Nothing new here re: Liberal largess. Dictators always get very fat brown envelopes/bank transfers. I know amounts from the very early 1990’s – frightening then and now. Diplomats had to turn a blind eye, or default on 9% mortgages.

    We have been peons for years. Oops, maybe that is a bad word. Slaves?

  4. We already have a two tier justice system. And we have separate lawcode in Quebec, so what if we add another…. Diversity is strength. I gave 32 years of service to this stupid country. Not worth it.

  5. So if New York successfully obtains hundreds of millions of dollars from Trump will they just turn it over to migrants and criminals? Why yes, yes they will. Would that be the ultimate irony?

    1. I’m sure it will go over well, when the Trump organizations decides that any of their 12,000 employees that work in New York State, don’t need to be in New York State, and should be moved away from the Gangster Government of New York State, for their safety.

    1. Thomas Scott was organizing an armed rebellion that would certainly have killed a lot of people. He was a traitor of the most dangerous kind, and deserved death every bit as much as Riel ever did.

      And since you ask, Riel certainly did deserve to die, and was indeed a traitor in the Territories in the 1880’s. No one honours him for that. He’s honoured for being a hero in Manitoba in 1870, and dealing rightly with Thomas Scott was part of that heroism. Nothing he did later in life changed or diminished what he did then.

      1. You have two rival groups trying to be the rulers of the area, how do you get to decide which one was legitimate?

        1. There weren’t two rival groups. Riel put his government together when the Hudson’s Bay Company precipitately abandoned its authority, and the public accepted him. Spence wasn’t organizing an opposition or an alternative government, but an armed rising to destroy the government, so that the attacking Canadian army could just walk in unopposed. As they eventually did, but on something like reasonable terms, and with no one dead but Spence.
