Seriously, is the current Pope an actual Catholic or an actual Communist? There is something very odd about this fellow:
Communism is antithetical to religion.

Formed in 2014, the group, DIALOP, is composed of socialists, Marxists, communists and Christians, aiming to propose a “common social ethic that can be proposed as a new narrative for a Europe in search of its identity,” according to Vatican News.
He’s trying to meet people where they are. He thinks he is being compassionate, when in actuality he’s doing real harm.
He doesn’t realize that he’s not leaving the 99 sheep to go after the one lost sheep. He’s leaving the entire flock to chase after a wolf, the one he’s supposed to protect his sheep from.
This is my $.02 as a lifelong Catholic. This man is a well meaning, useful idiot. He will either learn his lesson in a very hard way, or God will have to step in for his own good like he did with Cardinal Wolsey.

Hmmm… as I recall that was supposed to be impossible with a Papacy. And the Pope was declared infallible in 1870. Something about the Holy Spirit watching over the chair of St. Peter, after Christ – supposedly – appointed him the boss of the Church.
This doesn’t seem to be the Holy Spirit’s intention anymore (if it ever even was …)
Papal teachings are infallible, when the Pope speaks ex cathedral. It only applies under certain circumstances to a limited set of topics. That is when dogma is declared. Pope Francis hasn’t done this, he has never spoken ex cathedra or met the requirements to do so, despite what leftists would have you believe. Nothing he has said or done falls under the category of being infallible.
Catholics believe the Holy Spirit will protect the office of the Pope from declaring formal heresy as dogma or doctrine. This is why Pope Francis has been doing things indirectly, to avoid being called an outright heretic.
The left think this incrimentalism will work on the church, as it’s been working everywhere else. It won’t. The leftist wing of the church will keep getting smaller, while the traditional and conservative wing keeps growing. The left has started to persecute anyone they deem to be on the “right.” They foolishly forget that the largest periods of growth come out of persecution.

Monasteries are all dependent on the charity of others. They all solicit donations from patrons. In other words, socialism only works when you can spend other people’s money. Even the most self sufficient monasteries have benefactors.
Perhaps now but not true a millenia ago. Back then they were independent and had to learn how to survive. Ironically they did more than that and thrived as they developed more efficient means of farming, etc. Some monasteries became so wealthy that monks who wanted a more austere life would start over in an even more inhospitable location. But soon the human urge to make things better would make those monasteries prosper too. Not sure when the transition from independent to dependent took place but it probably coincides with the transition from the ability to make everything yourself to a reliance on manufactured products.

Um, no. Monasteries were always dependent on gifts and grants – especially land grants – from the wealthy aristocracy. Sometimes it was outright bribery to get into heaven, sometimes it was as a form of retirement; in exchange for being allowed to live on the monastery grounds and being taken care of in their old age, an aristocrat would donate their lands to the monastery. All that land was how the monasteries and the clergy got so rich that celibacy had to be imposed on the clergy and they were such an attractive target for Henry VIII.

Christianity reveres altruism. Christians in the tradition of St Francis of Assisi know that there is no virtue in altruism without free will. “Liberation” Christians take altruism as a virtue uncoupled with free will (coercion) and easily become socialists (if self-sacrifice is good then a state that compels it must be even better). Most mainstream Churches are now in this paradigm. I suspect the Pope is in that camp.
There’s nothing odd about it at all. He’s an exponent of Liberation Theology. This is entirely the result of his experiences as a Jesuit priest under the brutality of the Argentine military junta. It ruled Argentina during the Dirty War of the 1970s. Routine government tools included secret arrests, murders of regime opponents and assassination by government death-squads.
At least 20,000 people were murdered during this period. The regime only collapsed in the wake of its defeat by Britain in the Falklands War of 1983.
Like everyone else in the world, Pope Francis is simply what his past has made him to be.

They have no point sitting at home and not comforting the dying and all the rest. Without the Catholic Church on board the narrative would have failed. It strikes me as very peculiar that the Church somehow ended up with a globalist communist as pope following the long and decidedly anti communist reign of JP2 and the very traditional conservative Benedict. The combined length of their tenure would seem to have prevented such a person as Francis from ascending given that popes appoint cardinals and one would assume this works like a political administration whereby people who are ideologically aligned are appointed. So how did Francis slip in as a cardinal to begin with? How did he overcome such odds to get elected/chosen pope. What machinations occurred that prompted Benedict’s unusual abdication given that pope’s typically live out their reign until death? I don’t suppose we’ll ever truly know, but everything about Francis and how he acceded seems fishy, especially the timing given how world events have been playing out.

Whatever that means to the Bride of Christ remains to be seen, but after seeing this pope in action, I can see how this prediction of St. Malachy will also come to pass.
I know I swore I would never disparage the Catholic Church (btw… it’s spelled “C-A-T-H-O-L-I-C”), but I freely, and without hesitation disparage the current pope as a globalist/communist, and I always have from day one in 2013 when he was first selected. He’s a figurative “wolf in sheep’s clothing,” to borrow from the biblical analogy.
Somehow though, I believe that disparagement would not be enough to satisfy you.
In Canada today, the Pope has very little influence. Much like King Charles, they are largely ceremonial figures.

Not all catholics are Christian and not all Christians are catholic by way of clarification and many of the popes in the past were not Christian. However they were, in the main, catholic. 1. Making the clergy rich and keeping it immune from any human law, especially any laws related to sexual morality.
2. Suppressing the worship of the God of Israel, whose Law dictates that the perverted Roman clergy be put to death for both idolatry and sodomy.
Francis is merely abandoning the pretense of being Christian at all.
